Hope Richard Thompson does a solo show while he's here

He's playing the Mandela Hall, Belfast on the 1st of June and the Guildhall, Derry on the 2nd 🎸

Well I have the early bird tickets....so presently going for the vibes more than the acts.

A bit disappointed with initial announcement given the warm mix of more alternative acts on last year's line up.

Also had 3 "international" acts on last year's first announcement (Jose, the wailers and KT Tunstall) on which we only have Richard Thompson this year. Him and HH Flowers will be enjoyable but for me, dont carry same heft as last years line up. Saw Doctors im sure are a huge draw for lots of people....not for me.

IIl Still be there and enjoying myself but its a bit bland

A disappointing line up to date. Its a bit of a stretch having Hot House Flowers headlining a festival in 2026 at these ticket prices. Paddy Casey is playing pubs these days. I dont think they have not repaid the loyalty of early bird purchasers and all their hopes are on the shoulders of The Saw Doctors to shift the tickets. Needs some serious additions to the lineup or there'll be no 2027 edition.

While a good bit to see and enjoy for me this is the weakest line up since it started

Agreed. Its very very weak. They can forget about the Early Bird sales next year. Top tier pricing for 3rd rate line up. The beginning of the end.

Agree think most people will wait and see the line up next year before buying. Will still have a good weekend I am sure but think there will be gaps for me in terms of bands I will enjoy and top line very weak compared to previous. HHF played a few years ago and not headline and now are?

Hopefully not the start of the end as have been going since year 1 have had great weekends, met great people, some great music and the people behind it are very sound. Hopefully just a curation blip or lack of suitable bands available.

Its a pity really it had a potential to be a good fest for the mid west region, but its struggling to get eclectic popular acts and the line ups for Wild Roots went downhill too, although WR did shoot themselves in the foot by not paying some of their bills. I hope it survives and I make it, to it some day. Sometimes festivals can only manage to get a mediocre line up the odd year.

Im not at all plussed about the lineup, Im going purely to spend the weekend camping with the kids.

You just can't charge those kind of prices for tickets and churn a lineup out like that. Unacceptable to say they are allowed a blip year. It should be building and improving year on year. Look at how Forest Fest in Laois has improved each year.

Example of annoying line up choice this year is David Geraghty playing solo. Bell X1 are touring this summer with headline shows. Why didn't they book BellX1 instead of David solo?

Yea looking at a day ticket and €110 seems expensive for that lineup

    Wonder if more announcements?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,722 ✭✭✭Fanirish

cause bell X1 are doing massive headline shows in Galway, limerick, cork and Dublin and those essentially rule out any festivals.

And also Bell X1 played Night and Day in 2024 so that quick of a return would not be good

Fingers crossed we get more. If they have shifted enough tickets on the early birds then maybe not too many more to come but that will catch up on them in 2027.

I take your Point but you could also apply that logic to Hothouse Flowers who played in 2023

"No campervan passes for Volunteers 2026".

Surely a mistake move? Considering the majority of volunteers are older and with a camping vehicle. As much as the complaints were in 2025, at least allowed out in the sticks (non luxury).
