House rental for €26k per week. I bet you have a buddy who would put you up, for a lot less than that!

A new captain for each home event sounds reasonable and if they do well with the players they have, preferably securing the win, they should be given the option of the more difficult away trip. With that said I wouldn’t be outraged if Donald was given another go. He seems to be good at this.

Hatton really exceeded my expectations, so outwardly calm under pressure this week. He kept regular Tyrell under firm wraps.

Maybe there was much more f bombing and cursing that he got drowned out by the fans.

In fairness he looked to have a completely different demeanor that the usual one we've come to expect.

Listen to that and other American podcasts , they are now trying to rewrite the narrative, Azinger having a go at Rory despite what Rory had to put up with for the first four matches, the money side of things brought up by saying the the USA donate more than the euros and the but Rome was worse claim in some of their pods.

They are trying to deflect on a Trumpian level.

Fair play to Matt Fitzpatrick I see he called out some of the comments from the PGA president I think it was downplaying the whole thing

Americans always want to change the narrative on their shameful incidents. Its somebody else's fault, whataboutery, etc.

No way houses go for that much, did think about renting but decided not to, would prefer to be around for the week myself, biggest thing to ever come to Limerick.

I was pleasantly surprised that Trump didn't send out a tweet congratulating Team USA on their comprehensive victory in the Ryder Cup.

Changing the narrative seems a little bit too soft to describe what is going on in that country. He would make Kim Jong Un blush.

I have heard of houses in Kerry being put up for 20-30k for the week. Maybe they won't get anything near that but a friend has a stunning house down there and that was the ballpark he had seen... Needless to say, he was considering it.

TBH Bradley and one or two people stirred the whole fan / "local support" pot before it even began. All it would have taken was Bradley and a few players to say to respect the players, (To be fair to the players, they seemed very respectful, JT and one of two others tried to quieten the crowd down over shots), rather than stir the pot and lean on the "home support, and how it'll be wild and raucous". Bradley (not just Bradley) went down a bit in my expectations over his handling of it all, especially the whole thing about the envelope rule, looking for excuses, sour grapes etc. Even as things got borderline after day 1, US PGA could have made an announcement to remind fans to respect players etc. It backfired though as Mcilroy said, how many of them were actually cheering their own as opposed to just trying to distract and rile the Europeans. Personally for me if I was playing and my opponent was getting abused it would also affect and distract me. For them to then come out and compare it to Rome to again try justify it, took Tom Watson to come out and actually say it as it was. Europe simply played better and had the better team spirit (Credit to Donald for this) but they seemed to have an incredible team morale, spirit and togetherness unlike the Americans, and I think that's what got Europe over the line.

Lets face it, Bradley only got the job because people felt sorry for him after the Full Swing sob story. He went on to send out some terrible combinations.

He could have asked the fans to respect the European players, especially when it became apparent it was impacting his own players more!

A dreadful choice of captain, but the US have had a good few of them.

From the Ryder Cup organisers, not me!

Prices are listed per bedroom, and the sliding scale takes into account two criteria: the quality of the property and its distance from Adare Manor. A five-star, four-bedroom property within walking distance of Adare Manor could earn homeowners €25,600.

I thought the 4-in-a-row would have been bigger :)

Yeah Bradley's poor handling of :

    1. The Bethpage, NY boisterous badger crowd factor
    2. The course set up
    3. His selection of pairings
    4. His obstinate doubling down on his poor day 1 pairings for selection on day 2 (e.g. including apparently a 232nd worst potential pairing re data analysis to play again together for a 2nd time!? & Even when he had a data analytics company employed !?!?!.... 'does not compute'.... :)
    5. Even his selection of which player was to play the odds & evens within those pairings had to be remedied by the US caddies apparently ( even in amateur golf, this is a basic requirement of any team manager to optimise a pairing's respective strengths for any course they'll play together)
    6. He totally ignoring the rowdy antics of a large section of the crowd, not saying anything whatsoever to help, when even the PGA & police had already to up their ante with more police & dogs to avert it getting even worse!
    7. And finally his sour grapes deflection of the loss, by trying to blame the 'envelope rule'. A total red herring imho, especially as Hovland was odds on to win his match anyway, & regardless, the final winning score was 15-13 to Europe, so it was not decided by a 1/2 point !?

Overall he was a really poor US captain imho. Tbf, they are probably a hard bunch of selfish egos to manage. However, his captaincy contrasted in almost every way with the superb & steadfast Luke Donald. Europe were at least 1 up before ever a ball was struck in NY as a result, imho. But apparently, the PGA were desperate for a captain, so they got bumbling Bradley. But tbf, he's not alone in being a very poor US Ryder Cup Captain, thankfully...

    Long may it continue!! :)

    Yep that sums it up.

He only got the gig as a sympathy vote for his appearance on Full Swing. Why didn't he decline? He surely could have said "no, I'm hoping to play for now". Unless he's another of the many egomaniacs in America these days.

I bet no European player who thought he had a chance of making the cut would have taken the captaincy if it was offered to them.

Thomas was in a bit of a bind, trying to change the fans’ booing of our lads into cheering for the home team. I think he would have been better off not bothering because they were always going to stick with the negative stuff once they had started. We know how quiet Munster rugby fans are when a kick is being taken and I sincerely hope the same will apply two years hence.

I really don't have any concerns about 'fan' behaviour at the Ryder Cup in Adare, tbh. Firstly, Irish people have loads of foibles (myself included), but we tend to be very welcoming & mannerly towards visitors, while still passionately supporting our own team. And that's the way it should be too, imho.

Secondly, the Americans who travel, will tend to be the better class of American supporter, to be frank.

The only slight issue, I could possibly see there would be with some Ryder Cup event junkies from the UK & a few other parts of Europe 🇪🇺, who hopefully don't adopt the kind of behaviour at the latest Ryder Cup as the new normal. However I don't think this will happen either, tbh.

So overall, I'd be very optimistic that Adare will mark a welcome reset to a proper, welcoming & hopefully great event all round, done Irish style. In short, 'different gravy' !!!

P.s. there'll certainly be no need for armed police , with dogs here anyways ! :)
