Doesnt really matter - plenty on Amazon to choose from. Like my phone screen protectors, I generally get a 2 or 3 pack, so as soon as it gets damaged, I can replace it.

I picked up this one as it has a guiding frame for easy install.

Thanks, my Switch will never leave the dock but just incase as it seems it can scratch so easy.

    Cheap insurance for a tenner.

Anyone hazard a guess as to when different coloured Joycons may be released?

I did see reports before the switch 2 launch that the joycons may be able to be customised, but nothing since.

Here are the kits being sold on Aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008794449876.html

But they are only the sides.

I'd say in about 3-4 weeks, the same time it takes for aliexpress to ship the goods

I think they are asking about official Nintendo joycons not just replacement shells.

It is hard to tell, the Switch launched with two colours (obviously) but I think the first standalone ones were the Arms and Splatoon variants, which were only a few months after launch.

I think we might see some released before Xmas? I am surprised there is not a Donkey Kong coloured set, maybe MP4 with the accent colours of Samus' suit?

I assume Hori have a split pad nearly ready for production also

Yep. Interested in genuine Nintendo joycons. The shell replacements would still mean the colour under the thumbsticks would be different which would be odd looking.

Can you connect two controllers at the same time or just a single?

    Edit: Answered my own question:

    https://support.8bitdo.com/faq/wireless-usb-adapter-2.html

How many controllers can this USB adapter connect to at a time?

One controller at a time. If you wish to use multiple controllers at a time, you would need to use multiple adapters.

Can I use more than one adapter on the same device at a time?

Yes, you can. If your device does not have enough USB ports, you can use a USB hub to connect multiple adapters.

That's the job. Then when you have pro controller you can always connect an extra controller if needed. Specs say it supports Switch motion controls for dualsense.

Killswitch case finally showed up and went on. Appears pretty good, don't really see the Switch as a handheld, but nice to have it a sturdy protective shell all the same for whenever I take it out of docked mode and whatnot.

Has been some worry over the joycon covering increasing the fulcrum leverage point leading to situations where the main unit will drop if holding the unit solely by on joycon. Not unjustified though, but this unit appears OK. Definite increase in the flex compared to without the case, but not as severe as what some have experienced. Despite Dbrand's usual, on-brand, dismissive initial response to reports, I actually do agree with the 'Why would you hold it that way to begin with ?' question. Still, lessons learned and they've done their usual climbdown and are making sure further shipments aren't affected/sending replacement joycon covers etc, so anyone concerned can avail of that or wait for later shipments.

Not sure I'd bother with replacements anyway, as it's a docked machine 99.9% of the time, but at least it's getting addressed. Stick grips are grand, much the same as they've produced before so the joycon sticks are finally usable. Dock is a little bit unwieldy compared to the just the normal action, but it works and at least there is zero fear about scratching the screen.

Not a cheap case admittedly, but they've become my standard with the Steam Decks and such, so continuing on with the Switch 2. Once they fully addressed the joycon issue, it'd be a solid recommendation.

Will these hard cases not cause over heating and prevent the Switch from release heat?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,376 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Not as long as the vents aren't covered/cut outs are accurate . That where most of the heat would be dissipated from the Switch.

Great news, for me at least

Namco's Air Combat is coming to Switch 2

I played the heck out of it on the PlayStation, it was great fun
