Convincing win for Kilmallock over Patrickswell...much the better team overall. Patrickswell overly reliant on the obvious faces.

O Brien impossible to mark. Bit unlucky to be sent off.

Two yellows. First one for a melee where any of 15 players could have been booked but himself and byrnes were pulled out.

What was the full time score ?

Only see the half time posted

0-23 to 0-18. Kilmallock played last 20 mins with 14 but were always comfortable.

Great game between Mungret and Newcastle West. Didn’t look likely in the first half as Mungret went into a 1-8 to 0-1 lead. NCW steadied the ship before half time and tore into the second half, aided by some very wayward Mungret shooting against the breeze. Looked likely to win but Mungret got last couple of scores to get the draw.

Mark O Brien who was with the u20s this year looks a classy player for Mungret. O Halloran a nippy sharp forward but shooting went awry. Barry Duff very tidy performance in midfield.

Eoin Hurley with a great display in the 2nd half for NCW...1-4 from play, none of them easy.

Another draw for Mungret, pulled it out of the fire late on against Adare. Adare started much better, two midfielders Gleeson and O Mahony shot over a number of scores. Nicely worked goal from Duff got Mungret back in the game. Adare lost Willie Griffin and Niall Mcnamara to hamstrings.

Second half ebbed and flowed. Mark O Brien couple of flashes for Mungret, Mulcahy and Giltenane some good scores. Ronan Connolly pulled a lot of strings for Adare.

Late goal from Adare looked to have sealed it, but Fintan Fitzgerald bullet and a well worked point got the draw for Mungret. Fitzgerald only on as a sub due to injury.

Star of the show was Patrick Kearney Adare. Seems to only be 17. This lad looks a right prospect. Some absolutely beautiful scores taken.

Saw the 2nd half . Yes Kearney the main man plus John fitzgibbon made a big difference for adare as did fitzgerald for mungret when he came on. Don't know much about Kearney or fitzgerald but look decent

Kearney was minor last year, looks like a very tidy corner forward, if he puts on some size could become a fine player in a few years, Fitzgerald you would think will get a go with Limerick seniors before Christmas and early rounds of the league.

A hammering in the end for Doon over Patrickswell. Not completely dominant for the full match but still won by 18.

We saw from the intercounty season that form can change over a season but hard to see Patrickswell as contenders after that.

Doon strong all over the field...the two Thomas' got 1-9 from play between them, Kevin Maher and Pat Ryan caused serious trouble for the Patrickswell full back line, Richie English very good, and overall Doon very solid at the back.

They could be looking well beyond Limerick this year if they can keep the machine running throughout the Autumn.

Not sure what is going on with the streaming. I was able to watch last night and tonights matches without having to pay.

The Well must be a tough place to manage. You have loads of pressure on a few huge players to carry the club and then a load of pressure on the rest of a very average panel to not let the huge players down.

I know most clubs operate with a few county stars driving it on but The Well expect to be competitive every year.

Pat Ryan was discarded far too early. Don't think that's hindsight either

Even the players in a tier below the 3 stars have got decent underage intercounty experience and a few such as Carmody and O'Brien were with the limerick seniors, they look stale though and their underage is not producing enough to challenge the incumbents.

For the last ten years more or less it has been the big 4 in the semi final bar one year Ballybrown broke up the party , this looks like a year Ballybrown or Monaleen could make the last 4 . Lots of very interesting results in all the other grades as well , will know more looking at tables on Sunday night .

Liberties came out of 1B to beat The Well in a quarter final in 2022.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 762 ✭✭✭C4000

2017 to 2024 we've had the same four semi finalists every year, bar the one exception - South Liberties - as mentioned above.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,594 ✭✭✭Quitelife

South Liberties had an important win last night , hard win games in any of the grades , limerick club hurling is a lot stronger than it ever was . The academy has created good players for many clubs even if they never play senior for the county

According to the leader he watched the second half of the match standing on the sideline and ended up going to hospital afterwards.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,293 ✭✭✭Billy Ocean

It's hearsay but heard he should make a full recovery but if he was unlucky it could have been very serious.

The leader said Gillane has an arm in a sling too. Not sure what happened him.
