Would love to nip down for the day. Anyone take a bus from Naas direction last year? How did that work? I know they were advertised, can't remember times or regularity, how late they went back, where you got them from in Emo. Any ideas?

Who let Hermitage Green onto the bill? Decent line-up all the same.

I suppose Frank Carter and the Sex Pistols getting on this bill is unlikely?

FF making an announcement of 4 acts apparently next Monday at 7 AM.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Would be tempted with The Selecter as #1

    #2 is Magic Numbers

    #11 jack lukeman

Lukeman has been on FF Spotify playlist a while now

Mr. C on his Instagram confirmed he would be back for another DJ set

Magic Numbers, Alabama 3 and Thumper are great additions for me. Unreal line up.

Really very strong this year alright.

Gets better each year fair play to those organising it.

A bit sad to see the Pillow Queens so far down the bill, Andrew Strong levels. Their star really seems to have fallen of late.

in fairness, given forest fest audience it’s apt.

A pity, they were fantastic at it two years ago and were on quite late in the evening.

I've been the last few years and it really is a great weekend, especially if the weather is kind..

It's a bit like a forever young / rewind festival, but for decent music. If you haven't been, i'd definitely recommend it.

The only small gripe for me is that maybe 60% of those listed have played FF over the last few years.

The smaller acts yet tba will have a returning figure of over 80%

The Saturday looks strong though, so it looks like just a Sat day ticket for me this year.

That's a pretty standard feature of Irish fests though isin it? A small enough local pool to pull from and only so much budget for "foreign bands".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,489 ✭✭✭Fanirish

Yeah and especially a festival catering to/aiming for a particular era of music. Only so many 90’s/early 2000’s uk and Irish bands about that can draw a crowd

Posters don't really tell you where an act will feature. Last year Jenny Greene was in same place and she was last act on main-stage Saturday night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,306 ✭✭✭Stillill42

Yeah, Jenny's probably a bit different, the act that's in it. But fair enough, maybe I'm reading too much in to it.

I'm guessing you've not been but there were 3 tents two years ago, decent sized (for the festival) Fleadh tent, then large (again for the festival) tent (had Hooky, Pillow Queens etc.. in) and then a smaller tent which had Lukeman and choirs and some other acts in. They might be lower on the "poster" but a good evening slot in one of the tents.

Hadn't really listened to them before then, would very much go see again if they were handy.

    Google is your friend

    1. Official site : https://forestfest.ie/info/#Getting_to_from_Forest_Fest
    2. There was a shuttle bus service last year from the looks of it, I'm assuming it was announced much closer to the event. : https://forestfest.ie/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Shuttle-Bus-Times-2024-V2.pdf
