It's the first sentence on a famous English learning book, allegedly one of the first sentences French-speaking people learn when studying English and one of the sentences they struggle to pronounce properly at first.

    https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_tailor_is_rich

It was used in sketches like this Louis De Funès one, in Asterix, etc.

Can someone please tell me where Saturday went? How is today Sunday? Surely yesterday was Friday... and I didn't see any spaceships so I don't think I was abducted for 24 hours…

Anyone who says or thinks they are “great craic” normally isn’t. All very forced.

Reminds me of “forced fun” at Christmas time. Nothing organic and natural about it.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Cheers. I'd honestly never heard of that. I'll have to speak to my parole officer about getting out a bit more.

Christmas in November nonsense (and Oct, Sept, famously not known for being xmas time) deserves a lot more pushback.

Businesses selling sh1te mainly are taking the absolute piss.

    1st world TIA

Had spent 48 hours with an open chat window with ChatGPT , where I initially asked it to produce a 3d printer file to create a (flat) christmas decoration (silhouette) from a photo of my dog …. It said no problem, load the photo and tell me a few details …. and then there was something else, and something else, and so on. A long list of "i cant do that right now, the processor / engine / software function to analyse the pic is not avail, i will let you know when its free" - or some variation on that. Every few hours I would open the window and ask for an update, and it would say "still no available processor, do you want to sign up for chatgpt pro and avoid restrictions?" ….. after 2 days of this, I asked it was it trying to process my photo when i wasnt online, and it said "no, it doesnt do background processing" - it just tries every time i come back online - i kept asking for updates then every few minutes, and chatgpt eventually told me that it cant do it in this conversation, that I need to close this one and start a new one - i smelled a rat, but i had to do it - guess what happened …. I started a new chat and it didnt know what I was asking for in the new chat!!! I explained, and it asked me to load a pic so it could it, then it said I had reached my limit and had to wait 4 hours to load the pic….. I strenuously objected and explained to the new chat that the old chat told me to close the window which means the loaded pic is gone . After a lot of too & fro , chatgpt eventually said it could not and never could produce a 3d printer file from a photo! 2 days wasted by Rider !! It had the nerve to ask me did I want a unix script to load into photoshop (or something like that) so that I could make the 3d file myself …..

TIA #2 - i got into a fight with a chat bot !!! who is the fool really?!

Bought a new tube of moisturiser as I thought the old one was coming to an end. That was 2 months ago and the old one is still going strong. Stupid opaque bottles.

TA #2 - Husband's sunrise alarm clock came on at 6am this morning instead of 7am. He forgot to put it back to the correct time after an early flight last week. Woke me up, but not him of course!

That's the most annoying way to pronounce it! 🤪

I won't be giving my version because I just opt out by not talking about cars normally.

This morning's trivial announcement is about parents and their precious teenagers. I've often hear people complain about parents blocking the roads around schools at the start and finish of the school day, but I've a different variant of it.

Since the start of the new school year, a 54-seater bus has been picking up secondary students at the entrance of my workplace, in a business park/industrial estate set-up. Some of the parents parking just inside the entrance, even though their kid has gotten out of the car and is waiting to get on the bus with their classmates. Other using the entrance to do a U-turn as the student gets out of the car, but is blocked by another parent doing the same, and bonus points if the bus has just arrived to block all of them, as well as every other driver on the road.

All this, and there isn't a school anywhere near the place. 🙄

When you do something you don't have to do in work because it'll help someone else.

And you do it quickly, because you have your own work todo; but still save 90% of their time.

And they complain because you didn't follow the process.

    **** Off !!

And then they act annoyed when people don't take the initiative.

    **** Off !!

Workers in public facing roles - I don't care what their nationality is but they need to have decent English skills. I had to ask a person in a shop a fairly simple question three times before he had to call the manager to translate.
