Open to correction but I don't remember any fireworks on the Saturday night

Yeah! That firework ash seemed quite dangerous! Had sunglasses on, but it was landing all over me and in other people's eyes!

Great gig.. Really enjoyed it! Super day out

The only video. I took. My favourite song, Champagne Supernova, followed by the firework rain!

There was a huge crowd outside the stadium. Oasis shared a video on their FB. It was epic.

I didn't want that to end and I don't think anyone did. Nobody was moving as Champagne Supernova ended. Sensational. It was worth the 16 year wait since Slane. Feel very lucky to have seen them twice as Oasis. In a weird selfish way I don't want them to keep going because what they have done now is so incredible and special. They look and sound better than ever and that's the way to go out. Oasis has given me so many special memories over the years. Noel is absolutely flawless as always and Liam was loving every second with the crowd and sounds the best he has in a long long time.

Jesus that was epic, had a few beers before hand, found a space and just buzzed there.
Liam sounded great and they just bashed out hit after hit.

I was to the left facing the stage but at the back, seen a fair few lads being hauled out by security/.gardai.

But in general I though organization was ok.

No other band can do it quite like this, the hysteria, the songs, the attitude, the fans - from start to finish absolutely top class.

First saw them in 1995 in the Point Depot and last night felt like the perfect way to bookend it. While I would 100% go if they kept touring I would also be completely satisfied if they called it a day after this tour.

I only paid 6 Jason Donovan as Dr. Frank-n-Furters, but I'd probably pay as much as 12 Jason Donovans as Dr.Frank-N-Furter to do it all again..

Yeah, it looked like you would have 0 view of the band as the 2 sound tents are in the way of those areas on each side.

Absolutely amazing gig. Rarely ever cry but I cried when they first came out and for little by little. A night I’ll never forget.

Only thing is I found Liam very hard to hear / understand when he talked. Maybe it was the acoustics in the upper Cussack. Noel on the other hand for the brief bits he did speak was far more coherent.

Also did anyone see the strong laser been shone into the stands from behind hill 16.

Yeah same as regards Liams chats. Could not understand a word. But the sound in general was very good for Croker. Had no issues when he was singing. Also saw the laser coming from a building behind the hill.

Well that was suitably epic. No faffing about. Straight into banger after banger.

    OasisStart.jpg

Too right it wasn't (Excellent use of that scene from Close Encounters BTW)

Great t see then in the SUN-SHEE-IIIINE

    Oasis3.jpg

The stage screens were fantastic. Suitably huge and not all gimicky.

    OasisStage.jpg

The guys played a belter. Still have the voices (Many acts wouldn't). The energy was there. The sound was great (From the pit). The crowd were great

What's with people saying they were crying? I'm sure the gig was amazing, but crying?

Top class concert. Was brilliant to relive my youth again. They were amazing, sound and visuals were spot on. So glad to have seen them live again.

music means different things to different people.

Listened to the entire gig around Richmond St. The crowds were insane in terms of numbers, but it was good to get some of the buzz in. Sound was great too!

    Manifesting a Slane announcement soon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 970 ✭✭✭FazyLucker

Yes I'd predict Slane next year too and U2 in Croke Park.

They charge it because people will pay it. Thousands at the gig last night paid 500 quid for their ticket.

Don't be surprised if all those people above charge way more next time theyre on tour as a result. These big gigs really **** up the market.

    Indeed.

A year of excitement, anticipation, build up, and planning. Cheers to everyone who got involved here and helped each other out along the way 🫡

    Agreed.

And this is not a criticism or comment on society or anything - I didn't cry or anything at that but it was great. But I CAN understand people crying at concerts. Especially as it may be them remembering past times/different situations etc.

However I cannot understand people crying at football. Especially when you have a situation where a team needs a nil-all draw or something to get promoted. Folks crying as a bunch of lads slow down a game enough to sop the other guys scoring.

But I get that that's just me.

Well, I suppose they are no "The 1975" Oh wait, wrong guy.

Terrible band, extremely bland music, extremely boring.

Yeah, can't see these lads making it at all.

Some people were just born to be miserable.

    Very enjoyable day yesterday.

We were standing. Went in just after half 5 having heard the story of queues etc on Saturday. Got in relatively painless. Cast were good. Richard Ashcroft was amazing, really loved it. Saw him at Pearl Jam last year and think he was much more appreciated last night, different crowd and venue made a difference.

Oasis were brilliant. Hit after hit after hit. Noel seemed a bit out of it until his solo bits? The visuals were great. Sound was great.

Went to the toilet after RA, it was quite the trek!! Also bought a couple of extortionate half pints before Oasis, queued for a bit but all good. Once Oasis started, didn't need to move so was happy out. Crowd seemed decent, no aggro or pushing or anything that I saw, all just there for a good time.

Not that (m)any will care, but here are my thoughts.

I was extremely lucky and got the €170 standing tickets for both Wembley and Croke Park in the original sales, so have had tickets lined up since last August.

    1. The Wembley gig will be remembered by me as the greatest gig I have ever attended. There was no real difference in terms of performance between both gigs, but Wembley was my first, so will hold a more special place in my heart
    2. The setlist was almost perfect. I would be ok with dropping Bring It Down, Cast No Shadow, Talk Tonight and D'You Know What I Mean, but I'm also ok with them all being in the setlist. Would have swapped Wonderwall and Live Forever in order of play
    3. Pitch standing in Croke Park is a disgrace. I know the stadium was not designed with concerts in mind, but I missed all of Richard Ashcroft due to the queues. Did not expect that. Would not be in a rush to ever get pitch tickets again for Croke Park
    4. The crowds in both Wembley and Croke Park were fantastic. Everyone singing every single song. Experienced a lot more pints getting thrown in the air in Dublin. And the crowd in Dublin were a bit messier, but that might be down to the Wembley gig being on a Wednesday, as opposed to the Saturday gig I went to in Dublin
    5. Richard Ashcroft was a perfect support act
    6. Liam, when rambling between songs can be hard to understand.
    7. The stage was incredible
    8. Never once, at either gig did I check my watch.
    9. I'd pay €500 to see them again, but I hope for an updated setlist on the next tour. And I'd probably look to go outside of Ireland to see them again
    10. I didnt spot any open drug taking at either gig. Part of me expected it, and for a rowdy crowd. Great not to see it. Not saying it wasn't going on, but compared to other events I've been to, I wasn't aware of any
    11. How incredible has the last few months been with the build up, and excitement of these gigs. I haven't experienced anything like it before. Every gig across the four countries has been a huge event
    12. Might be age, but was delighted with Oasis starting at 8:15, and finishing at 10:15. Stage times were very regimented, and I for one appreciated it :D
    13. I didnt cry, but I was very close it during Dont Look Back In Anger. It was almost like an out of body moment. My hands were up, and I just soaked in everything. It was magical

While I didn't cry last night, cos I was too frigging happy, I have cried at concerts many, many times. Music is one of the most impotent important parts of my life. As for sport, well yes there have been times I cried. Again it plays a big roll in my life.

Now back to the concert. Oasis posted on FB a video of the people outside the stadium. That made me teary. The pit crowd were amazing. The utter excitement when they came on stage was out of this world. The energy for the entire show was great. Oasis songs are perfect for the live stage. Everyone knew the words. It was a sing song from start to finish.

Some of my phone pics. I need a lot more sleep to sort the camera ones.

Sick to the back teeth that I couldn't get a ticket, and so depressing siting here in work today reading about all of you very lucky people who were fortunate enough to get tickets. So yeah I am living in hope that they will come back next year, might not be as epic as the two gigs they have just done, but it's the only thing keeping me going today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,591 ✭✭✭waywill1966

Maybe they like the misery, like Mrs Doyle said! 😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 747 ✭✭✭CuriousCucumber

I'm sure they will come back, and tour again, but that's not what he said.

He dedicated Live Forever to people who have died between when Oasis split, and these concerts, and didnt get the chance to see them again

Yeah that video of the crowds outside Croker had me a bit teary watching it back this morning. It absolutely sucks for people that couldn't get tickets/got priced out of getting them so was lovely to see them getting a taste of the atmosphere and soaking it up.

Realized how lucky I was to have won my own tickets to last night, not everyone was as fortunate to even get one, or had to spend exorbitant sums to get there.

The mobile bars were expensive for a half pint but they were so convenient for not losing your spot in the crowd. We stopped drinking about 8pm anyways and just went daft for Oasis for the 2 hours or so. Worth it.
