What is tiresome is the posters who continue to deny what they are , when they are filling every thread they post on with either anti migrant schtick or complaints about other posters who disagree with that narrative , or mods who sanction abusive behavior on all sides instead of just sanction those they disagree with .

Contrary to what you may think, there's nothing wrong with having "right wing tendencies" - for a time FG had much the same tendencies.

There's a big difference between right wing/conservative and extremism/facism - something I think you may be ignoring.

As for the immigration issue, it's a masssive concern for many as reflected in polls, social media, and increasingly mainstream media commentary. No surprise then that it's going to be reflected in other forums here where there's an impact to people.

But if it makes you feel better GG - I believe that immigration should benefit the hosts, not just the new arrivals. I believe that anyone migrating to ANY country should respect the laws, cultural norms, and procedures of that country and apply/go there legally and honestly. I believe that ANY country has the right to decide the rules under which they accept migrants, what conditions are imposed, and how many they accept and that this may change depending on local economic/social factors.

I have no tolerance for anyone who arrives illegally or under false pretenses to take advantage of their hosts. I have no tolerance for anyone who commits crimes or causes significant issues for their hosts. I have no tolerance for those who only seek to take, and have nothing to offer in return, or who expect the host country and its people to accomodate their needs, cultural or religious norms over those of the natives.

Most importantly though - I have no tolerance and place no value on the opinions of anyone shouting "racist", "xenophobe", "far-right" or whatever other nonsense solely because they don't like these views and want them shut down/marginalised. Thankfully that nonsense has stopped working a while ago - mostly because the consequences can no longer be ignored.

BUT… its ironic that you complain about this spreading to other fora and threads when you post the above. But feel free to debate me on this in the Immigration thread if you wish because as you say, this isn't really the thread for it.

I stand to be corrected, but I believe the timeline coincides with the next renewal with Vanilla. I believe Odhran posted that this is coming up at the same time as the "deadline".

My feeling is that the initial 500 or so signed up reasonably quickly, and it has been a slow trickle since. That looks set to continue, particularly if no other actions are being taken to stimulate sign ups. I would think we would be doing well to get near 1k by the self imposed deadline

In short, It doesn't look good. But, we also don't really have a lot data relevant to the regular user base as far as I can tell/ recall. It would be interesting, for example, to know how many unique logins the site sees on a typical day.

How many users are active on a daily or even weekly basis? How many posts do they make?

Is there even 2000 users in that category? It does feel like the momentum has fallen off from the inital signups alright.
