I must have missed this at the time, but when Liverpool won the Premier League in 2025, it meant the the list of Premier League winners forms the start of the Fibonacci sequence.

Obviously it doesn't actually mean anything and it won't apply anymore when this season is won, but it's still a nice little observation.

Because of the amount of combinations (52 factorial)

If you shuffle a deck of cards, it is entirely feasible if not probable that it is the first time a deck of cards have been shuffled into that sequence in the history of the world!

This is the kind of fact that makes this thread worth following.

The number of ways to arrange a deck of 52 cards (\(52!\) or 52 factorial) is roughly \(8\times 10^{67}\), an unimaginably large number illustrated by a thought experiment involving a drop of water. Start a timer, then you walk around the Earth, taking one step every billion years, and remove a single drop of water from the Pacific Ocean upon each completion, then place a sheet of paper on the ground after emptying the ocean—repeating this until the paper reaches the sun—you will only have utilized a fraction of the possible combinations.

Redheads may need more anesthesia than individuals with other hair colors due to a genetic mutation that affects pain sensitivity and anesthetic response. Some studies suggest they might require up to 20% more anesthesia for effective sedation.

I've never woken up during a procedure/operation (thankfully) but I have woken up far faster than expected just after.

Posted this in another forum today:

"Today is actually Candlemas day, which used to signal the end of the Christmas season (40 days after Christmas day) and still does in some quarters. Protestant churches in England and possibly Ireland dismantle their cribs and take down their decorations today.

It's also pancake day in France, where Candlemas is called La Chandeleur."

I confirmed this fun fact for myself during a root canal many years ago. On a previous occasion, I thought that an anaesthetist had messed up during a surgery to remove a cyst. Thankfully the last time I've needed a local anaesthetic, the dentist was aware of this condition, but it took 45 minutes to get me completely numb

There's an outbreak of hepatitis A in Prague, vaccination is recommended before travelling. Surreal, in this day and age, but we've learnt nothing from C19.

The Italians tried to install exiled Prince Milo as King of an Independent Montenegro during WW2 but he had settled in Dublin opening an antiques store. He later moved to Connemara and is buried in St. Mary's Cathedral grounds in Limerick.

I don't think it's positively known if the Italian's offered Milo the Crown, he was only a prince in that he was a distant relation of the King. You didn't need to be the son of a King to call yourself a prince in that House of minor Royals.

I think I read about him in a Turtle Burnbury book a while back.

Milo's house in Roundstone popped up for sale a couple of years ago. Nice little cottage.

From what I heard he was one of a number of prince's sounded out about it.

The circulatory system is more than 100,000 km long.

By comparison, the circumference of the Earth is about 40,000 km.
