I'd say censortec or smaxtec. More than likely the latter. I always liked the idea of the bolus. Nearly bought them a few times over the years.

Is this for sucklers or dairy. I have grant approved for heat detection aswell but not sure if i have the infrastructure for it to work properly I run a teaser bull for heat detection in suckler cows but would prefer not to

Dairy. Get onto a few salesmen and they won't be long telling you. The first thing they always say to me now is that it's a great year in farming.

how long does it normally take to get paid from when you submit everything for a grant. The status says on Agfood “Ready for LO checking” or something similar. I submitted everything in April, I’m waiting to get paid for a slatted shed and it can’t come quick enough.

Anyone know if Calf Creep Feeders (type used by suckler farmers) are covered under TAMS?

Submitted in May and LO checking was completed in a few days. Typically find 8 - 12 weeks. Would definatley start chasing your local office.

I just got approval for one item applied for (appendix A) ...I applied for 3 other items (scales, solar pump etc)none of the other bits were fixed ...is that standard? Should I be expecting a letter about the other bits at some stage or has a mistake been made...

Does approval for all issue together is what I'm asking?

oh right, it looks like I’m at the start of the process so instead of the end after almost 7 weeks, why am I not surprised

I wonder how far away am I from approval as I've put in for a Mower and rake but don't want to pull the trigger yet

I have one since start March....says LO query closed and no updates since June...it's taken about 8 updates to get to that stage of query closed. Rang them yesterday and they just read out what was on my screen...then said I just have to wait to which I said I am waiting 5 months already....and she said wait a bit longer 🙈

It's at "Ready for Pre Approval" whatever that means. But in all fairness I applied for a machinery grant so it should be a simple process of validating the application, then give the approval, upload receipt of purchase then issue the grant.

idk why it would take so long. Jezz if it was any other industry this type of slow process wouldn't be tolerated.

But think of all that fruitful admin work an application generates! Managers in the public sector and in large private companies need to increase paperwork per office in the same way farmers need to increase output per hectare.

I applied for mine the end of April, finally told on Friday that I’ll be paid in the coming weeks. In fairness to them when they looked at it they got back to me with some mistakes I made, mostly rubbish like wrong dates not matching dates on receipts, they were very helpful in getting it over the line.

I applied early june, got a letter a few weeks ago to be signed by a solicitor about the partnership within 10 days. I didn't get it done yet with all that's going on but my teagasc advisor let them know the situation

Anyone know if this sounds right

Lad at the Tullamore show told me you don't have to wait for approval letter to issue to buy the equipment in tams if its under the farm safety capital investment scheme….

I thought you had to wait to be sure of repayment, he said no, once its accepted online?

Its probably a weigh scales I'm interested in but I wouldn't be buying with just the application accepted online and without the approval letter in my hand…am I wrong?

He is correct but the risk is if for some reason you get rejected for the grant then it’s tough luck and you’re footing the full cost of the item yourself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,326 ✭✭✭amacca

So he's actually not correct then?....you have to wait for the approval letter as there is a risk the claim wouldn't be paid/grant paid if you buy beforehand..

Lad swore blind you'd definitely get the grant even if there was no approval letter as long as application went through on line for the farm safety one......some chancers out there....

Can you apply for a tedder under Tams.

What section is it under? I think I remember someone on here saying they were applying for one.
