I'm liking the Mexico city race. Like a road course, and a bit fun after a caution. Currently watching the Xfinity race.

watched it on viasat links . was a decent race - Gibbs frustration is ruining races for him . bit more passing would help

It was great to see Suarez win it for all his fans. Zilisch is a fantastic driver, he made a mistake and paid dearly for it.

Svg finally gets a win . good track . pity you cant pass without some contact . Hamlin happy he stayed at home

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,002 ✭✭✭Infoanon

Important win for SVG , absolute domination , he could have passed Gibbs at any point and led circa 90% of the race.

SVG now in the playoffs so Trackhouses gamble has paid off already , I would not be surprised if SVG won at least another road course and his oval racing has been improving over the last few races , averaging around 15th spot during an oval race is good for a rookie.

There was plenty of passing with no contact, Hocevar and Stenhouse at it again , Hocevar going to be wrecked by the #47 at Pocono imho !

Pocono on tonight - race start delayed due to rain

V Sport 3 HD norway is very good for nascar if you can get it

I was delighted for Briscoe last night. It was a brilliant drive knowing when to save fuel and when to keep going. Hamlin got close a couple of times but couldn't get to him.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 6,187 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

theres a lot of races coming down to fuel , last year it was 11 and 19 in these races - same again now

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 6,187 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

    this place is carnage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,002 ✭✭✭Infoanon

Good racing , if that was because of the 'big one' occurring so early and taking out so many contenders ?, at one stage there was only one winner in the top 22 ! ,SVG , who had a solid rub until Gibbs hit him ,

Close finish as well ! Hometown hero too boot.

The in season mini championship with a $1m prize for driver and a fan got turned upside down !

Damn it, I thought the race was tonight. I watched the truck race and there wasn't a mention of the cup series.

Another master class from SVG, and only the second driver to do the double - pole and win on the same weekend in the xfinity and cup race, the other driver being Kyle Busch.

SVG is now solidly locked in to the playoffs with two wins, and with the two wins is currently 4th in the playoffs seedings.

And while many will point to his road course advantage from his supercar days, it's overlooked that the steering wheel etc are on the other side of the car!, if he masters ovals there could be interesting times ahead.

The in season championship, despite TNTs hyping of it , has not really caught the imagine, Ty Dillon could be the winner following the latest round with so many of the favourites already out.

Sonoma this weekend , SVG starts favourite but Busch, Beuscher, Gibbs, Reddick and Elliot will be in the mix.

enjoyed the xfinity - Connor Zilisch was very impressive .

was out sunday night but backed Allmendinger to win his group n he did .

Zilisch is young and will soon be the best Road course driver

He's just a cracking driver, I've no doubt he'll get really good on the ovals. Himself and McLaughlin are both very special. I was very surprised when McLaughlin went to Indycar.

Zilisch is already a phenomenal road course racer and he's improved massively on ovals over the last few months.

I see him as a future Cup series champion.

very good xfinity race , a battle svg and Zilisch

and Zilisch gets a well deserved win

Yeah there is nothing between them. The two best road course racers in NASCAR, all divisions. Would live to see Zilisch get a decent car for one of them in the Cup series.

It won't be long before he has one full time.

Brilliant battle between SVG and Zilisch,

All but confirmed that Zilisch will be in the #99 Trackhouse cup car next season

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,728 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

Amazing watching them racing last night. SVG made sure he would punish any mistake but Zilisch drive flawlessly.

In the xfinity post race interviews SVG said he could have 'moved ' Conor but he didn't want to race that way.

SVG goes on to win the Cup race , acknowledging the respect Chase Briscoe had shown him at the restarts (when others would have moved him out of the way ), Briscoes first top 5 in a road race btw.

3 wins from the last 5 races albeit all road courses ,there will be some who will still complain about SVG being in the playoffs instead of recognising brilliance.

Back to the ovals next weekend, and Ty Dillon has survived another week of the in season tournament, with a little bit of moving Bowman out of the way.....

We need Zilisch in the Cup series as soon as possible. I think he'll win Xfinity this year and hopefully move on up straight away.

SVG saying he could have moved Connor seems like BS to me. He rarely got close enough to do it.

And even if he did it Zilisch would most likely have come straight back at him and do exactly what was done to him.

I've been an SVG fan since his Supercar days but I think Zilisch is as good as and maybe a better road course racer.

The two of them are on a much higher level than anybody else.

Keeping an eye on the courts ,23XI and Front Row Motorsport will lose their charter status on Wednesday but, instead of mediating as suggested by the judge heading up the anti trust case ,Nascar have decided to 'go nuclear ' , informing the teams that they intend on selling their (23XI and Forward Racing) charters (6 of them) .

23XI and Forward Racing are currently in court stating that this action by Nascar will put them out of business.

Not to mention that 6 charters suddenly being on sale will decimate the market value of charters held by the other 30 teams.

RFK and Legacy are in the market for charters ,JR motorsport maybe , but the notion that outsiders are queuing up to buy charters while the anti trust case continues seems fanciful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 41,453 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

There's a lot of interest from wealthy celebs in getting involved in NASCAR.

If Nascar didn't try and mediate they will get hammered in court.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,002 ✭✭✭Infoanon

Initial court ruling on the interim injunction is in 23XI and Front Row have lost their charters and will race as open teams at Dover and Indy.

However, a further review is to take place ,Nascar cannot sell the charters AND if any event attracts >40 entries then the judge has indicated he will change his ruling.

Mixed news for all involved and exper a lot of spinning.

The notion that there are 'wealthy celebs ' wanting to buy these charters is fanciful , no one ;OEM / Wealthy investor will go near these disputed charters until the anti trust case is resolved.

The other charter dispute between Legacy and Rick Ware racing continues, that the man who brokered the deal has now bought Rick Ware Racing has spiced things up

I never said anyone would go after disputed. I did say that celebs are looking to get involved.

Michael Jordan, Pitbull, Brad Daugherty and LeBron James are all involved.
