    Yes. Or Elon.

The only people he hasn't claimed to be able to deport (yet) are US citizens whose claim to citizenship is based on the fact that their parents were US citizens.

Hmmm, and when Barron was born, Melania was not a citizen!

Thats the plan the cuts to medicare medicare don't come into force until after midterm elections. Maybe most trump voters don't read newspapers the average voter might not want to know the details of the bill that's already passed or they think i.m working there's no way I can lose my health insurance

1000s of new ice agents will be recruited they need constant arrests to justify thier jobs

This amounts to approx 300 billion dollars cuts to medicare medicaid general health care school lunches for low income familys

Theres been articles the last month in most papers about all the bad things in this bill 4 trillion dollars in extra debt

100s of hospitals are at risk of closure as most of their patients are on Medicaid older people with medical problems

Democracy is at risk free speech the right protest is being erased in the guise of fighting antisemitic acts

This is an old tactic dictators use protecting religion as an excuse to ban all public protest or trample the rights of minoritys

Quiet contemplation of the world going to hell, one papercut at a time, soundtracked by an atmospheric Aphex twin tune.

The world is not going to hell, it has been worse and recovered. The US is doing a pretty good job of destroying itself, but it is not the whole world. We were well overdue for a shake-up and while there are some very bad places to be in in some parts of the world at the moment, it is far from going to hell.

Not sure we are debating the finer points of what type of person Trump is allowed deport.

Anyone care to show me the last time he gave two f***s about what was legal and not?

Almost unlimited resources granted to ICE thanks to the bill that passed, his own little private army who walk around without masks disappearing people.

America is sleepwalking into total fascism.

Couple of months ago I'd have agreed 100% with you on this. Now, no, there's no excuse. it's been obvious and the Orange Buffoon and his sh1tshow sideshow have been very very clear on where they are heading

Another reason not to visit the U.S… Donald Trump signed an executive order to keep with his 'America First' agenda increasing entry fees with a tax on Foreign Nationals at U.S. national parks, while making it less expensive for citizens. The additional revenue generated by higher fees from foreign tourists will raise hundreds of millions of dollars for conservation and deferred maintenance projects to improve national parks, the White House said in a statement.

To be fair to him, putting an extra tax on foreign nationals at U.S. national parks is automatically making it less expensive for citizens, given the Foreign National tax being a differential.

Is it though, when the media are reporting as per my post above?

That would give any child presently being deported with an alien or de-naturalized citizen parent a legal way to avoid being deported.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

It’s less stable than it was- it was always in a state of flux- and it still is- but with America backing away from supporting Europe militarily and taking on the world economically , it’s certainly less safe currently for Europeans at least - economically it’s also less stable at least for the forceable future

And yet we, 5000km away on a little island can see what's happening?

I agree with your sentiments, I guess I just feel the term 'sleepwalking' is almost like giving them an 'out' or an 'excuse'

In fairness thought, those reports are on Trump getting his bill through. There's no shortage of news on what many say the effects are going to be. Even on that Sky News one it mentions

The bill delivers tax breaks Mr Trump promised in his 2024 election campaign, cuts health and food safety programmes, and zeroes out dozens of green energy incentives.

According to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO), it will lower tax revenues by $4.5trn over 10 years and add $3.4trn to the US's $36.2trn debt.

Every Democrat in Congress voted against the bill, blasting it as a giveaway to the wealthy that will leave millions of Americans uninsured.

"The focus of this bill, the justification for all of the cuts that will hurt everyday Americans, is to provide massive tax breaks for billionaires," he said.

The bill's spending cuts largely target Medicaid, the health programme that covers 71 million Americans on low incomes.

It will tighten enrolment standards, institute a work requirement and clamp down on a funding mechanism used by states to boost federal payments.

The changes could leave nearly 12 million people without health insurance, according to the CBO.

Eye balling it, roughly half the article.

But at the same time you're right. Imagine if it was Biden or Obama doing all this. The republicans would be everywhere shouting and screaming, yet the Dems are hardly to be seen (so no news to report). Maybe they're afraid of the 'fake news' retort that will come and which will only embolden the maga crowd. are they just waiting till it all blows up? No idea, but its a dangerous approach. Their lack of leadership is very telling at the moment.

Nobody other than the U.S. consumer is going to be paying whatever that tariff may be. The only way they would not be is if those companies producing those goods moved from Europe to the U.S. to produce them.

Those companies set up their production in the E.U. for various reasons. In our case because it was cheaper to do so here than in the U.S. and because we had a well educated workforce capable of doing the job. Would those companies move back to the U.S. where none of that has changed, especially where the present morons in charge are intent on destroying what is left of their education system and up sticks and say goodbye to all their investment in the E.U. because of a 10% increase in the cost of their products to just the U.S.while leaving themselves at the mercy of a gang of grifters that have now increased their national debt to unsustainable levels who in all likliehood would soon start leaning on them mafiosa style ? I very much doubt it.

Trump can dress it up as a win for U.S. beef, pork, chicken and any other agricultural product he likes. It would play well to his MAGA states, but it would not gain them a red cent as due to the E.U. health and standards the E.U. will not be buying any of it. He can do the same for LNG, but again it would be meaingless. With Russian gas gone the E.U. needs LNG and the worry since the invasion of Ukraine has been where to get enough of it do cover for the loss of Putin`s gas.

Who's going to want to visit national parks that are being drilled and fracked, while also full of organised hunting activity (gunz) and other components of the new 'recreational economy' proposed for former wilderness areas.

It was. Same both sides trope always gets trotted out.

That is an odd way to look at it. Trump set out to have zero tariffs, but to use the threat of them to get concessions from other countries and, as per his speech, to get rid of the negative balance of trade.

By 'accepting' 10% tariffs, the US are clearly failing to get what they want from the EU. This is going to lead to higher prices for the same goods. Trump promised to bring prices down and throughout this the claim was that deals would be done to avoid tariffs as the other countries had no other options.

I see this is a massive failure for Trump and the US. The EU are unwilling to give in and would accept 10% tariffs, which is a tax on the US consumer, rather than give up things like GMO standards etc,

And to get to that position, Trump threw away years of goodwill and trust.

Maybe those people who will be attending the events in the National Parks, battlefields and historic sites that Trump is promising, just like those heading to the MMA fights in the White House grounds

The US doesn't need years of goodwill and trust. If it was a smaller country trying to deals with a bigger market, it might rely on trust and goodwill.

However, like it or not, US is the big dog, and the other dogs aren't going to throw a strop and say "no, you were mean the last time, we won't deal with you anymore".

I was have a search for a new android phone on the GSMArena website which shows a price for different zones, for the EU it's usually the amazon.de site but the new tariffs reality hit home when I saw the US price being double the EU.

I'm not sure if genius, or better off… 🤔

LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. - An Iranian woman who has expressed support for President Donald Trump was detained by federal agents outside her home in Diamond Bar, California.

"Trump is not trying to do anything bad," said Arthu Sahakyan. "We understand what he's doing. He wants the best for the country. I'm just trying to make the best of it. I don't want any families to go through this. If they are, I apologize for what they're going through because it's hard."

Home surveillance video shows federal agents outside Sahakyan's home Monday. His wife, Arpineh Masihi, can be seen going inside their house to say bye to their four children.

"She came and kissed the kids and that was it," said Sahakyan. "That was the last time we saw her."

Federal sources tell Fox News that more than 130 Iranian nationals were detained in the United States last week.

"I'm very for [the United States vetting] Iranian nationals because of the sleeper cells," said Sahakyan. "I think it will resolve a lot of issues because we'll know exactly who's in here for what reasons, even though I miss [my wife] dearly. I think we could have a faster process [where they determine] she's not a radical, or tied to the crazies, let her out."

I've no doubt the irony sailed right over his head 😒

"The leopards aren't biting my wife's face off, they're just nibbling on it for a while, and we're very hopeful she'll still be recognisable at the end of it."

Yes, it does. How do you think it became a "big dog?"
