Oh hey! I've seen this one! This is the one where you can't say anything unless you explicitly condemn Hamas every single time.

Seems some Israelis are objecting to the construction of the Rafah Concentration Camp:

The plans presented by Israel's defense establishment to concentrate the population of Gaza in a "humanitarian city" constitute a manifestly illegal order, 16 Israeli experts in international law and the laws of war said in a public letter, warning that implementing the plan would be a war crime and a crime against humanity.

There have been a lot of posts recently as to why Hamas simply do not release the hostages. Here is the definitive answer from alleged War Criminal #1 (at large):

The New York Times reported that around mid-2024, in an attempt to convince Netanyahu to reach a truce with Hamas, White House officials cited polls showing that over 50 percent of Israelis supported a hostage deal over continuing the war in Gaza.

According to the report, Netanyahu replied:"Not 50 percent of my voters."

The ICJ will undoubtedly rule that Israel has committed Genocide - but that will be a way off.

Netanyahu will either be languishing in an Israeli jail for corruption or will be hauled over to The Hague to cost up with Duterte. Again, it could be a way off.

An alternative possibility is the current Israeli govt. collapses, they are booted out and a more moderate govt. put in place that will cease all warmongering by Israel in the region.

Another alternative is the Israeli economy, already in trouble, will collapse - no money for warmongering.

Other than the above, there still seems to be no international appetite to force Israel to stop its Genocide. An utter stain on humanity even after events of 80 years ago.

"An alleged war criminal wanted by the international justice proposes for the Nobel Peace Prize his largest supplier of weapons, and with which he is causing the greatest ethnic cleansing in the region since the end of World War II," Josep Borrell, former EU foreign policy chief.

I am pretty sure Blanch is male. In any event I will respond to his posts if I feel like it. I believe in free speech and challenging any nonsense I see. It's an anonymous forum afterall. You can ignore him if you want, that's your prerogative.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,416 ✭✭✭✭My name is URL

Please, can everyone stop attacking Blanch? All they have done is defend the systemic killing of children.

What a wanker he is, even using that word to describe the harsh words he's receiving

Slander is a misuse of free speech. But it is your right to respond to whom you choose. My request was just that not a dictat.

"In April 2024, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly shelved a Gaza truce deal that would have secured the release of at least 30 hostages due to a threat by far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to bring down the government.

The revelation is one of many contained in a lengthy New York Times report Friday that accused him of deliberately extending the Gaza war to serve his own political goals of rehabilitating his domestic image and staying in power.

The extensive look into Netanyahu’s conduct also revealed that three months later, following the objection of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, Netanyahu derailed a White House effort to secure Israeli-Saudi normalization conditional on ending the Gaza war."

There we have it - the 'war' should have ended 15 months ago but Netanyahu and his cabinet decided to prolong it and to block the release of hostages (and to think that we have to listen to assorted western Zionist scumbags and racists on social media claim that the reason the war has gone on for two years is 'because of Hamas').

They are Palestinian authority areas or under special oversight, the palestinians don't allow elections, no more than they allow peace.

    Where to start...

    1. Of course I do. What in any of my posts would make you think any different? And no, fervently disagreeing with the dehumanization in your posts doesn't mean some body supports terrorism and it's quite pathetic to insinuate that it does.
    2. I didn't answer your question because you didn't ask me. You asked a different poster, albeit one you had similarly manufactured support for a terrorist group on after they quite legitimately called out your posts. I guess it's hard to keep track of all the posters you are baselessly slandering.
    3. Im not attacking you, I'm calling out your cynical and ridiculous line of postings for what they are - one massive dodge.

Well now that I've played your little game, you may answer me a long held question that I put to you umpteen times.

Months ago, you said (despite months of showing support Israel's / IDFs brutal behaviour in this conflict), that you didn't support everything the IDF has done in this war.

I asked you to specify, and you could not. I would say you were asked 20 times, and again dodged and went down the similar pathetic route of "but but do you condemn Hamas".

Maybe now you could answer? It's very simple and should clarify some of your thoughts on this conflict.

what specific actions that Israel have carried out do you condemn, with regard to their treatment of Palestinian civilians during this war?

This conflict has been going on 1400 years and Jews in that region have been in conflict for at least another thousand years before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,851 ✭✭✭RoyalCelt

HAMAS wear civilian clothing they were never going to be able to just target them. Btw I don't know what Israel's response should have been but I wouldn't have said the current situation that's for sure.

The Bible supports a lot of hate speech too btw. Likewise the Jewish texts. The Quran is basically the Bible rebranded but to suit a world of men more.

Israel was stalling for time all along.

They don't want a ceasefire and couldn't care less about the hostages.

"One senior official told the BBC that Israel had "bought time" during Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Washington this week and deliberately stalled the process by sending a delegation to Doha with no real authority to make decisions on key points of contention."

There's no point looking to israel to stop the genocide.

    https://www.genocidewatch.com/single-post/poll-show-most-jewish-israelis-support-expelling-gazans

82% of israeli Jews support the ethnic cleansing of Gaza.

israel should be blockaded, economic sanctions should be imposed on them, it should become an international pariah.

Taybeh, the site of a much valued 5th century Byzantine church is the latest place currently under attack by settlers. Taybeh is a long standing Christian community …

what will the MAGA christians think of that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,901 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

Of course there had to be a military response to a militant / terrorist group attacking them in such a public and outrageous fashion, that was fine - but after a couple of weeks bombing of Gaza and several thousand deaths, Israel should have wound down the bombing (look at how quickly the Israel-Iran war played out for example). Israel might have had a lot of credit in the international community at this point and been able to portray itself as the 'good guy' in a battle against evil terrorists.

But instead, they just kept on bombing and bombing and massacring Gazan civilians and blowing up hospitals etc. By November 2023, many observers were warning this was already heading into very serious war crimes and a possible planned genocide territory.

Yes, my first use of the word genocide was November 2023. It was obvious from very early on.

Hamas is hardly ever mentioned by Irish politicians. Most of the time they are blaming Israel. We are not clear eyed at all. We have fallen for the genocide lie hook line and sinker. Most european countreies understand Israel is in a war fort survival and in wars, unfortunately, civilians die.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,600 ✭✭✭Frank Grimes

The 'nuclear armed state is at war for its survival' line is a poor justification for what is actual ethnic cleansing and possibly genocide given the context. Civilians tend to die when they are being deliberately targeted too.

It doesn't need an explanation how the Quran values women compared to men and how it values Gay people. Not to mention atheists and people of other religions. Are you a Muslim yourself?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,851 ✭✭✭RoyalCelt

So you agree with a couple of weeks of bombing Gaza? That lead to a lot of civilian deaths. I personally don't agree with that but each to their own.

The reality is though the Iranian backed HAMAS put Israel in a very sticky situation. At this point I think Israel will annex a large chunk of Gaza. That outcome will be a loss to the Gazans and the Iranian regime who's plans have backfired everywhere except Yemen at this point.

I understand why Israel did it btw so I'm not saying that I just don't agree.

Israel already have huge influence and control over Western media. They make themselves look like the good guys regardless.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,901 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

But Hamas are barely even active at any level at the moment. They have managed to kill a few IDF soldiers this year and still hold the hostages, but that's about it ; 99%+ of the bombings and killings in Gaza this year have been carried out by Israel. Hamas are hardly even a factor in any of it, there's little to discuss.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,672 ✭✭✭circadian

No, I'm an atheist but to arrive at this point I explored many religions.

There is nothing in the Quran that definitively "values women compared to men and how it values gay people." as you would see it. The only thing I can think of directly specified is women receive half of inheritance than men.

Like other major religions, as a religious text it is used for the gains of some, where they make dubious interpretations to either suit their needs or to maintain local cultural norms, the same can happen regarding inheritance amounts.

There is very little regarding homosexuality, and what little there is there's nothing concrete to say it's forbidden, much like other religious texts.

How much have you studied? I'm assuming not much at all considering you're just passing ignorant statements without backing them up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,116 ✭✭✭✭Danzy

It's been the same thing on repeat for 2 years and often about things that never happened.

Yes "the same thing on repeat" is because Israel has been murdering Palestinians in Gaza for that length of time, in this round of killing. Just because you probably agree with it doesn't justify posting crap a "Proud Zionist" has tweeted, presumably to trivialise the situation. Just like you are doing.
