Thought I was the odd one for watching it occasionally for the scenery.

Was never much of a fan of Nico - I preferred his cousin Dan. There was something authentic about him, both as a cyclist and in interview.

As to losing interest - it was more so that I wasn't prepared to pull the wool over my eyes any more. Cycling has always had huge issues with cheating and for so long I looked the other way but the muted response from the professional peloton to Armstrong's final dismissal was the last straw. From the administrators to team management to the cycling press and the riders themselves, they were all complicit, and in 2012 I decided that none of them really wanted to deal with the massive issues in the sport and would rather carry on as I had done as a spectator. So that was me out.

    https://99percentinvisible.org/episode/mini-stories-volume-14/

There's a mini podcast there about how the organisers of the TdF realised they could make better use of the scenery.

The black cloud that often seems to be spewing out the back of Expressway buses. Also their fondness for tailgating.

people who make a mistake and subsequently try implicate others to deflect from their blunder.

just put your hand up, fix it and get on with your day ffs.. nobody will remember your mistake in an hour or two, but now will remember the silliness of you blaming other people..

On holiday websites and you have to enter your kids ages.

Some of them only count a child as up to 12yrs old.

I mean, in what world is a 13yr old an adult?

Law defines the age of a child, yet the holiday websites can just knock years off it at a whim to profiteer.

When you buy a block of cheese and the packet is basically shrinkwrapped around it. So unless you cut off a good sized chunk, it's night on impossible to get it back into the packet.

I see An Post has now jumped on this trend with the slogan "Making Better Happen". Having a company's marketing dept sound like a bunch of toddlers just learning how to form sentences is an odd approach.

The tagline that really annoys me is "Because your worth it".

I went to put sugar in my coffee, this morning. I got the sugar bowl only to discover it was empty, so I put it beside the mug, then I got the bag of sugar to fill it. You'll never guess what happened next!

Spotting my annoying neighbour a distance from me in the busy supermarket and taking immediate evasive action to avoid.

Two aisles later we meet head-on and I have to stand and endure 20 minutes of him talking s**te before he moves off. 😣

Took a flight from the Costas recently...sitting behind a big unit with a large GAA head on him.

Never stopped moving in the seat...looked like he had a personal goal to move to move it two rows back without getting out of it !

happily we hit a bit of turbulence and I took the opportunity to ram my knee into the small of his back…hard.

Softened his cough so it did...
