Those are ad breaks in America.

Good half from the bears, I don't think the eagles are just not bothering, we just have a very strong defense, have done all year. Not sure what Johnson was doing on the last drive, seemed to not know whether he wanted to run out the clock or go for it. Just pick a lane, but making risky passes and also not using timeouts was strange. Think we should have done better with the timeouts and could have gotten in field goal range.

with terrible Kevin hart ads. He’s not funny.

Anyway yes the bears team has played well. The eagles run defence is out in the parking lot of the link. Rubbish. The eagles aren’t bothering though which isn’t helping.

I am surprised how bad ye are against the run. We've had one or two really good days running the ball but I'm general it's not been our strength. I think a few adjustments at half time, including in attitude, and the eagles should push on and win this. But I'm happy enough, the bears are a tough team to beat now.

there is so much wrong with the eagles on both sides of the ball. The oline is a mess. The OC is bad.

another 3 and out by the eagles. The former eagles on the bears seem to want to make a point.

Vic fangio defense will never sit still, expect them to be better this half, interesting battle with a Johnson offense, who can outthink the other?

That was an interesting drive, run game is carving them up today, but that fourth down call was just lovely as well.

First Eagles game I've watched in full since the season opener. Wow they're bad.

Disgusted by that tonight. Absolutely awful by everyone involved with the Eagles. Got dominated on every side of the ball. And wtf was that 2 point attempt call after the AJ Brown TD? Making it a 2 possession game instead of a 1 with **** all on the clock.

Fairplay to the Bears, but the Eagles are done for this season imo. Make the playoffs and are one and done.

    UNBELIEVABLE JEFF!

Congrats to the bears fans after tonight.

It’s been an interesting five days for the eagles. That OC for the eagles needs to be fired tonight. He clearly can’t call a gameplan that works to the talent that we do have. The run defense was pathetic tonight, and that is one of the things that was good.

It’s like a less **** version of the 2023 collapse.

Was a shambles on offense in fairness, yeah. Was shocked how bad it was, not all on the oc either, hurts had some shocking throws.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41,900 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

yeah that miss to smith early on was shocking .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,791 ✭✭✭KaiserGunner

Was even worse when you watch it back. Goedert was completely free down the centre for a TD! Cant blame the OC on that. All on Hurts.

Hurts definitely had a bad game, but the playcalling has been an ongoing issue the whole season. We have a pretty easy run for the rest of the season bar the Bills (though the Chargers could give us a lot of trouble with the way we're playing), but we'll get into the playoffs when we really don't deserve to. We'll be very quickly out.

Tonight was a shambles on all sides. They won't get rid of the OC during the season (still currently have an 8-4 record), but on the list of issues to solve for next season, the offensive playcalling has to be high on the list.

I really doesn’t help that our HC looks like he sleeps on a park bench most nights. His comments at the start of the second half about needed to improve in the second half. He should go on mastermind. Muppet.

11 days ago the narrative was how early will the eagles wrap up the East, now it's whether or not they even will.

I think they'll still manage it but I absolutely love how sports writes it's own stories.

Yeah,as the yank saying goes ‘things can turn on a dime’.
    Enjoyed the ‘Thanksgiving’s Day’ games.

I don't mind Sirianni or his comments (most coaches will say the same thing, they're not going to go into any detail or analysis heading back out to the field), but even if he's publicly backing Patullo he needs to be giving him a kick in the hole behind the scenes, and I don't think he's doing that. It's the same problems week after week. There's been no adapting to the fact the O-Line isn't as strong as it was last year and they're being plagued with injuries, and because of that Barkley and Hurts are being largely neutered. But nothing has changed to compensate for that, and now they're becoming so predictable and playing so short and safe that they're being completely destroyed and having to hand the ball back.

Is Met Life stadium one of the most depressing places in the world

Horrible grey colour scheme on the seats , Every time I see it its half empty and the fans are all getting drenched in the stands, you'd think they would have at least put a roof on it to keep the fans dry, seems like an incredibly poorly designed stadium

The night game was a cracker. Well worth the watch.

Can't recall a season like this with so many upsets and no team clearly ahead of the rest.

My own Colts looked almost certain to win the Division, and now mightn't even qualify for the wildcard round. All of the heavy-hitters like the Eagles, Rams, Bills, Chiefs, Lions and Ravens have shown their own inconsistencies as well.

To me, the Broncos look the LEAST inconsistent and keep trucking on, but my god I wouldn't like to be betting big on any team going to distance.

I wouldn't even be betting small on the Broncos because eventually that skin on their teeth that they keep winning by will run out.

But it's a big part of why I prefer NFL over the Premier League; it's not just the same 5 teams being top most of the time and everyone else being an also-ran. Fortunes can change for teams so quickly with just a few personnel changes between each season, or even just because teams run out of steam or are figured out. The landscape of teams for the playoffs this year could be wildly different than last year.

Last year was all about the Eagles, Chiefs, Lions, Vikings, Bills, Ravens and Commanders. This year… f*ck knows.

Patriots all over the Giants early. 10-0 and thru have the ball back again. Still 3 minutes left in the first.

Make that 17-0 with a minute left in the quarter. This could be a real hiding.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,169 ✭✭✭Liamalone

17-7 and Giants have a field goal attempt only for the kicker to pull out of it I think and ended up kicking the ground a good foot in front of the ball lol. Haven't seen that before. The hold didn't look the best in fairness.

Awesome throw by Maye and catch by Williams. Patriots 17 in front again. Fans chanting MVP and if he keeps this up he will be.

Saw a short clip of an interview after the game where he said the bottom of the ball was moving (which it was) so he abandoned the kick.

The question is; what's the alternative? The holder then had to grab the ball, try make some sort of a run or throw and got tackled instead because nobody was ready for that sort of play. Just kick the ball! At worst, you miss. You'd have a good reason as to why it missed if questions were asked but at least you'll have tried. The hold wasn't steady but it's not like the ball was fumbled or the holder was really struggling to get the ball into position.

    Absolutely crazy.

Edit: Actually though, I did find this comment on Reddit which may explain what actually happened:

Basically his plant foot is immediately next to the ball, usually it needs to be about 8-12 inches away but here it looks to be a about 2 or 3. Either the spot was way wrong or the kicker was running to the wrong place. He’s basically just grounding his leg because he’d be nailing the holder if he actually followed through. I kicked for a decade into college and was very very spotty when it came to fgs (more of a punt and kickoff guy), i have never done this, this egregiously. You can miss by an inch and be an athlete and kick the ball, he missed by like 6 inches.

So it may be that he put his plant leg too close to the ball and would have kicked the holder if he'd went for the kick.
