Imo the reason Co finals such a big deal as in the past is because there's so many matches week after week hurling and football.

Not so long ago you'd have a special pull out in the local paper, with pen pics of the players, previews and reports on games of the past. Nowadays with so much to cover, a senior Co final will be covered the same as u14 camogie C' final. Sad but it's reality unfortunately

There is certainly a feel of an end of an era. The form of the players you mention were on the downward trajectory this season with maybe Dan Morrissey and Quaid being the exception. Time stands for no man and it is only natural that once players hit their 30s the speed and energy can wain. The conundrum for JK however is are these players while not at their peak better than the talent coming through. Players coming to the end of their careers can often reinvent themselves, work that bit harder in training and find a new energy for a season or two. I would expect this team to give it everything for the coming season. It might be the last hurrah for many of them. It's hard to see Limk dominating like 18-23 again but certainly they will be in the top 3 contenders next season.
