Went this road today for the first time in months. There appears to be very little progress apart from the addition of machinery. At this rate the Barn hill-Ongar road will be finished first.

They are in the process of digging up, lowering and repaving the road towards Clonee with the addition of putting in pavements.

In addition they are clearing out the treeline towards Clonee as it will all be removed for the road.

As for the roundabout, that is not progressing.

Why bother with temporary traffic lights if there is no work at the junction? This project was to be finished in 12 weeks (early December). At the current rate of progress it could be December this year. They either underestimated the works involved or failed to provide the required resources (or both). It shows how easy infrastructure projects overrun in both private and public sectors.

They've managed to construct a roundabout now. It's all bit of a mess as there's also works ongoing to build footpaths at the next intersection (R149/L2222).

Is that towards Ongar or Clonee?

I've just noticed on myplan.ie that the marker for the pedestrian works from The Gallops roundabout to Summerseat Estate has disappeared, and the contracting crowd have this "yep, that's us all done here" website update. Does that mean the path is now up to Meath CC to complete?

    Pretty despicable comment.

You put the smiley face in to suggest you are only joshing, but I don't believe you are.

Fair enough if it didn’t land well with you — but just to be clear, it was a lighthearted joke, nothing more. Bit of local banter that’s been going on between neighbouring areas for as long as I can remember. Definitely no malice behind it.

If it came across differently, that wasn’t the intent. Maybe just worth taking it in the spirit it was meant — a bit of tongue-in-cheek rivalry, not a personal dig. - I'll remove the PS
