The fuse should be matched to the battery cable as well (first)

    Hi lads,

Looking to go the Sunsynk Inverter route myself.

Could anyone confirm the largest Sunsynk inverter model I can get on NC6, I'd imagine it's the 5K ECCO Hybrid Model?

I want to try and get the largest I can whilst not pushing myself into the NC7.

The new Solis S6 appears to be a Deye. Going that route gets you a local installer and a pic of most

Anyone can share their settings (timer) for sunsynk where you have charge 2-5am, dump 1-2am and keep the house feed all other time. I manage to charge it but no dump happen to me at the pre charge time. Possibly its because the battery new and was not calibrated yet but i have suspicioun in my timer settings as well. Thank you!

That can only be done with external automation unfortunately to change the work mode

@pavelpro Look at getting a modbus cable and setup an old laptop with Home Assistant or Solar Assistant.

You then setup automation to do what you want. But this is the beauty of the Deye / Sunsynk, that it can be fully externally controlled.

Until I set up proper automation, is there a way to export all solar power to the grid and force the house to run from the battery, while charging the battery only during the 3-hour cheap-rate window?
I’ve been trying different settings, but it seems the solar keeps charging the battery first and only sends power to the grid once the battery is full, even though the daytime timer is set with a lower battery SOC.

You would need the App so, to set the battery charging rate to Zero Amps during the day, and then to Max at night.

That way, the battery just depletes across the day. Obviously, if the day was crap, the whole house will be using it.

So if you had marginal battery vs consumption, then you would use an automation to make this decision based on maybe a weather forecast

Do you mean the SA or HA app?

I contacted Sunsynk support and they provided a solution, but I can’t find the referenced options anywhere in the menus. They mentioned some kind of installer option, however the only place I was ever asked for a password was when accessing Grid Settings.

At this point I’m not sure whether I should contact my installer, or if support simply isn’t aware of the firmware/version we’re using here, even though I shared all the relevant information with them.

Below is the solution I received from support:

Yes, this is possible on a Sunsynk inverter, but it requires specific settings:

    Battery → House load
    Solar → Grid export
Solar should not charge the battery

    System Mode: Self Use
Grid Charge: Enabled only in the 02:00–05:00 time window
Battery Charge from PV: Disabled or limited to 0 W
Export Control: Enabled (export limit set as required)

As a next step, I’m planning to order a Raspberry Pi anyway and install SA so I can manage and control everything myself.

I use HA but I believe that SA should work too.

Consider an old laptop or mini PC before a Pi. They will have far more grunt per €. Both can be run with lid down / screen less.

Anyone can share their rules for SA as got lost with all the settings. Trying to get it charge 2-5am, feed the house from battery 5am-1am with solar goes to house load and sold the remaining and eventually dump the charge which left at the end of the day 1-2am. Thanx

Setup the charging on the inverter. That needs nothing setup on the SA / HA side.

I can't help with SA as I use HA
