Amazing how all the big American names wilted in the heat on the final day. Delighted for Tommy.

Great to see a guy keeping picking himself off the floor after coming up short and finally getting it done. He certainly had the golf skills to be a PGA winner and now he's got the monkey off his back. Would like to see him get a major now, he has the ability and now also the mentality to do so. Very happy for a guy who seems very genuine and likeable.

Great to see Tommy win but the old format was better.

It’s like any other event now bar more money and smaller field. It is not the same fedex cup as previous years no matter how they want to say it is

Luke list with a 12 most shots on fairway. I assume plenty of duffs or couldn’t up a hill and rolled back.

Another week without shot by shot

I see that there is 1 Irish player in David Carey at the 2nd stage of the Pga Tour Q School. He has spent his career on the minor tours and would be best known for shooting a 57 on the Alps tour a few years back.

Despite finishing with 2 bogeys, he is leading his section on -11 after 2 rounds. Earning a PGA Tour card would be a massive long shot but I believe that getting into the final stage would earn him a minimum of conditional status on the Korn Ferry Tour and full membership on PGA Tour Americas.

He virtually dead last at final stage.

Not sure that will get him status anywhere...maybe Americas. Id imagine playing that tour would be costly though.

Full PGA Americas status and he gets to play some events on the Korn Ferry. I think he gets the first six events and needs to do well in them to keep his card there.

Seems like Brooks is trying to get onto the PGA Tour anyway, interesting to see how it goes

Well I hope he's told no. If he's willing to donate all the sign-up money he got to charity then I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Let him apply, but leave it 1 year for consideration.

Brandel Chamblee (not everyone's cup of tea, admittedly) said "Forgiveness without cost is not reconciliation, it's erasure." I think he has a point.

Koepka is back on the PGA tour, confirmed on Sky

And they just announce a Returning Member Programme! Bit farcical

ELIGIBLE PLAYERS: Open to players who have participated in Unauthorized Tournaments, have not been a member for a minimum of two (2) years and have won THE PLAYERS, Masters, U.S. Open, PGA Championship and/or The Open Championship in the years 2022-2025.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,148 ✭✭✭paulos53

It will cost him a few quid to return. He must make a 5 million donation to charity, is ineligible for FedEx Cup bonus money this season and ineligible for the Player Equity Programme for the next 5 years. He also can't be given a sponsor invite to any of the signature events this season.

This way back is also available to anybody who won a major or a Players championship over the past 4 seasons. i.e. Rahm, Bryson and Cam Smith. They have a deadline of February 2nd if they want to return.

Lol his statement says he's looking forward to being able to spend more time with his family now that he's closer to them.

    Financial penalties apply though

thank feck the best players are returning to 1 league. If they all return, Sunday nights soon to be a lot better.

The charity donation probably tax deductible. It’s typically of most sports that will make things up to suit having a big face on their tv to generate revenue. That’s just the world we live in.

Brooks probably got sick of the you’ve to play here and there on these dates which is what Liv is. He’ll play on pga tour events he’ll want rather than told. Interesting to see how other players feel about it

Love the arbitrary selection of 2022 as the cutoff, mostly to screw over 2021 PGA champion Mickelson I assume 😁

If one more of the big names decides to take the option to return it will be a massive blow to LIV and their future

Was kinda linking the Majors with the deepest fields reserved just for those 4 events

Liking the majors, for the last year or so I feel they were elevated as the only events in the year with the truly deepest field

Obviously the Saudi deal is still in the works. I'm disgusted that he's been let back in.

It was hard enough for me to watch the majors with these MOD EDIT playing. I think my golf watching days are heading to an end.

Fairly sensitive to allow players who play in a Saudi backed league put you off golf. You must have skipped the Ryder Cup by that logic?

Same reasoning apply to football where teams owned by Saudi are competing in many of the competitions?

Let's avoid the LIV debate please which just ends up taking us way off topic

I haven't watched the Ryder Cup for a long time. It's not like it used to be when most of the Europeans were on the European and had a chip on theyr shoulder.

These guys are all pals now, for me it's a stupid tournament now.

We can't discuss the politics here. MOD EDIT

Crowd are a joke at the end of WM. Someone shouted as Matsuyama was about to putt for the win and then again as he was mid swing on his tee shot on the playoff. Just waiting for the USA chants now…
