Wondering how you find the ediface for loudness. I had a G-Shock analog that drove me cracked with the "ticking" but if the ediface is quieter it's a handsome watch

I'm probably not the best person to ask as I'm half deaf so have never heard any watch ticking!

Lads, my recent shipping/customs experience to the US for anyone interested or indeed anyone considering a sale to the US.

The bollox acting with US customs even with a correctly completed set of export paperwork and all my ducks in a row?
Means I can only advise folk not to sell into the US unless they have no other options.

6days held in customs, despite replying to the query raised on day 1, 15 minutes after it hit my inbox.
7 further emails and replies follow.
No further info other than what was included in the paperwork.
Eventually, the watch was released on its way.

Having €3.1k sitting in FedEx awaiting onward movement, but sitting there because multiple folk either don't read and/or don't comprehend their own import rules?
Despite being "Senior Import Coordinators" 🤔?

Doesn't bode well for actual businesses selling into the US.
    It's mental

I got a serious pain rotating my arm for the Garmin so I jury rigged the f91w. As it's all black I think it is relatively stealthy (neither does it snag on sleeves etc). Are there other brands that offer this functionality is a more refined way?

    I tried on Hamilton field watch in KV. It’s a brand I never took any notice of before but I quite liked this;

It’s got a weird strap though. There’s a double row of holes and double pins on the buckle. Then the shop assistant pointed out the little slot in the strap for the pin bars. I think the idea is that you can swop out the strap without needing any tools.

I showed her the drilled lugs on the Damasko but I don’t think they had seen those before. Watch was around €880. God almighty I used to look down at the brand 10 years ago when you could buy one for around €3-400.
Longines 10 years ago with a bracelet was around €1k for a hydro conquest, now we’re talking around 2k for anything automatic from Longines. That’s with a leather strap.
Is it just me or is anyone else simply glad that they did most of their shopping for watches 10 years ago?

Longines, just for pictures cos we still like looking at watches at least.

I picked up a Junkers Flieger style automatic watch for my dad for his birthday, he's always liked watches but this is his first auto and a choice I kind of talked him into. It's running over a minute per day fast, and he's not impressed. Anything that might be causing it to run off this much, or is it a case of needing to contact the company directly?

Was it new? I'm assuming spec is something like plus or minus ten to fifteen seconds a day. It could have gotten magnetised. That topic came up here recently. If it's new though id probably send it back to get sorted. Might need to be regulated

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,582 ✭✭✭VW 1

Yeah was new from the company site. I've sent an email to their support address, so should get something back in the next few days. Thanks Mick.

Its absolutely lovely and be it either via coincidence or cookies, another Chopard appeared on my radar today.
Via Reddit and someone's shared SOTC.

The summer blue ploprof is an eyecatcher too IMO.

That's mad, the AP above caught my eye on C24 yesterday and also seen a similar ploprof on Reddit.

    Must be cookies all right.

Just on the ploprof, I know a few like it but I can't get behind it, it's ugly AF imo 🤣

same as , not a fan of the ploprof, and not a fan of that chopard either

You're selling an F91 knock off for 4 quid yet feel the need to wear gloves

Maybe they’re afraid of catching something from the case!

Well lads, what's the etiquette regarding re-using someone's ad on Adverts?

I sold a watch of mine to a lad, met up, money paid, no issues.

I left immediate feedback, which I've since deleted because of the following.

No feedback from the buyer, perfectly within his rights. He has re-listed the ad for sale, again no issue with that. But he has literally copied and pasted my original ad, including pictures!

Maybe there's no official rule on that sort of thing, but it's kinda bad form if nothing else.

Of course it doesn't matter. And of course there's no real harm.

I'm just wondering if it's normally the done thing and looking for people's opinion on it.

Like you said, a bit rude. And I'd have had no issue at all if it'd been mentioned to me beforehand.

I've reused an add once purely cause it was a catch and release sold few days later. I guess it would be nice to ask the original seller. You often see it on tz forums. If much time hasn't passed and watch is in same condition and they are good photos seems reasonable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,276 ✭✭✭✭OmegaGene

I’ve had that happen once before and it annoyed me at first but then I though hey I got paid an he’s changed his mind so what’s the harm, better than the buyer looking for a refund anyway

    The internet isn’t for everyone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 2,981 ✭✭✭scwazrh

So do you only give feedback on the basis of getting it back ? I’ve never looked at it that way .

And what do you feel is wrong with re-using the ad? Maybe he doesn’t like it and wants to move it on quickly. He could have come back to you looking for refund which would be more hassle for you. Why are you even bothered , watch is sold , youre paid , move on .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 8,366 ✭✭✭Soarer

Yeah, thinking I might be being a bit too sensitive about it.

    Fair annoying all the same.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 8,366 ✭✭✭Soarer

No, that's not how I work at all. And like I said above, if he'd mentioned it to me prior, I'd have had no issue.

But when you go to the trouble of taking decent pictures and doing a decent ad (it must've been since I sold the watch!) and someone then tries to profit from your efforts, it just kinda stuck in my craw a bit.

Anyways, I was just wondering what people's thoughts were.

    Moving on.

Anyone able to identify what watch Kevin Doyle was wearing on RTE last night?

    Logo looks like a Breitling?

    Kevin who?

I've been seeing Michael O'Leary wearing the same square dial on a strap for over a decade. Cartier?
