Thought I heard a rumble or two to the north a while ago but wasn't sure with the hedge cutting going on outside. Just looking at the radar now and looks like there was a good few strikes just north of Athy.

Ah don't know about that 😀, get it wrong plenty of times too! Only got going during the day, little to none overnight and a few well off the coast this morning.

Big blustery showers here in Kerry today, some were quite torrential in nature with water flowing down the roads.

Tomorrow some possibility also for a few storms but isolated in nature and probably short lived at that, just about anywhere.

Class, well done. There's been little to no photos/videos so far in this years storm threads compared to last years. Nice to see some action shots.

Some very beefy showers now, in parts of the Midlands and East. Dublin city might be getting a good downpour soon.

Good hefty shower that for Dublin. Some extra wind gusts as the back end of it. Blew some windows shut.

That was a serious downpour, localised flooding in the Clontarf area.

Have Portarlington as my location in met.ie and it's currently showing potential for lightning tonight in the midlands? I take it though this could happen anywhere while the front moves over the country?

Very marginal would think, possibly wrong side, the heaviest rain will be there but from what I see parameters better along the S aided by topography and convergence especially around W Cork but every so slight chance and isolated at that.

Some models showing the occluded front moving down over parts towards the S with a bit of chance of a few sparks but parameters are really weak in general nothing stand out to give it too much energy.
