VIENNA, October 12, 2025 (WAFA) – Thousands of people demonstrated in the Austrian capital, Vienna, on Saturday evening in support of Palestine and to demand sanctions on Israel over acts of genocide committed in the Gaza Strip over the past two years.

The protest was held with the participation of more than 50 civil society organizations, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemning the crimes of the Israeli occupation.

Demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and held banners calling for sanctions on Israel, while chanting slogans such as “Boycott Israel” and “Europe funds, Israel bombs.”

It did.. how many times does it have to be said that we all know both sides fought and killed pre October, 2023.. but this part of their feud (the most intense) started 2 years ago because Hamas scum, who absolutely have support and encouragement and facilitation by Palestinians (not all) butchered hundreds and hundreds of Israeli people.

And here: people bringing up this “the war didn’t start two years ago” are mostly the ones who just want to pile and pile as much blame to Israel in this. It’s not because they are caring for Palestinisns.

This war has been going on since 1948.

Stop showing your ignorance and uneducation, and perhaps go read a history book or two

This is a disgrace and shows again that Israel wants Palestinians to die rather than receive medical treatment. Everything is about ethnic cleansing and stealing Palestinian land before then taking the land of neighbouring countries.

Israel has said it will not release two detained Palestinian doctors, including paediatrician Hussam Abu Safiya, as part of the ceasefire deal, a Hamas official told CNN.

Safiya was beaten and kidnapped by Israeli forces in Gaza during a raid on Kamal Adwan Hospital in December last year after he refused to abandon patients under siege.

Footage in the aftermath of the attack showed Safiya wearing a white medical overcoat crossing a street strewn with rubble.

The Israeli military said Safiya was being held as a "suspect" and being questioned over "potential involvement in terrorist activity".

Safiya has been held since then without charge.

Despite the agreement to swap captives as part of a ceasefire deal earlier this week, a Hamas source said that Safiya would not be released.

"The occupation refused to release Dr Hussam Abu Safiya," a Hamas official told CNN on Friday.

Clearly incapable of reading what I wrote. We all know about their decades long feuding..you’re just insanely one-sided in your views!

Only zionists are claiming that the war started on the date Palestinians attacked them.

Machado disgraces the idea of a peace prize.

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, who won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, said that if elected, she will move her country’s embassy in Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Anadolu reports.

“I believe and I can announce that our government will move our Israeli embassy to Jerusalem,” Machado said in an interview with an Israeli channel.

“I promise one day, we’ll have a close relationship between Venezuela and Israel. That will be part of our support to the State of Israel,” she added.

In 2009, Venezuela, under Hugo Chavez, severed diplomatic relations with Israel and expelled the Israeli ambassador in protest against the 2008-2009 Gaza War.

This news extract includes an estimate of 20,000 dead Palestinians under the rubble of their homes. Between respect for the dead and the risk from unexploded bombs, there is a need for Israel to evacuate some cities so that temporary shelter can be provided to the displaced Palestinians while Gaza is being rebuilt. The rubble from the rebuilding should be dumped outside Tel Aviv as a constant reminder of the genocide.

The bodies of approximately 200 martyrs have been recovered from various areas across the Gaza Strip, most of them in Gaza City, according to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent. The victims were killed in what Palestinians have described as a genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation.

At the same time, an estimated 20,000 people remain missing, with rescue teams and civilians continuing to search under rubble in areas heavily bombed during the occupation’s military campaign.

    The reality?

Let me ask you how clued into reality you are.

It is almost unanimous across the spheres of International law, Humanitarian aid organizations, Medical groups, genocide academia (inside Israel and the USA, and outside) that this is genocide.

Many of these groups and the people within them are experts in their fields, have identified these circumstances before throughout the world, have hundreds and hundreds of years of experience between them all, and have used this collective experience and applied it to the mountains of evidence they have collected.

Can you explain how all of them have gotten it wrong, and why anybody should listen to you?

    I have Brendan.

And I don't believe for a second all of them have gotten them wrong. It f*ckin ridiculous.

Do you think they have? Can you explain why/ how?

It's amazing how Irish people discussing Israel and Palestine become Israeli/Palestinian.

No talking to either side. What a f*cking monumental waste of time.

I cannot be bothered with genocide supporters so on the grey you go

It's 100% a Zionist narrative and designed to get Israel off the hook for multiple war crimes. "We are victims here, we did nothing to provoke October 7th, we are fighting for our very survival, how did you expect us to respond to the attacks" etc.

It's an ongoing 70 year conflict; Hamas dramatically escalated things on Oct 7th and then Israel responded with a two year genocide.

    Disgusting.

When innocent civilians are deliberately targeted they aren't "casualties of war" they're victims of murder.

Three Qatari embassy diplomats killed and two injured in a car accident in Egypt. All were due to take part in ceasefire talks tomorrow. I bet life insurance for negotiators in this conflict must be sky high by now.

They had a fender bender, and shells in the glovebox bounced loose and entered their skulls. So important to tie things down in a car

Jared , '' when I think of the barbaric assault of Oct 7th, it fills me with so much pain, I'll never be the same, thankfully the great state of Israel didn't respond the same''

Or something along those lines. Butchered women, and children, aid workers and doctors, nurses and teachers, while trying to starve population to death.

    Nutjob

What a ceasefire is in reality

On October 10, a ceasefire in Gaza was officially announced. International news media were quick to focus on what they now call “the peace plan”. United States President Donald Trump, they announced, will go to Cairo to oversee the agreement and then to Israel to speak at the Knesset. The air strikes over Gaza, they reported, have stopped.

The bombs have indeed stopped, but our suffering continues. Our reality has not changed. We are still under siege. Israel still has full control over our air, land and sea; it is still blocking sick and injured Palestinians from leaving and journalists, war crimes investigators and activists from going in. It is still controlling what food, what medicine, and essential supplies enter.

The siege has lasted over 18 years, shaping every moment of our lives. I have lived under this blockade since I was just three years old. What kind of peace is this, if it will continue to deny us the freedoms that everyone else has?

Another “blood libel” Sean? Israel have a history of deploying booby trapped items disguised as such things as toys, especially in Lebanon.

I watched a discussion between Benjamin Netenyahu and Ben Shapiro recently. Netenyahu listed a long list of “anti semitic” blood libels. Among those dismissed was the poisoning of wells by Israel.

Do you regard the poisoning of wells by Israel a fact or an anti semitic blood libel?

He's right. Hamas won't be going away, what's happening now is a re-branding exercise. Whatever name that Hamas Nua eventually decides on, it will still be run by the same people. There won't be any demilitarization, nor will there be free and fair elections.

Why do you think there won’t be free and fair elections?

There hasn't been elections in Gaza in 20 years, why would Hamas break a habit of a generation?

Why do you think it was suspect? It seems to have been at night, I presume the driver was speeding when he hit the kerb on a bend? I don't think anyone would attack Qataris at the moment.
