I cancelled today and was told basic package and Netflix are going up €3 each from 1 April. Just looking at Virgin and they have TV and broadband for €50 a month for 24 months. I think this time I will actually cancel and jump ship

Price Increase on broadband? Can you ring and renegotiate the price?

The tv increase doesn’t offer you free cancellation as far as I can see?

Here’s a summary of your Broadband subscription changes:

Effective from 12 April 2026 the Broadband service(s) below will have the following price change(s) per month:

    Sky Ultrafast Plus

    +€3.50

You can cancel your Sky Broadband and Talk products without early termination charges by calling us on 0818 719 819 before 12 April 2026

My Sky contract about to expire. I contacted Sky and the best price I was offered for another 12 month contract was:

    Sky Signature (Sky Q Box) €55 - €26 Discount = €29 Net

    Sky Broadband 500 Mb €67.50 - €30 Discount = €37.50 Net

    Sky TV & BB Total €122.50 - €56 Discount = €66.50 Net

Are there better offers available to existing customers?

Sky new customer offer is €45 for 12 Months (Sky Stream + 500 Mb BB)

Virgin Media is offering new customers €50 for 24 months (TV + 500 Mb BB)

Does anybody know if one can sign up to Sky as a new customer using my wife's name.

Otherwise I think I have no option but to move to Virgin Media for best value.

    Thanks in advance.

I got offered that SkyQ Signature deal too and I took it.

If I let the cancellation go through and called after a few days I might have got a few more euros off, but then I'd be with TV.

I've a friend that works for Sky and they said that their system is all eircode based so if a customer cancels they cannot sign back up for 1 year no matter whose name is used. Now maybe that only applies instore but it's something to be mindful of. Maybes others have had different experiences with doing it.
