    I don’t think so.
Tell me what figures to capture and I’ll do it going forward.

I’m may seem a obsessed with this calculation so ignore if just a pita😀

Basically Im talking about taking the 13.5 kWh used figure since last charge in attached image which used 18% of the battery. So this would suggest that 100% of the usable battery would have approx 75kWh available. As I said earlier this same calculation for the old battery yielded a 60kWh available figure which might suggest significant degradation. So basically ’m interested to see what this calculation would yield for other cars

No, you’re grand. I’ll do that over the next few days.

So is the the now unavailable sr rwd 'premium' M3 Highland suddenly more desirable then?

Yep, and same for the Model Y RWD. Trade-in values have taken a noticeable bump upwards.

    Owners should be happy enough.

    Yeah that's what I was thinking.🤔

Anyone speak to Tesla about Q1 deliveries, have they confirmed when the ship arrives?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,235 ✭✭✭AmberGold

Seeing reports on Facebook that those who ordered M3 standard back in November / December are being told they will not receive the spec they ordered and can select an alternative paying the difference.

No discounts will apply if choosing a higher spec.

Typical Tesla BS and I’m not surprised.

Actually I've never heard of this from Tesla, they generally supply the order with any upgrades included at original price

They rang me today, told me I was gonna not get my order and would get the new downgraded m3. Told them to cancel my order. Was promised my spec when ordered.

That's bad. You would think they would offer you a reduced price to sweeten the deal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,235 ✭✭✭AmberGold

BYD seem to have heard about this debacle.

I spoke to them this afternoon and they’re offering discounts to those with Tesla orders to make the transition easier.

This is a change in form for tesla, usually in the past orders are locked in and the changes are for new orders only

That is absolutely unacceptable. I would be properly píssed off and would shout from the the hilltops about it.

Similar happened me in 2022 when I had a 2014 Nissan Leaf I needed to upgrade from. Ordered a new 40kWh Blue/Black Leaf Tekna with the promise of delivery within a couple of months. A couple of months turned into a date a year away, with a higher price and finance costs. I went with Tesla and had my order within weeks. They have historically given customers the better deal when prices or specs changed. What a shame.

Indeed do tell more here, I have contacted the store manager for Tesla in Cork who was handling my order, see what he has to say for himself.

Gutted not sure what my options are now, no interest in paying more or less the same money for a much lesser car.

It was the store manager from Cork who handled my MYJ order in June last year for July registration/delivery. Kinda hippyish bloke. Managed to delay my order despite Tesla usually pushing end of quarter registrations.

Nobody will be paying the same money for a 'lesser' order. If you're bumped to a lower spec, it comes at a lower price, so you'll be charged less.

If you want to take up segmentation and pricing methodology discussions with Tesla Europe I think their details are listed on the Tesla website. Can't see you'll get anywhere though, being realistic.

By any chance was it 'Kelly' who called you 🙂 ?

Anymore details on the BYD discounts. Who were you dealing with? I know someone who might jump ship if he gets that call.

6 months and about 5k km into having the M3H and delighted with it, now even more with the new “standard” being only 1k cheaper and stripped out, in my opinion, quite a bit. By far the best car I ever owned.

Indicator stalk missing on it is a non issue for me (or the OH who drives it too) and while the front camera would be nice I don’t think I miss that either. The only worry I ever had about doing home to Dublin airport and back without needing to charge is now completely forgotten after doing this 3 times, the last one last week where I arrived home with 15% left in the cold weather and doing speed limit and a bit, other 2 occasions I got home with 22% on a 320km round trip.

I’ve no idea what my consumption is as I rarely look at it, just plug the car in once it needs a charge, must look at it.

Managed to get a nail in the tyre too that was fixed by Myelers in Wexford, they did ask for the puck and for me to take the aero cover of as they broke a clip before for someone, had no issue putting it back on. €20 to get it patched. Asked them if they stock EV tyres if I just rocked up to get new ones and was told that it would be an order and a 1-3 day wait, they won’t fit your own ones.

Anyone who sits in it is super impressed, a few of my mates bought it for a spin and really enjoyed it too.

My only gripe, same as most, the wipers are useless at best.

Is that "Fire-Sale" Kelly? Does she still work there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,691 ✭✭✭Redfox25

Kelly might be a made up name just for these calls.

So I wanted a bit more on my trade in offer they gave me at the start of the month, advised to re-apply and they might offer more, they dropped the offer by 3,900. That's some deprecation in a couple of week, told now wait 7 days and re-apply and it might go up. Bonkers.

Plus, you no longer have the lowest spec M3 😁.

The M3 was my favourite car ever, just beating out my FTO Manual Mivec by a hair. The MYJ is super, but i'm more of a saloon, sports car type lover than SUV.

I tend not to watch my range either, except now that we have 3 EVs to charge and our house draws 8kW between 2&6am while topping up the house batteries. The last 2 nights, I had the MY plugged into the main charger. The MS drawing 5A (1kW) from the granny charger (as set in the APP) and the Leaf drawing 10A (2kW). I'll need to get the finger out and start asking about upgrading my supply.

If the local garage doesn't fit the tyres you supply, then go elsewhere. €25-€30 per corner should be more than enough for them to cover their costs for fitting. There are no EV tyres you need to get. Just get the right size, weight bearing and whatever else you need…low dB ideally. I also picked up a puncture last week. Came out after work to a complete flat. My plug kit was just enough to let me put air in and bring her across the road for a proper patch. With only 13k on the clock and the patch holding solid, I think i'll leave her until I need to change the tyres. I'll be ordering them online rather than being ripped off at the garage.

Market could be flooded with folks trading in (Teslas) for the Q1 deliveries, I've done the exact same this morning actually, be interesting to see.
