I was only joking really 😊 Retro in 2005 was games from ~20 years before, like the 360 to today.

Retro to me is just a machine which types out "Everyone should play Ace Combat 7" when anyone uses AC to refer to Assassin's Creed or Animal Crossing.

I've some terrible news for you., you're old. You might not think it but the 360 and PS3 are retro. They e been out 20 years and their successors were 12 years ago. It might not feel it because graphics have improved more slowly. There's kids that are drinking age whose first controls was a 360 and PS3. I've had kids on the bus talk under their breath about me playing the 3DS as being weird (in fairness they were commenting on how the 3DS games were amazing and how Mario 3D land that I was playing was a banger so there is hope for them.

Oh I know I'm old. Damn kids. I just dont agree! I'll stick with classic! I do forget when talking to the nieces/nephews though and make references to games that they were not alive for...

This is actually a few years out of date, but when I saw this first, I was thunderstruck.

Damnit I knew there was another AC with multiple games and I couldn't think of it! 😂

I was talking to the intern in work and how my first Xbox was the Xbox 1 and took me a while to realize he thought I was talking about the Xbox ONE and they didn't realize there was an Xbox before the 360.

I'll allow it. And I'll use it as an excuse to remind people to play Armored Core 6 because it's the best action game since Ace Combat 7 and people are sleeping on it.

Finished Ninja Gaiden 4 and it’s that rarest of video game beasts: the game that’s best in its second half!

The coolest weapons are all in the late game, and the levels get a lot tighter and pacier at the same time. It feels like it comes alive mechanically, and there are more duels against similarly agile foes which is nice. Bit of a spoiler below:

You have to replay abridged versions of each level and boss again as Ryu. Which is not as bad as it sounds because they’re really short levels and Ryu’s moveset is deeply satisfying in action. Absolutely mows through the mobs and bosses alike. Each level here is only 10-20 minutes compared to the other, much longer runs earlier on.

Did not find it particularly hard overall (the final boss took two tries), though I did use items as the game was throwing them at me. Harder modes and no item runs would no question be tougher, but I’m happy with my normal run… and my free GamePass month expires tomorrow 😅

If you’re in the mood for a DMC / Bayonetta style character action game, this is a pretty good one! Have got the hankering for a more traditional Ninja Gaiden though. I see NG 2 Black is on sale at the moment…
