Really? I booked half an hour ago. In Naas waiting for it now.

Far As I know, they only take prebookiings.

Edit: sorry, you're looking for later one, just spotted that.

Yea the bus route from Dublin etc you need to pre book but the shuttle to portlaoise it says no need to.

8 euro each way on bus and they take cash or card and you pay when you get to Emo.

Taxi is 20 if sharing is an option. Drop off is the pub in the village

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 16,145 Mod ✭✭✭✭Furious-Red

Thanks for that,I'll be on my own so no sharing taxi.

Have I got the right Robrrt Finley? Ancient soul guy? He sounds class!l

My new number one priority for the day.

A bit of Velvet Underground, maybe De Dannan, Robert, Pogueology, Sack, Billy Bragg, Magic Numbers....that looks pretty lovely now.

Does the bus pick up in the car park or outside the main entrance where you walk up the steps/closer to the town?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,485 ✭✭✭✭rossie1977

In Eno the bus pick up is to right of the main entrance just in front of the school building. You will see signs for "shuttles" just as you leave past where they do bag check entering venue

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 16,145 Mod ✭✭✭✭Furious-Red

Oh sorry I meant at portlaoise train station, I know when I got the shuttle to EP a few times it went from the main entrance to the station.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,485 ✭✭✭✭rossie1977

Yes it's same pick up as EP in front of train station

Stewards at main arena entrance now telling folks with chairs to stay back. It’s being ignored of course cos entitled Irish people of a certain age.

Anyone catch Thanks Mom? Brilliant stuff, 3 12 year old Kildare girls and a young lad on drums. Awesome punk pop. Loved it. Lead singer has serious potential. May possibly be older than 12.

Only caught a few tunes from him but enjoyed it before moving to Tony Hadley who surprised me how good he was even though only knew 2-3 tunes.

Agreed on the chairs tho, although most after the FOH area is mostly chair free.

Also kudos for them playing Bob Vylan while we wait for Travis

not sure what you’d expect from Billy and everything is political.

    **** loved Billy

Billy Bragg is political, always. That's why people like him.

Woov app being dragged to uninstall, maybe next year again!

Chats on the app got ruined by (probably?) scam drug dealer bots too, definitely nobody from the festival paying any attention.

Well. Deadly weekend. Today, bit of Eva Coyle, bit of Nick Lowe before Thanks Mom, 3 girls and a young lad, extremely young but great set of original punk pop, fantastic stuff. Bad Manners perfect Main Stage Sunday afternoon act, great brass, whole arena dancing. Then De Dannan and Frankie Gavin, deadly set. Few minutes of Andrew Strong, great voice still into Glasshouse doing Velvet Underground, excellent.

Robert Finley on the Village stage next. Maybe tge set of the weekend. Amazing voice, loved it. A bit of Freddie White, then Pogueology, fantastic. Billy did Billy, cool and inspiring and funny, no Walk away Renee(!), Sack brilliant, Magic Numbers went all Crazy Horse, 15 minute noodle so I hit the road.

I had a genuinely brilliant weekend compact site, great food options, great beer options, big variety in music, toilets good, buses fantastic. Anyone older looking for an Irish option for EP, defo worth a look.

Cherry on the cake meeting @scruff monkey and @bodhrandude .

Is there some incredible boom in popularity of cover bands recently that I missed? Every cover band tent was absolutely packed to bursting point all weekend and Qween had 10k for final set on main stage tonight, insane sized crowd.

Philip Meagher is going to have to go some way to better what he put on this year I think.

Highlights for me Franz, Farm, Therapy, Stocktons Wing (again), Travis and Qween.

Did the Saturday in a campervan, 2nd time down there. One of the best run festivals I’ve attended in this country, festival goers/stewards super sound. Really can’t fault it, weather was perfect.

These Charming Men are a class act. Different drummer from last year. Therapy? no Opal Mantra yet again. Small gripe. Didn’t think much of Peter Hook and the light, musically fine, guitarist doing Sumners parts na’h.

Cut it short for The Stranglers and bailed back to the campervan. Finished with Kerbdog and Reef, both on great form.

Home before noon on Sunday. Bring on next year.

Bag check was very easy going, I actually don't think they minded you brining in a couple of cans as long as is wasn't a slab! Camping chairs painful, especially when you're main stage side of the sound desk. What T F do people be thinking?

Numbers up this year on last or maybe the amount of camping chairs has made is seem busier?

Diageo products swapped for Heino, but needless complication for returning deposit glasses, ie it had to be from the bar you originally bought it from. Simple it would seem but not when your reasoning is low late at night!

TCM, Half of Therapy due to the poorly advertised time schedule change, Stranglers, Kula Shaker (looked like he got stuck into some smelling salts just before he kicked off! Anyway - meh) Kerbdog (Immense!) Manics (decent but crowd in the pit only knew the bigger ones - poor sound and poor atmos)

Biggest gripe was the toilets being so far away from everytime i needed a p*ss and always a slowdown at the main arena entrance area (until I realised the VIP area wasn't checking bands) Great day out all round however.

Coverband festivals are huge in UK at moment. https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2025/jun/07/want-to-see-oasish-play-glastonbarry-well-you-can-how-tribute-festivals-grew-into-a-monster

I got the impression that a lot of the crowd this weekend came from Forever Young. Definitely a market for it. Not my cup of tea normally but the odd decent one like TCM is a great way to start the day.

Tribfest in Kildare is next weekend and going strong the last few years. No sign of TCM at it yet but Qween have been there last couple of years, Oasis for the year that's in it of course. Friday night with Metallica, ACDC, GNR Lizzy and Quo should be a cracker
