Squint and it's a Polestar 2 in some ways.

Would you not get a P2 for about 4-5k less?

Yeah they seem to be getting good reviews but for me that OTR price wouldn't want to going up by much more with the usual add-ons?

Yeah I'm very curious to see the price of the CX-6E myself,I think it'll be a couple of grand more though?

would assume 4-5k more, but that would still seem competitive ish for the size assuming its got the luxury type finish from the YouTube reviews.

What are Mazda like to deal with folks, can you squeeze a good deal out of them at all?

The Polestar at 4 to 5 k less is a basic business edition missing loads of toys apparently.

Whereas whatever else you might say about them (I've ranted about their diesels before) Mazda usually include most things you need as standard.

coupled with the fact that aesthetically, the 6e is a far better looking car than the P2, particularly in the red colour.

I was in one of these this morning, didn't have time to take it for a drive but was offered one. It was a takumi with the brown suede interior.

Not a bad looking car, luxurious feeling in the inside, it's a lot bigger as in size on the outside than the model 3 or byd feels. You could fit a few kids in the frunk it's huge, lift back boot is also a bonus a lot easier for carrying things than the model 3. Software seemed snappy. I think it might do well against the byd and model 3, the price is right. The kids liked the back, thought they'd miss the tesla sceen but they seemed happy enough being able to open a close the sun shade, mrs also liked the window wiper stalk, I'd say she might have even bought one if the sales man wasn't busy.

These look really well and seem priced pretty right. I’d worry on resale though. A combination of the Mazda brand and a new EV could potentially be commercial suicide. One for PCP maybe ?

    Well priced, very interesting???

interesting. Competive price, good spec. Configuration still shows 44k on the road but maybe that doesn’t include grant. If the Cx6e was that price they’ll sell out.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

I like it but very mixed reviews online from the usual car mag review sites - could they all be wrong?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,483 ✭✭✭John arse

The only negative reviews that I have seen have been in regards of the 68kwh and the slow charging 80kwh battery which we aren't getting here. We're getting a 78kwh LFP battery here, otherwise any reviews I have seen have been mostly positive.

Didn't realise we were getting an LFP battery, apparently max charging speed is 195kw.

The reviews I saw all said it maxed out at 90kw, which was a major black mark. At least for people who would be regularly public charging anyway, I have a vision of this car being the ideal sales rep EV.

195kw DC charging for Irish models is great.

Loads of reports of SoC dropping from 20% to 5% in cold weather on motorway with drivers scrambling to get to a charger. SoC is hard to calculate on LFP. No news of a new software version to fix it. Volvo had same problem with ex30 which they addressed.

Great looking car and I would expect Mazda to fix it before long. Don't cancel orders.

Seems to be great value unless it's a pile of you know what but I don't think it will be.

Tech appears to be outdated but other than that it looks good on paper. Combination of Mazda badge and EV could mean commercial suicide in terms of resale. It might be interesting to check the PCP rates offered ?

Sadly I think Mazda are virtually gone here. MX5 aside, which is always a pleasure to see, you rarely catch a new Mazda model on the road, the 261 spotters thread hasn't had a Mazda mention yet. Have fond memories of my dad bringing me to primary school on wet mornings in his 323F with the pop-up lights. Even though it was far from a new car at that stage, it always turned heads.

I think even simply knowing about the issue helps.

95 percent of youtubers (including Bjorn Neyland) going OMG this is bad...…

Is them not expecting the issue.

Whereas if you know of the issue - you will allow for it and probably avoid most drama.

    BUT

It still shouldn't be an issue.

Would wait until the manufacturer fixes the issue instead of buying in the hope they will.

At that price I'd probably have the Polestar 2 or Model 3 which are mature products at this stage.

Fully accept that the Polestar isn't as nice in some respects.

Not as well equipped in the 40 k version and Polestar have that stupid high centre console for example.

I genuinely hope this matures into a well sorted product because it looks nice and is a good price.
