Guys I know I'm like a broken record but there is an unending free supply of crts in your local recycling centre.

You mentioned the Ballymount centre before. I've seen the cages in question where the CRTs get stored, do you just pull one out, pop it in your boot and head on your way?

I always ask one of the guys nearby and they always say yes.

Used to be the "small electrical" bin was there too and your could get old consoles. Now the small electricals are in a container over the barrier and everything gets smashed up when thrown in.

Bray recycling centre was always full of CRTs but they had them in a massive cage people just chucked them into..So it they were working before they went in they definitely weren't after they hit the cage.

I remember seeing some nice looking Sony pro monitors at the bottom of it before. :/

Spotted an exceedingly rare CRT in a property listing. It's only 3 mins from my house I'm tempted go over enquire.

I don't know if I have space but I might try find out. Was googling seems they only made 200 of these in the 70s and 200 in the 90's. Might save it from landfill. House is up for auction suggests maybe the owners not there anymore but who knows.

Didn't know they manufactured CRTs in Ireland.

Is it ok to ask for valuations?

Sony Triniton 14 inch KV-14LT with just over 20 hours on the tube.

I'm after a large PC crt monitor hence considering trading this.

    Edit: eBay is nuts https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/267482898673

Similarly, any thoughts on a PVM 14L2 at €400 that I'm considering? Obviously it's stupid money, but is it the right kind of stupid money?

Absolutely mental money. It's one of the cheaper units in the 'L' line. Not worth more than €200 euro IMO.

It's not very long ago that Dragonbox had 14 inch BVMs for €150 euro and I think a year before that I bought my 14L4 for €100 euro on donedeal. Prices have gone up but not by the amount to justify a €400 spend on an L2.

This is composite only but it's 17 inches and to be honest at half the price of the L2 you're looking at I'd rather get this:

Anyone out there with a 21 inch PC CRT monitor and interested in a trade for a new condition Sony Trinitron KV-14LT?

thanks man, needed a sanity check on it. Would also have a long drive to collect it to it would cost me a tank of petrol as well 😬
