Revenge based on a game 12 years ago? Eh no.

We played them in Thurles last year and were reasonably comfortable from the 55th minute on. They will put it up to us but I expect to be in the final once the final whistle blows.

Limerick expected to be in the All-Ireland semi-final when the final whistle blew today.

We weren't caught out last year by Dublin, we beat them.

I expect the same result the next day too.

Its the same for us like Limerick today. They didn't play to their own standards and got caught out. If we do the same we might be too. If we play our usual game and get things going, we could easily blow them away. So really we just need to worry about how we play and we should be ok. Other than the first Limerick game, we have been performing well. Our speed will be a nightmare for them.

We need to finish them early and make sure they are not with us or ahead with 5 mins to go or we could be in trouble. The few weeks layoff is what I'm worried about. We won't have a game for 3-4 weeks. That won't help matters.

We have no excuses not to go all the way now. I was worried slightly about another meeting with Limerick but hopefully it will be a Cork and Kilkenny all Ireland final. We've lost all Irelands to Kilkenny over the years.

We've beaten them a few times as well of course in finals but losing to Tipp in an all Ireland final would be awful really. We'll be starting to get a Mayo like reputation for choking if we fail to go all the way now.

I totally agree. The layoff is the biggest worry. The minor team got caught by Clare as they came out of the blocks hungry while we took an age to get going. You would hope the seniors have more exprience to not let it happen!

An early goal or 2 would really see us settle. I can see us getting goals against Dublin as Limerick had one shot saved that should have been a goal and really another chance that should have been a black card

depends on who you meet in the final , kilkenny are dangerous opposition, they out hurled us last year in the semi final but were more conditioned for the last 10 or 12 minutes , our game against cork was almost 50/50 from start to finish in the final

kilkenny have the most tenacious backs in the country and are very hard to break down , it require a completely different type of effort against them then any other side in the country

a final v tipperary would be 50/50 and which cork forward breen picks up , who eoin Connally picks up or who robbie doyle follows , in the half backline or midfield area ye have the upper hand against tipp much tougher area to get right against kilkenny , and eoin coady will be back for it

Surely experience of 2024 would also be a deciding factor if we beat Dublin and get to a final.

One person on the Limerick thread is on about our supposed soft path to an all Ireland now. Well we came through Munster as champions and we did beat Limerick in Croke Park last year.

Such a talk is also a bit insulting to the Dublin team who beat them and whoever we play in the final if we get there. There's nothing soft about playing Kilkenny in an all Ireland final for example.

It's easy for them to make excuses. You have to be good enough in the business end of the championship and every game you play or you risk getting defeated. No All Ireland is easily won. I much prefer to play Dublin than Tipp to be fair

Cork and Kilkenny must get to the final before we start worrying about that.

Be very hard for dublin to repeat that display in 2 weeks. They were like men inspired after the red card. Conor Burke and currie had dream days. But cork will be a completely different challenge to limerick. Cork have legs all over and dublin have conceded a lot of goals this year

I'd take losing to Tipp over KK in a final from now until the end of time, at least it would be a Munster winner!

Hopefully Tipp batter them and retire the likes of TJ. The longer the KK famine continues the better, if they win this year it'll be one of the softest ever for them, besides the fact they waltz into a SF every year.

What gives you that impression? We threw it away against Clare - Whatever that sorry excuse of a Limerick game was - Wasn't tested due to the red against Tipp - Beat a Waterford team that isn't any good - Won a Munster final on penalty's - Now can Cork win it yes they can but saying we are the standout left is way wide of the mark imo

No we don't have that reputaton.

About the "wasn't tested due to red card" up above, Cork made it that way. This is what I have been saying since we beat Tipp and is magnified by yesterday. When you have an advantage, you kill the game off quickly or else the other team gets momentumand starts to believe in an upset. In the Tipp game, we got our first goal after 5 mins, then second at 12 min and third at 16 mins. So its game over. Yesterday Limerick didn't do any of that and it would have been one team you would bet your house on it that they would kill them off. I was worried in the Tipp game that this would happen to us, where the crowd get jittery and we choke and lose. But we didn't. It is easy to start thinking about the next day and having no injuries. Of course winning with a man advantage is what should be happening but as we saw it can easily have an opposite effect.

I felt Limerick looked past Dublin and were preparing for kk they had no intensity at all - It was like a training match to them and they just couldn't get going and paid the price for it, On to your point regarding the red card in the Tipp game it didn't do us any favours at all on where we are. Which is average BTW and not showing all Ireland winning form in the slightest…

We are in a good place. 2 games to win an All Ireland. League and Munster Championship in back pocket. Injuries hopefully healing or healed up. An unbelievable team of rivals knocked out. No one will take Dublin lightly as we saw the game so they are capable of great things. But so are we. We have a really strong bench which is vital. A lot of goal threats and Dublin have conceded a fair bit. The main thing is to focus on ourselves and our own game and make sure we perform on the day. Our speed and pace will be key.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11 The_Cobra

I agree this team can turn it on and can match any county on song, The consistency isn't there atm and it's a worry - We seem to drift in and out of games regularly…

I believe this years all Ireland will go to whoever wins on July 6th.

Wow, bitter much?…grow up ffs, it’s only a game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,120 ✭✭✭Seadin

Your beloved Tipp had the reputation of being chokers to Kilkenny from 2009-2014 and really only beat Kilkenny in 2016 when half their team had retired. Ye beat Kilkenny in 2019 due to an unfair sending off. Ye are also the masters of winning one in a rows and never following it up. Fickle as fcuk.

People forget that we have actually one won two games in the championship so far (Tipp and Waterford). Technically we didn't "win" the Munster final. That doesn't mean we can't win the All-Ireland though of course.

I wouldn't let's be fair. The bridesmaids of hurling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11 The_Cobra

No it doesn't, It also shouldn't mean that it's ours to lose based on the championship games so far where we haven't truly given an exceptional performance to warrant our favourites tag...
