Naughton’s place kicking pretty impressive so far.

Madigan has been very complimentary of his technique on Premier.

Scrum very good since bucks and Illo came in

The Scrum that was in trouble looks solid now. Lovely try by Gavin.

New stand looking terrific. Can't wait to travel up to see it when it's opened.

Lineout in opposition 22 still an issue

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,051 ✭✭✭testtech05

That's no worse than the one in the 1st half. Least he is consistent. Haven't noticed this ref before but he's been good. Very clear with his communication

    Impressed with this young referree

    And Denis😟

TBP fantastic. Was sure that try was going to be chalked off

I think by the letter of the law that should be a knock-on tbh, it hits his shoulder even if he's not trying to play the ball.

I really like the cut of Gilbert's jib.

Soft try need to hold out here and not give sharks 2 points

Edit sorry it would be 1 point.

Illo is so powerful in the loose and looks good in the scrum too hopefully he can stay fit

Illo in for another try. 44 v 17.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,410 ✭✭✭SqueakyKneecap

That was a badly needed win. If Naughton can keep his kicking % into the high 70's we'll have uncovered a try gem.

Boyler really is playing the best rugby of his career. Went toe to toe with very strong opposition all night and had a great showing. A real leader in a squad that's lacking on that front.

Hopefully things are starting to click a bit now under Lancaster. There was a lot to like tonight bar some ropey lineouts.

Agreed. Delighted with the result. I wish I could say it was expected but it is what I hoped for with the team selection

    SHL/Jansen/Boyle is our main back-row.
J.Murphy's grint could be raised in 2nd row with one of Murrays (the other on the bench)

Illo is now our n°2 TH, if not n°1

LH still an issue, neither Buck at his age or Duggan/Dooley are impressive

Devine Blade and Murphy are now competing on a par

Ioane is a very good 10 released from kicking burden.

Naughton and Gilbert should be both on the teamsheet, more than Mullins, with Bolton/Hansen

Forde/Gavin with Aki as impact player is the deal

Pretty impressive. Naughton and (hopefully) Gilbert have given us much needed kicking and fifteen options.

Devine still mega for me. Really want him to get more game time.

O'Brien made good metres when he came on, if he can stay fit could be a good impact player.

    Excellent result, well done.

Really liked our focus and attitude throughout. Couldn't pick out a bad performance. Post contact work was unrecognizable from previous outings this year.

Lovely cameos from illo and Gilbert but serious props to Naughton and Boyle who were both excellent all the way through.
