Text of the agreement signed yesterday between Egypt, Qatar, Turkey and the US which mentioned nothing about a couple of very important points that will need discussing at some point.

    Niccolò Machiavelli :

"To ally with great powers to defeat your neighbour is a strategic trap; if you win, you become the slave of the greater power; if the allied power is defeated, you remain alone and defenceless against the angry neighbour, and you are destroyed." - Niccolò Machiavelli

Clueless. This has been addressed multiple times. It’s gonna blow your mind when you realise who supported and funded Hamas. Hint; it wasn’t the UN or the west.

It’s just going round in circles with you, you say stuff that’s easily refuted and debunked but you don’t want to listen. That’s frustrating enough but to keep coming back and repeating the same things that have already been dealt with… it just derails the whole thread. Do you read anything here or is it just somewhere for you to type whatever thoughts come into your head on a daily basis?

In September 2023, the Garda’s intelligence chief told the Irish Examiner that the Special Detective Unit (SDU) was investigating around 60 cases of suspected financing of terrorism every year, most relating to monies destined for IS-type terror groups.

    That's how.

No, since most of those were collateral damage.

Imagine saying this about innocent babies and children being murdered ,the complete lack of empathy is astounding i just cant wrap my head around it how can any normal human being think like this.

So Hamas didnt Syphon off money. I wish we had them as our politicians. no brown envelopes, no bribery. Veritable choir boys.

As for derailing. I'm not the one passing of grimm fairytales as facts.

Collateral damage is the unsavoury part of war. Do you wrong your hands over every child killed in every war?

I think you need to be aware that almost all posters on this thread still defending Israels conduct against Gazans after 24 months are either extremely gullible to a ridiculous degree, radicalised, or they are sociopaths.

Almost each and every one has displayed an inhuman level of heartlessness that I have personally never witnessed in real life, and almost each and every one are frequent and unashamed liars.

When pushed to backup nonsense claims, they ignore them, and it doesn't bother them one iota when they lie or are caught lying. They keep marching on spouting baseless nonsense that either supports/ explains away the mass killing of innocents.

Don't know if you have contributed to this thread much, but you'll have a happier life if you don't read it, lots more like the above....

You are prone to a few tropes yourself.

Can you back up or provide proof for your claim that virtually all international humanitarian, medical and legal organisations are antisemetic please (well conveniently, just the ones that have recognised the genocide in Gaza)?

Can you also provide proof that they are under political pressure to declare it as such?

Can you show us your source for the claim that the Gazan population has grown since October 7th 2023?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,055 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

But all that was happening in November was a vote among the members on Israel's participation, a perfectly democratic process (especially as the EBU is effectively a club or union). Totally unclear why the vote was cancelled…..were the bosses afraid of the result?

I have a question for you on collateral damage, as clearly you think taking out a majority of civilians to kill Hamas is ok at the level it has happened at so far ( previous posters pointed out, IDF numbers list an 80% civilian casualty rate Vs combatant).

Is there an upper limit to the number of Gazan civilians you would be ok to see killed, in order to eradicate Hamas?

Are we talking about who funded Hamas or Hamas siphoning off money? You claimed they were funded by the UN, when pushed on that now the claim is they siphoned money.

How does that even make sense anyway? They siphoned money that was given to them?

You’ve just denied derailing while in the very same post you’ve derailed. You’re all over the place.

And what have I said that was passing off fairytales as fact? There is plenty of evidence that Netanyahu funded and promoted Hamas. You have literally zero proof for the rubbish you posted about the UN and the west funding Hamas, you’re in no position to fact check anyone.

€6m to a state (or more accurately to a territory of a state) with no government. Are they giving it to Hamas or Israel? Neither a very trustworthy entity I'd argue

Can we quit calling everyone antisemitic.

Israel has damn good PR. Their lobbyists are amazing at pushing Israels talking points and getting their aims. This isn't a conspiracy. They are just really good at it.

And one of the things they use is to conflate criticism of Israel with antisemitism. So if anyone condemns Israeli actions, they're antisemitic. It effectively shuts down discussion.

Do you wring your hands over any child killed in any war?

I am unsure as to when it became a pre-requisite for someone's determination between right and wrong that they first identify and exhaustively list out every other similar wrong committed anywhere else in the world.

I guess it still holds power in the heads of the most historically tunnel visioned, such as Shatter.

Heather's excuses around the letter for the animal cruelty case that was dropped were pathetic. "I glanced at the letter".

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,644 ✭✭✭newport2

Not to mention that conflating criticism of Israel's actions with antisemitism, ie with all Jewish people, is among the most antisemitic things you can do.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,024 ✭✭✭✭Tony EH

    It effectively shuts down discussion

    That's the point.

Why not discuss matters with people who are genuinely here for discussion, instead of glorified trolls who have nothing to offer but empty accusations and made up gibberish?

With how things are playing out in Palestine at the moment there's plenty on the table for discussion, like why Trump thought it was a good idea to let the HAMAS leadership slink off to Qatar, or how does the current ceasefire affect the ICJ's ruling with regards to Netanyahu and his gang of criminals. What is it about Qatar that persuaded Trump that now was the right time to dust off Biden's peace plan when it's been on the table for 18 months?

Beats the hell out wasting time on clowns that just want to call everything "antisemitic" because they have nothing else to say.

If we quit claiming that jews rule the world and are to be blamed for everything bad happening in Gaza. If we quit claiming that they orchestrated the October 7th attacks. If we quit claiming they deliberately kill babies. You see, there's a lot of quitting to be done before quit calling everyone antisemitic.

Not everyone is doing that so logically calling everyone antismemtic is wrong. You are just making yourself looked biased by calling everyone anti-Semitic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,668 ✭✭✭Cordell

I specifically called antisemitic a post literally saying that "Israel still has the West in a vice grip". That's an antisemitic trope, used to justify all bad things done to them including the Holocaust.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,327 ✭✭✭Sudden Valley

You specifcally wrote "You see, there's a lot of quitting to be done before quit calling everyone antisemitic."

Read the al Jazeera article. Even they say there's no evidence and suggest these guys refused help from Israel before Israel bombed them for doing so.

Videos are surfacing already of public executions by HAMAS on those they accuse of collaborating. I'm rapidly losing respect for them again. Gazans have swapped one oppressive regime for another. Maybe one day they'll be free but never under HAMAS.

I'm on the verge of a site ban. Please don't rage bait me, I'm easily triggered especially late at night!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,055 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

If a Jewish person makes the "vice grip" statement, are they being antisemitic?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,668 ✭✭✭Cordell

That's a loaded question that doesn't deserve an answer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,055 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

You're equating the Israeli state and government with Judaism and the Jewish religion. Even many Jewish people speak about the pernicious influence of the 'Zionist lobby' (a very real phenomenon).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,661 ✭✭✭Miniegg

You also called the below institutions antisemetic amongst many others (and have still provided no proof). Some of these are Israeli.

Do you think you are a good and fair arbiter of antisemetism, or perhaps you don't know what the word means?

It seems like you think antisemitic is a word that describes people Cordell doesn't like?

The desperation to blame the Israelis is just comical.

This is just good old fashioned Arab on Arab violence. Hamas want Palestinean Nationalism while the Doghmush just want a Islamic state. Theres a bit of a power vacuum so both are trying to dominate to take that gap.

But obviously Israel have to be somehow blamed.

Ah yes, the Doghmush Clan, described by John Mc Guirk as “the Gazan opposition” as if they were a political party.
