Done for a cost to change of 3000 this morning against a pre reg 252 sportage PHEV. Lots more headroom getting in and out and he was very happy with sportage. Doing the changeover on Tuesday.

I was happy with price, I also think hes happy to go with a PHEV too and never be worried about public charging, not that it was an issue but you know yourself.

Sounds like a good deal enough there, hope he's happy with it.👍

Was better than I thought. Fair play to the dealership and salesman, very easy process. Looked at ev3, headroom was better than ev6 but still didnt like it overall. Sportage was better again.

Very similar inside to ev6 as regards controls and screens look identical so no learning curve. Heated and cooled seats, at least in the front I never checked the back.

Overall I personally prefer the ev6 but seeing now how you pay a price for style and the sloping roof. But sportage is nice too, if a little too generic for me.

Sounds a great deal, what would that Sportage cost new ?

50k on kia configurator on website, it was a pre reg they had on sale for 46k

    So 43k for the ev6.

Pretty much identical interior to EV6 apart from different layout in central console due to having a gearbox but apart from that, all very familiar.

Fed up of this car at this stage. I have so many issues. The 12V battery was flat yesterday after an appointment that myself and my wife were at with our baby.

After an hour AA came out and jump started it and said it should be ok if you drive it for twenty minutes to recharge the battery. It's dead this morning.

It's a 231 and I bought it as a show model last year and I have documented all the issues it has had in here. The Kia dealership I bought from are not responding to me. Anyone got any advice on who to contact?

Edit - to add, I had the whole charging unit replaced as the fast charger wouldn't work, the ICCU also popped a few months ago and that was replaced, I had the hassle with the Android auto, that was eventually replaced after me being persistent. I also had a windscreen wiper issue where a sensor was miscalibrated but it cost me multiple trips in and being told it was just a faulty wiper, then it works fine when there is water on it which was all bs.

Looks like 12v battery is on way out. Kia won't replace under warranty as only 24months on 12v battery. My advise is assuming ICCU has no issues/replaced that you get battery in Halfords and replace yourself.. Then buy a Noco boost jump pack so ur never caught out again. It's bad form from Kia, I'd same experience with 23 EV6 also

I got a jump starter in Halfords and jump started it this morning and brought it to my local Kia garage (not where I bought it). 12V battery needed to be replaced. 140 euro to fit it. Not many cheaper options in Halfords. I presume the Halfords jump starter will be grand for the future. I know the noco is more expensive.

They also sell the booster packs for 40 euro in Aldi. The guy in Kia told me he recommends them to anyone with an electric car.

I think the 12v battery is going in my EV6 as well. Is there any specific battery people would recommend?

Think I got my battery in Halfords for €65 (60ah) with colleague's trade card and fitted myself. Good you got sorted. I've the Noco which is good but more expensive than aldi one. Aldi one would be fine as for the EV all you need it for is to close relay to engage HV battery.. Might pick one up for the young lad later 👍

See what Halfords match and make sure in at least same amphour as one in EV6 currently. The AGM batteries are meant to be the best and last the longest but way more expensive than traditional wet batteries

Are the ICCU/12v battery issues that so many seem to be finding resolved on the newer models of the EV6? Thinking of getting one soon, but a recurring issue like this would be very off putting.

    Hi all,

replaced my e-Niro for EV6 last week and I am getting a little low range figures, around 400 km. It is 241 Earth version, is this normal? what kind or range are you getting? I was hoping to get to around 500km..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 7,109 ✭✭✭Buddy Bubs

Is that on the predicted range on the dashboard or what you're actually getting in reality?

If you are getting 400 to a full charge you are doing ok WLTP is just a bit over 500, which is almost impossible to achieve.

Of course hard to tell if its good or not it all depends on the type of driving you do

    drive mode? Try eco

I have a 241 since April. Was getting around the WLTP (530\540) during the summer when doing local driving (traffic etc.). This was measured (i.e. 270km on 50% of the battery).

In the last month or so the range has gone down to ~460\470 (I guess due to the colder weather).

Obviously it goes down further when doing motorway miles\speeds.

As mentioned, if you are basing your figures on the guessometer, this will be impacted by the driving style of the previous owner as you have only had it a week.

Hi you won't get 500kms this time of year onwards.. I've GT Line (20 inch wheels) and wtlp is 505kms which I've seen surpassed in warmest summer weather. Last weekend on full charge I saw 470kms and achieving more or less that over lots of driving at weekend. As you drive the car more that figure ur seeing should improve but you won't see 500kms till next summer unfortunately

Just paid the deposit today on a 261 EV6. Looking forward to getting it!

My 221 took a big drop of about 60km lately. Gone from 420kms to 360kms @100 % (70,000 km on the car)

Am thinking of getting an OBD dongle to see if there is anything up.

420km is low to start with as no real cold weather yet.. Do you do alot of motorway driving?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 449 ✭✭Dozz

@vinniem Nope. Did for a while during the summer (about 4 weeks). Naas to Kilkenny and back, twice a week. Put it down to that initially when it dropped to 400km.

    Dropped again 2 weeks ago to 269km @ 100%

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 449 ✭✭Dozz

    Sorry that should be 369km....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 504 ✭✭✭vinniem

Ah something wrong there, maybe a module in the battery gone. Would you bring it into Kia to look at?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 449 ✭✭Dozz

@vinniem its due a service before Christmas so will ask them to take a look then.

There should be one in there that shows all the cells from the battery individually. That might give more info.

4kwp South East facing PV System. 5.3kwh Weco battery. South Dublin City.
