Solid start in Tullamore yesterday, got the job done and 2 points on the board, which was crucial as this is going to be one tight division this year i think.

Good fast attacking play in second half, Dara McDonnell had a very good game in the middle of field.

A few of the bigger names had off day/quiet.

Couple of " leggy " performances by some, first game out, bit of rustiness there.

Great Louth support turned out in Tullamore, getting more points on the board as quickly as possible a must !

We were awful against Cork on Sunday, Cork miles the better team.

Anyone know why our goalkeeper was dropped /replaced in the starting 15 ?

Cork were miles faster/stronger/more clinical than us, a lot of work to be done to get more points on the board , and quick !

Looking at fixtures ahead, we could be sweating to stay up in the division.

Any thoughts from Croke Park V Meath ?

Another no show first half from us, same against Cork, Meath wiped the floor with us, great account of ourselves in the second half, not sure if Meath got complacent or we were really good.

The subs we brought on all played well and gave a good account of themselves, Craig Lennon is a joy to watch as a footballer.

Work cut out big time now to avoid the drop, the Cavan match could well be a winner takes all in terms of the drop.

Yeah its down to the Cavan game. Big thing for me is to stay up and at the same time have blooded about 4 of the U20s, which is what he is doing.

We may drop in to the Tailteann which wouldnt be the worst thing either

Superb result v Tyrone, not many of us were realistically expecting it and even more so only winning by 3 points at half time and to play against the strong breeze second half.

Downey man of the match, great lob over the keeper for the goal , Grimes on a 100 games for Louth put in trojan work. Craig Lennon a joy to watch as always.

Composed , no wild shooting in second half, worked it well and took the scores close to goal.

Will be a great morale booster for all now, the big one/ probably crucial one for both team, Cavan V Louth next Saturday,

5.15 start in Breffni. The weather forecast is heavy rain there from 3 o'clock. Obviously not reliable this far out.

Massive result and outstanding performance by us on Saturday in Brefni . Dominates from beginning until we took our foot off the gas towards the end .

Ciaran Downey playing some football at the minute, finished off the move for a great kicking goal .

That win keeps us in the division thankfully ( I stand corrected if I’m wrong ).

Devlin as manager seems to be starting to get a cohesive tune out of them.

Yep. I had my doubts on him but he has done well so far. Thats us staying up, correct. We have 6 points, most Cavan can get is 6 points. And if they did that and we lost our next two, we would stay up by virtue of the H2H result.

Louth finished with 6 points last year, as did Down who were relegated. If they had not got to the Leinster final, they would have been in the Tailteann. As always in the League every score could be vital.

The Tailteann wouldnt be the worst thing in the world to be honest

Unreal performance and result V Derry in fortress Ardree, some serious talent from the Under 20 panel taking to senior level like a duck to water.

Finishing strongly in the group , i was worried initially if we would stay up, we wont get promoted barring a big slip up elsewhere which wont happen.

A lot of positives to take from the Derry result, especially with some of our stars missing.
