It was a great kick, but that's in the indoor stadium in Dunedin. Can he do it in the sportsground with a south-northerly wind throwing sand from the dog track into his eyes?

Sean o Brien in for Boyle the only change form team named last week. Boyle drops out of squad altogether with hurley Langton taking his position on bench. Hoping its nothing too serious with him

Think it's paternity leave for Boyle according to craggy rugby.

Gilbert looks to have had another big game Otago, scored a try and drop goal in their latest win and are 2nd in the league and in the Semi Finals next week

JJ was a good offload. And Healy is so bad. And we think we have problems at 10

True that, but still hurting to watch Tom Farrell tearing it up. He carried that Munster back line alone. A shocking decision to release him.

That's great news for him, congratulations Boyler!

You have to thank a coaching staff for that. All said he was the real deal and now that he has someone who believes in him at Munster he is flourishing. I'm delighted for him. He deserved better than his treatment at Connacht

Anyone traveling to the Montpellier game in January? Most flights to airports close to Montpellier are seasonal. Does anyone know of the flights available. I see the charter with the team is available but at 500 per person it's a bit on the expensive side

This is as bad as anything from the Wilkins era, we haven't gotten off the bus. Painful to watch, we've numbered up reasonably in defence but haven't asked any questions of Cardiff whatsoever. Can only hope we see a reaction in the second half.

The ball protection is woeful. Big cop on needed because we'd be well in it if we didn't give such soft turnover penalties to lads like Callum feckin Sheedy.

    What was that delay for?

I thought there were at least 2 blatant Cardiff knock ons in our favour there before the one they reviewed and gave to Cardiff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,407 ✭✭✭SqueakyKneecap

We're making Cardiff look like prime-bully Springboks here. Such brutal lines and have to say Murphy has stunk the place out all night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,413 ✭✭✭realhorrorshow

He hasn't been great but to be fair to him it doesn't help that we don't have any shape and noone seems to know where to be as early as second phase.

Only 4 down, 1 score game. Connachts kicking is desperate

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 368 ✭✭Strand1970

If Cardiff were any way decent we be losing by a big score

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,407 ✭✭✭SqueakyKneecap

I know they missed a week but some of these mistakes are criminal even if it was a preseason.

To be fair it was a great tackle by sheedy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,407 ✭✭✭SqueakyKneecap

Ah lads that is pathetic. Constantly on the backfoot and an intercept to top it all off.

Not one fella bar Moose turned up today.

Break away try, turned over to soccer to see Ireland just conceded in injury time goal. Balls

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,407 ✭✭✭SqueakyKneecap

Probably only just about value for a losing bonus point but we made Cardiff look a lot better than they are.

I can't get over how easily they were driven back and the support at the breakdown was non-existent for nearly the entire game. The annoying thing is after 5 minutes they were running great support lines and find gaps.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,413 ✭✭✭realhorrorshow

I guess a point is an ok return from a tricky tie but that performance was absolutely atrocious. We looked badly prepared, and I have no clue what we were trying to achieve with our selection and tactics.

So frustrating after a decent start to the season.

Let us not speak of this again ;)

Think the options are basically plane + train from either Paris (train 3.5hrs) or Lyon (train 2 hrs). Lyon will easier to manage.

    Good Bonus Point!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 599 ✭✭✭ShineyShiney

I thought we would nick it at the death as we were pushing hard until the intercept.

We hung in well despite losing the battle in the air and at breakdown and while we didn't look great I thought the fight was there.

A bonus point away with a very young team isn't nothing even though it's disappointing.

SHL is a gem of a player.

The only positive I found was SHL needs to be starting when fit. He just seemed to lift the whole team when he came on.

Besides that and better defense not much to be positive about. I think Rod has a bit of work to do to try and get some kind of attacking plan going.

I thought Murphy was poor too. I don't think he had to kick as much in any game last season and a lot or them weren't very good. I thought they could have sprung Devine sooner
