Go look for something else and you'll find it 😁

Thread is getting picky between its bork fly larvae and borkworm.

That's reminded me of another TA - no sign of the cheese ones in Lidl this year.

A TA that I keep complaining about and it still makes me cross every time. Me unloading groceries onto belt in Aldi. Someone comes along behind me and puts their groceries down halfway down the belt. I continue unloading and then run out of space. This witless one that had put down her stuff was completely absorbed in her phone and hadn't a clue what was going on around her. Meanwhile others had come behind her so she could not have moved them if she wanted to, which she didn't. I ended up stacking things and handing the checkout guy a bag of spuds that there was just no room for.

A woman got on the bus this morning, waving 'phone at driver: "There's no charge on my 'phone" she states - so obviously unable to pay using the FirstBus app - and walks straight onboard and takes a seat. Sorry, but you should have made sure your phone was charged or brought cash or credit/debit card. Next time I use the bus I'll just walk onboard stating "Sorry, there's no cash in my wallet". When I do the weekly shop at Waitrose this Saturday I'll just wheel the trolley past the self-scan check- stating "Sorry there's no credit left in my bank account".

The "Listening Age" Spotify Wrapped has assigned me. I feel a bit personally attacked, I'm not gonna lie…

I'd have plonked my spuds on top of her shopping and thrown eye daggers at her. You're very patient, looksee.

Yes, like when something awful happens. "How did it make you feel?" 🤬

The question for spotting the Autistic. They (I) hate answering that question!

Question: "Your house has collapsed with all your family in it. How did it make you feel?"

Correct response: "Has your face been introduced to my camogie stick, yet?"

Got an email today from a colleague informing me that they will "revert to me on Monday " …oh go f# yourself,I absolutely hate all those stupid buzz words/phrases.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,536 ✭✭✭Princess Calla

Jaysus they are not exactly putting themselves out...Monday

That has to be outside SLA's (service level agreement) more buzzwords (sorry) I'd be giving them a swift reminder.

I've been looking for my slippers since 6 o'clock. I usually walk barefoot around the house, but my toes were cold. I just opened the door to let my line manager (the cat) in. The slippers were outside, beside the wellies I wore earlier. And no, they're not dry.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 30,640 ✭✭✭✭looksee

I'd imagine the wellies were pretty damp too. 😀

I put a mat (one of those rubber backed indistructible things) outside as the cat had thrown up on it. Its still outside. Maybe it will be clean by morning.

It's also eye-wateringly incorrect grammar. To revert means to return to a previous state of being. Unless this person literally *was* you in a previous iteration of some sort, it's both physically and grammatically impossible for them to revert to you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,205 ✭✭✭The Continental Op

Even worse some people insist on adding tautology to incorrect grammar. A mate of mine uses "revert back" in emails and whats even more annoying he keeps up the company speak even in private emails.

Wake me up when it's all over.

I got 64! So 12 years older than my actual age. I wasn't overly annoyed but still…that's nearly OAP territory!!

My 13 year old nephew got 52. 😆

I just checked and I got 64 also, says I'm an old soul.😁

need to grab two pairs of gym bottoms. Online to the site of my trusted retailer and fukkk, prices sky rocketed. €65 for a basic pair of Nike fleece bottoms. Cotton / polyester mix, inexpensive material, plain black with tiny logo on the thigh. I’ll be down €130 for two pairs and get a year out of em if previous experience is anything to go by.

I very cleverly slammed a metal drawer door hard on the top of my finger in work yesterday. It feels weirdly numb this morning. I was also too lazy to shave yesterday eve so I feel like a scruffy hobo this morning.

TA1: I'm helping a colleague out who's drowning in work. I validated an application for him last week and he's contacted me this morning to say that if I'm messaging the applicant I should say option 2 below and not option 1. Behold:

Option 1 - Ceiling Certificate: A ceiling certificate may be required. Please contact your assigned surveyor to discuss this further.
Option 2 - Ceiling Certificate: Please note that the Surveyor assigned to this premises will request this document if required.

They're the same fcuking thing! No gratitude for me helping at all.

TA2: The complaints team emailed us with a complaint on Friday at 3pm. They emailed asking for a follow up at 10am on Monday morning. We finish at 4 on a Friday. So 2 work hours after the first email they're looking for the answer? I emailed back and said we'll contact you once we've had an opportunity to discuss the matter.

TA3: Spotify called me 74. And said my top played song was Keane - Somewhere only we know. Its only top because you keep putting it on all the playlists! This happened with the Killers last year too.

You start at the back but then once you have staked out your bit of the conveyor you can start filling the space in front.

Or maybe the people behind could just wait till you are finished. If you have a lot of stuff its not as though they are going to be caught not unloaded.

Unless… you start from the end and work backwards towards the next customer as the conveyor belt moves. pac.png

TA - people arguing with your TA. Leave me with it! (that's not an admission that I agree with you NH, just lost interest in arguing it 😁)

Stupid people with your same name subscribing to things using your email address. Does my head in. I once had someone open a FB account with my mother's email address so she was getting all the notifications. I sent them a message saying change email address on FB or I'll deal with it myself. Gave them 3 months, reset the FB password and deleted their account. Done. Now she's bought an internet package abroad and my mother is getting all the marketing crap and the copies of the contracts. There's no way I'll get my mother to open a .zip attachment, but FFS, cut the crap, stranger.

Also: all the fake Paypal phone calls I've been getting from the UK, france and the Nordic countries (which, I know full well, don't originate from there). I wish I could send them electric shocks through their phones every time they dial my number.
