I expect we'll be seeing you in Croke Park in a few weeks time. Galway atm seem to be no great shakes even their own supporters are despondent on their thread. So Tipp probably should beat them imo.

We've won the league and now we've won Munster. Cork have done everything that's been asked of them so far to be fair.

i think they peaked for League and were all right in Munster first day out aside against Limerick. Do Cork know their best 15 don’t think so.. need more from FF line but think their bar to improve is much higher than Limericks.

The ref will generally give an in indication of what they will allow beforehand, let it play is okay if it applies to both sides and both sides have been made aware.

I would prefer if Cork could play a weaker opposition in their 4 week break just to keep players match sharp. Tipp will be waiting to have a crack off us.

In fairness to Ryan he has been doing the Jurgen Klopp thing of massively talking up the opposition at every opportunity. He has been very very complimentary about Limerick. He knows the PR game is very important, and that any little thing that give the opposition extra motivation is a mistake. He will be mortified of that video going viral.

Die hard Cork fan here - can I just say having watched back on Sunday with a bit less spur of the moment bias, huge credit to the two teams, officials, stadium, crowd for all contributing to an absolute classic.

It was fantastic stuff, probably a few more errors on both sides than normal but so much of that was the pace/power/ferocity of the game. Evident in extra time with referee/Fitzgibbon/Coleman/whole limerick back 6 all being out on their feet. The effort put in by both teams I think can be summed up in two separate incidents.

Tommy O'Connell's hook on Cathal O'Neill & Aaron Gillane chasing Robbie O'Flynn in 1st half of extra time. In both situations it would not show up on video analysis that they should have made that effort - it was 100% pure desire to win a match, cannot coach that - desire to chase a lost cause…

So after all of that Limerick will have Dublin/Kilkenny and Cork will have a Tipperary. Seems like Limerick have the easier path to the final imo.

Tipp will be ready for Cork and expect a furious tight game. It all depends on how Pat Ryan manages the 4 weeks off. I worry we will be a bit undercooked coming into that game with Tipp. Hopefully I'm wrong. Cant see Galway beating Tipp.

I'd say we will be ok as I remember seeing an interview with Pat Ryan where he was saying he got the layoff wrong between the league final and championship start. You would think that we have learned what went wrong with the break in between games. At least I hope we get it right this time!!

Also Darragh Fitz was voted GAA Hurler of the week.

Tipp always have problems with galway. 2 years ago after galway losing the leinster final and tipp putting a cricket score on offaly galway beat Tipp in the gaelic grounds.

I think that will be a fiercely Contested match, galway seems to have a mental thing with kilkenny but tear into tipp. If they make a few positional and personnel switches plus actually play with a bit of abandon I'd give them every chance.

Calling any game with Kilkenny "easier" is always dangerous!

Hopefully, but if anything brings the best out of Galway, it's the sight of the Tipp jersey. Whatever happens we need to perform on the day unlike that really poor loss to them in 2023 in a dreadful game.

Hoping for a scuttery win today in an hour. Just get it done and no need to keep pushing, again like in 2023 where we put a bit too much energy into absolutely slaughtering Offaly.

Cork ladies footballers are playing Kerry today in the Championship and its live on TG4 right now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,862 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Cork dominated the first half after gong a goal down straight away. Katie Quirke playing really well

    Cork 2-6 Kerry 1-3

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,862 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Cork having a meltdown now. 3 goals given away in under 10 mins and now Kerry up by 2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,862 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Twice now Katie Quirke has been fouled and the ref has given a free out. From us nearly getting back close now the gap is out to 5.

Really awful second half though from Cork

This performance from the Ladies reminds me of the mens. Looked really great in the first half and ended 6 points up.

Then a shocking second half and and ended up beaten by 7 points That is a huge swing. It shows that they have no game management at all.

It was clear Kerry targeted Katie Quirke in the second half but she got no protection from the ref. Then Kerry dominated.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 2,455 ✭✭✭mossie

Decent enough first half, up 10 to 6. Possibly should have had at least one goal though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,439 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Cork 0-10 Roscommon 0-6 HT. Deserve to be ahead but as now seems normal, we have missed a couple of very good goal chance

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,862 ✭✭✭The White Feather

If Iam Maguire would learn how to keep his shots lower we would have had 2 goals!

As close as you can get - but we won a game of football, delighted for them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,569 ✭✭✭Straight Talker

We just about got the job done in the end. How much further this team is going to go is anyone's guess though. A quarter final is most likely about as far as we're going to go imo.

Cork just about fell over the line. We won't be going any further but we will expect that.
