    Displacing a population or ethnic group, from their home for generations, is genocide/ethnic cleansing.

    What are you on about?! Someone move you and your family, tomorrow morning, from home, into an outdoor concentration camp. I'd say you'd find that a basic denial of human rights.

    Netanyahoo threatening the world with his 'invisible' nuclear weapons

    You don't know what you're talking about.

    Using your…ahem…"logic", the holocaust wasn't genocidal because so many Jews survived.

    If only you realised how dumb your point sounds.

    Genocide has 5 points.

    • Killing members of the group;

    • Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;

    • Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;

    • Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;

    • Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group

    This is what Israel is doing.

    For both parties to agree to leaving Gaza would not be Genocide. Of course another country needs to agree to taking in all these people, and compensation should be part of it

    I thing Iran are going in big on Israel soon. It's why Trump told many people to leave Middle East yesterday. Something is going down

    You're contradicting the point you tried to make earlier…"My point is killing everyone is genocide"

    You don't know what you're talking about.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,924 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

    It's not. Genocide is very clear in its meaning. Both parties would have to agree to getting out of this pile of rubble that is Gaza, and going somewhere safe. Don't think for one minute I'm on Israel's side.

    Ah yes, the stronger will never lose, as the story of David and Goliath teaches.
    As the US war in Afghanistan teaches.

    Israel attack Iran , happening now , in before Iran attack them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,924 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

    Trump told em not to do it, but Israel did it anyway, totally out of control nation. Trump was trying to do a deal with Iran, didn't need Israel to attack them right now

    Im assuming everyone agrees Iran has a right to defend itself?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,924 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

    Israel said as much '' told nation to prepare for the response''

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 431 ✭✭Starfire20

    And if Iran strikes back, Israel will run crying to the US who will then most likely step in. Such small dick energy from Israel.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,969 ✭✭✭.Donegal.

    Netanyahu just made a speech, he said long live Israel, long live the United States. Apparently homes of scientists were also amongst the targets. The US and Iran were due to meet this Sunday so it kills any political solution.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 431 ✭✭Starfire20

    Netenyahu is such a coward. Invoking the US in an obvious attempt to have them to bail them out if Iran responds.

    Not particularly aimed at you or your post because others have raised the same points.

    Consider that Gaza is uninhabitable. If Gazans remain there, they would be packed in tight to a small area to start to rebuild the rest of the strip. That's possibly doable but probably not ideal. It would take decades and would be insufferable at least for a few years.

    So, allow those Gazans who wish to relocate to do so - with a full guarantee that they can return to Gaza if they wish. Those that remain would probably have a better quality of life. This who relocate ditto.

    The full cost of any relocation away and back to Gaza to be borne by Israel. Full cost of rebuild of Gaza to be borne by Israel. Compensation to be paid to Palestinians to be fully borne by Israel.

    Gaza to remain forever Palestinian.

    Anything that remotely looks like a forced and permanent relocation (no right of return) is absolutely a war crime, is ethnic cleansing and is Genocide.

    Also, Settlers removed from WB and East Jerusalem per ICJ rulings and Israel to pay reparations. Israel to retreat from Lebanon and Syria (Golan).

    Is that all possible? I'd imagine Israel would be apoplectic and I can't see them agreeing. But the "day after" will need to be considered at some point. Both Israel and the Palestinians have the right to safety and security.

    It is obvious the US authorised Israel to act. It appears this is only the first wave of air strikes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 431 ✭✭Starfire20

    Absolutely crazy that this genocidal ethno-state is constantly allowed to commit atrocities and we're all attacked if we criticise them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,492 ✭✭✭dmcdona

    Dangerous times ahead.

    This could (almost certainly will) take the focus off Gaza to the detriment of the Palestinians.

    I didn't see any reports of a direct hostile act from Iran so this appears to be preemptive.

    Israel now in full berserker mode.

    Israelis must be worried now of the possible Iranian response.

    All schools/work etc cancelled in Israel apart from essential workers. Israel attacks expected to last for days at a minimum.

    Its the framing of Israels attack as "preemptive" instead of the attack that it was... What a joke. I guess when Hamas attack Israel from now on, it will be framed as "preemptive".. Yeah, didn't think so

    Iran state tv children have been killed in attack on residential building.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,492 ✭✭✭dmcdona

    Not sure I understand your point?

    My understanding is that there was no action from Iran to justify an Israeli attack. Israel stating it attacked Iran's nuclear facilities to prevent them building nuclear weapons. That sounds to me to be "pre-emptive". But it is an unprovoked attack by Israel and to be condemned.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 431 ✭✭Starfire20

    What I'm saying is that all the western media I've seen so far have framed the attack as "preemptive" instead of "an attack". "Preemptive" is an attempt to soften the language and distract from who the aggressor is. The same framing would not be used in reverse.

    You do realise that the Israeli military is incomparably superior to the Iranian One

    Iran can hit back, but Israel has a vastly better air force, air defense system and precision strike capability.

    The US may still assist with missile shoot down, but broadly speaking Israel will cripple Iran in any protracted exchange.

    This really boils down to how credible the claims are about Iran's nuclear programme.

    It's certainly not in the world's interest for Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.

    Unconfirmed reports that Iran’s head of the revolutionary guard assassinated along with other military leaders in their homes. All out war I fear is inevitable now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 447 ✭✭meepins

    Yes, the terror state of Israel needs to be turned to rubble.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,751 ✭✭✭✭nacho libre

    Yes we saw pro Israelis displaying this hypocrisy earlier. If Iran or any other country attacked Israel and stated it was pre emptive they would be condemning it as a crime of aggression There won't be an all out war as the Iranian know they will lose. Nethanyu has made Trump look like a fool

    Sounds like the warmonger folks in the US are about to self combust in excitement. A dream come true for that piece of **** no doubt.

    Israel doing what it wants with the full support of the US. But why wouldn't they given they've not been held accountable in any manner shape or form for their slaughter in Gaza.
