    Y'know what annoys me? On RTE's new weather map (which I generally like), the most random of place-names pop up on the radar.

    Tonight I spotted Adrigole and Calverstown. A geography nerd like me never even heard of those places. Couple of weeks ago I noticed Monagear, which I know well but is spelled MonageEr locally. God dammit.

    The cloud cover depiction is very vague. It's a bit like manufacturers adding touch buttons to everything when simpler is better.

    I get what you're saying but I'm smirking a bit because I was in Adrigole a couple of months back and worked in Calverstown, although many many years ago, was more of a townsland then 😁

    looked at my TikTok inbox for the first time in months, the sheer volume of spam, scam, weirdness and just 😵👀.. there just doesn’t seem to be any effective moderation on that site….

    I must have deleted about 200 messages and blocked as many accounts. Not the most fun way to spend 25 minutes but needs must…

    I sometimes have the opposite problem. If I go to the shop with my brother, he likes to park in the furthest spot from the door.

    "Any chance you could park a little bit closer to the entrance? The carpark is empty and the rain is torrential.".

    I got up at half six (having gone to bed at 1am, awake again between 3:30 and 4:45am) to make myself and the place presentable because I was expecting someone that could call any time between 8am and 1:30pm. I'm struggling, struggling to stay awake and I'm freezing, too.

    I've just realised that today isn't Thursday, so I'll have to do it all over again tomorrow, when they're actually due. FFS...

    people who have money but reluctant to spend money.. As long as I’m alive I’ll never understand that. Person I know giving out for forever that their alarm clock radio is old and banjaxed, time ok but they can no longer hear the alarm when it goes off….

    Ok, look…Here is an idea….Walk into Harvey Norman / Power City or heck just go online, choose a NEW alarm clock radio, purchase it, plug it in, sorted….. I can imagine me in 2027 having the same conversation though. I had it in 2022 with them ffs. They are not a poor person so it ain’t money.

    That's like when myself and herself got all ready to go to a concert in the 3Arena, left work early, drove the whole way in, 50 mins. Parked 20 mins away for free parking, walked, walking across the bridge we noticed the place was all shut up and no one around.

    And realized the concert was on the next day.

    🙄

    Reversed all that, and did it all again the next day.

    Work related TA: having to sift through a pile of cut-off notices to deliver by Friday. Seemingly its the SIXTH time this year the electricity has been cut in this particular area. Between holiday homes with no-one currently residing in them, and the sheer amount of duplicates, its an unenviable task that can't be done in an easy way.
