What's the story with Babs wanting to be a Garda all of a sudden?

She was happy out being a traffic warden but then after an incident and her reacting to it. It was a terrible job and she didn't want the hassle of anymore.

Then she became a taxi driver.

Now, she wants to be a Garda. She's never shown any interest in it before and she came out with a line like this. " I want a job where people respect me." Wouldn't she have a lot more hassle than being a traffic warden. It's like it's some poor attempt to get more mature people to join the Gardai.

Is there something brewing between Babs and Gar? I mean Victor is being a prat and she seems to be all in to the fitness thing at the gym. Just wondering

2 career changes in a few months is daft. No doubt it’s to introduce a storyline; something with Garda Fidelma or that other young new Garda; all so rushed

I think it's just a storyline introduced for Babs to create friction with Victor. There will be very little mention of joining the guards from now on. Shes on a mission now to show Vic she's still got it!

I'm kind of done with Babs and Vic - I wish they were moved on. I don't think they have anything to offer anymore.

It's overkill , Ger and Sharon were in there twice yesterday.. before and after 'launch' all so Ger could offer Lorcan a job, sick of looking at the shop

Im sick of the product mentions aswell. Renee mentioned ordering more organic veg. Holly mentioned small pancakes last week etc. They seem to always have to mention what they came into buy or the products are seen in their hands. Its not subtle sponsorship at all. Its way too much. Its like Lidl are now writing the script!

I'm surprised he's even getting a storyline but based on the preview for the next episode it looks like he is. Immasculation via sperm donation is quite a novelty to be fair to the writers. I mean I'm not optimistic that the writers or actors will really capture any of the nuance of the emotions involved in that sort of thing but at least its something different 🤷‍♂️

I’d add childcare to that list. No childcare problems for Nono with two working parents; And Milo and Taylor have super nanny Ellie who is on her way to becoming a paediatrician minding them.

Sean is saving for early retirement apparently 🙄. The writers really have made him a laughing stock though. He's a single 30 year old man. Imagine him trying to pull on a night out after only taking a 3 minute shower with a splash of lemon juice on his bits 😬. Or going on a tinder date and telling her they have to go for the early bird menu and can't get a starter. Then he brings her back to his place where he lives with his grandad along with a lazy sponger and her two kids. What a catch.

Its funny to think that around 2007 or 2008 Sean, Mark and Doug used to be heavily featured and Sean and Mark were more so main characters at the time than Doug. I wouldnt have put money on Doug being the one to be the most relatively successful e.g. he's in a stable relationship about to be married, has kid and is in a qualified job and hasn't murdered any of his siblings or assaulted any of his in-laws. Mark is an absolute wreck of an individual and Sean's life is a bit of a shambles in a very different way but I suppose its reflective of the situation a lot of young people have found themselves in where they didnt go to college or get any formal qualifications.

I hope I'm wrong but I see a sexual assault on Sash by Ian, proving his masculinity by 'turning' her.
