Happy for Spaun seems a humble guy , and he played best golf all week...deserved...didn't moan after bad breaks ..got on with it stayed there ....many of the so call stars could learn from him

And he hit a rake with his second shot on the next hole as well I think it was, which put his ball deeper in the rough.

Great effort by MacIntyre, just fell short. Delighted for JJ, seems like a solid Pro who has shown good progress and held it together very well.

Nine US Open appearances for Schauffele, never finished outside the top 14 with seven top 10s. Finished T12 this week. Some record. He'll surely win it some day

As bad as he played at times it's another top 20 in a major for Mcllroy.

Didn't stay up for it but looks like the break in play came at the right time for Spaun.

Scheffler must be kicking him himself this morning. The amount of make-able birdie putts he missed around the middle of his round yesterday.

He finished 5 off the winner and I think you'll find that everyone missed putts.

I kinda have that Paul Casey/Lee Westwood vibe off Hovland.

He will have good few chances but seems come up short so often. Scott not much better but at least he got his major. Hovland has age well on his side tbf.

Will say I think the course set up worked out very well. If they had the heavy rough too far back then the weekend would've been birdie fests....relatively speaking. Really added to it all, a right premium on accuracy

He hit 15 greens in regulation yesterday - second in the field and would have expected to make a few more birdies.

He bogied 11 from a position where he had a very make-able birdie putt.

If McIlroy parred all the holes he bogeyed he would have won with ease.

If I didn't have an 8 on the seventh, another 8 on the 11th and a 7 on the 15th i'd probably have won the Captain's Prize 2 years ago.

I'd imagine that was mathematical based on their recent form and performance when in contention for a win. It might not have included major performances.

I do math every week to pick my golf bets. I narrow it down to 10-12 golfers before I do the maths.

Sometimes the math is so in favour of somebody that's not on the list I bet on them.

The lower the score the better. First is usually anywhere from 25 to 50. This week the leader was 13. You can guess who had that was, it's easy.

Second was 38 for Ryan Fox.

The stats were sg tee to green, greens in regulation, putting average and sg around the green. I did Sam Burns and Ben Griffin also despite their stats in one category being weak, Burns GIR and Griffin ARG.

I use stats from the last month.

I didn't do Scheffler because you couldn't back him each way.

I'll you the infpo for the Travelers. Driving accuracy, sg T2G, sg approach, putting average.

I don't know the field yet but Scheffler will have the lowest score even though his driving accuracy isn't good.

The first guy that comes to my mind is Russell Henley before I check anything. I'll be doing every golfer I select in the without Scheffler market.

Scheffler's driving accuracy isn't good? So far in 2025 he is +4.9 yards longer than tour average and, +5.8% more accurate than tour average, that's phenomenal.

Did you miss the bit about the last month? His accuracy hasn't been good in that period.

Even with that I know he'll still be number 1 in my stats for the Travelers.

Fair enough, perhaps you should have more accurately phrased it " his driving accuracy hasn't been good" :) Not sure that's even accurate though tbh per datagolf stats.

Over the last month his driving accuracy percentage is 56.5 which is awful. It's not like it's slowed him up though.

JJ must be the coolest Major Champ in a while, skateboarder before he took this golf lark seriously. Hopefully not a one major champ.

It's some comeback after what happened to him in the players championship playoff. Many players wouldn't get over that for at least six months if not a lot longer. Especially someone whose not used to being in contention in big tournaments.
