Yebbut ... Russia has nukes. And the Armata tank. If they were at war with NATO, they wouldn't be showing restraint like they are in Ukraine. Apparently.

(Though to be fair to our resident trolls, they haven't used that line in quite a while)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 4,926 ✭✭✭Rawr

I suspect that line is a potential rabbit hole that Kremlin-friendly elements would not like to remind us of.

In all likelihood, they are not showing any restrain with Ukraine. The current effort is Russia going «all in» with thier chips on the table. I suspect their commitment to Ukraine amounts to nearly everything the Russian Federation has access to in terms of men & equipment. They might have done their best to not call this a war («SMO»…FFS) and used every trick in the book to instigate conscription without actually calling it that, but it is a war and they are conscripting people.

This is why we get one-sided battle reports filled with «concern» and «cauldrons», and little else. To support the Russians you have to leave out the part where the absolute best the Kremlin can do in a total war situation, with all of their resources thrown in…is a pathetic multi-year creap across the Donbass against numerically inferior foe.

Also, best not to mention how said foe took out the guts of 1 Million personell or nearly the entire usable stock of Soviet tanks…or removed the Black Sea Fleet from the fight without a navy. That would be a….concern…to them.

Two bridges collapsed last night in Russia. One of which collapsed as a passenger train was passing underneath. Latest casualties 7 dead and 66 people in hospital.

"if you get on the wrong train, get off at the nearest station, the longer it takes you to get off, the more expensive the return trip will be."

Infrastructure in the most corrupt country in world falls apart where every rouble and man is used to cosplay war gaming dreams of a delusional old man who has been in charge for over 25+ years

News at 11, unless it’s news about yet another Russian rocket and drone attack killing civilians, never posts those

It looks like history is starting up again.

It's clear that putrid and his moscow-aligned proxies are getting nervous. We've gone from Kyiv in three days to well over 3 years of war and the orcs have barely moved the frontlines despite over a million dead and counting.

These latest "supposed" feelers for a ceasefire do indicate a level of desperation. putler demands Crimea + 4 other oblasts (that they only half control). Then on the other hand, he threatens that he will take another two oblasts if Ukraine doesn't agree to his "deal".

Of course all notions of putrid being willing to end the war are a fabrication. All his supposed ceasefires that he organised in the past were broken before the ink even dried on his decree.

The only just and lasting peace Ukraine will get is when the orcs are removed from every inch of occupied Ukrainian territory.

What do you expect for a country that cuts corners on all its infrastructure? Presumably they put as much effort into building their bridges as they do their tanks. With any luck we'll hear of a few more collapsing over the next few days. Ideally till there's none left.

What would happen if the UN gave Russia an ultimatum to leave Ukraine or within a month NATO airforces would bomb the Russian forces from the air. Putin would cry foul but ultimately what could he do? Maybe it’s time to rip off this plaster and we could all go back to minding our own business including Russia.

Russia was built on corruption, and corruption is what will bring down the Putin regime…i will devour itself.

For those not paying close attention, this is claimed to be part of a revenge attack on (at least) two major Russian aifields, under way right now.

One is the old reliable Olenya base almost 2000 km away. The other is more than 4000 km behind the frontline.

If Ukraine has figured out how to reliably use FPV drones like that, Putin's lifespan has just got a lot shorter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,631 ✭✭✭Wolf359f

It's a pretty unprecedented attack, thousands of miles from Ukraine with FPV dronee and with footage of the attack. However Ukraine has achieved this, I hope they remain silent about it

I doubt it, wrong bridges, ;-)

Russia's Railways initially blamed the collapse in the Bryansk region, which borders Ukraine, on “illegal interference in the operation of transport”, in a likely reference to Ukrainian saboteurs, but the Telegram post was later removed.

Prominent Russian military blogger Semyon Pegov, who uses the name War Gonzo, called it “sabotage”.

Sounds more like special ops and demolition charges.

The Orcs stole most of those from Kazakhstan. They value them very highly and that is going to really hurt.

They hit four military airfields so the Orcs won't be too happy about today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,570 ✭✭✭✭Say my name

40 aircraft supposed to be hit today and these are the big bombers and cargo movers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,546 ✭✭✭thatsdaft

One has to wonder how is it the supposedly second best military in world can only hit hospitals and playgrounds and residential blocks

And while the poorest country in Europe who said military attacked and attempted to invade can precisely strike military facilities, ships and ammo dumps often thousands of kilometres away

Tis a mystery unless the denials that Russia deliberately targets civilians are lies

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,631 ✭✭✭Wolf359f

It will take a while for people to trawl through all the footage and satellite images to confirm the number but I hope it's as high as 40!

    Absolutely incredible strikes by Ukraine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,131 ✭✭✭RoyalCelt

50 planes targeted but the final number hit could be 10 or 20. Regardless it'll take a while and either way this is a hugely damaging attack.

These are already the relocation sites from closer to Ukraine. Where do you go from here.

Reports of an A-50 being hit and possibly destroyed. Men drove Vans and trailers to the airbases and FPV's flew out from the trailers. Reports of drivers running around in panic after not knowing what was happening.

    Looks like deep infiltration.

    Untitled Image

It could be a joke but coming from MAKS 25, It might well be a hint. The Orcs are so rattled they are prepping an Oreshnik. Talk of warning the civilian population has me worried they are considering using a nuke.

    Untitled Image

Because, since when did they ever consider the civilian population of Ukraine anything but targets?

Well I guess we'll find out. If he doesn't nuke now he never will. Attacks don't get any worse then this and last years massive incursion into Kursk.

My guess is he uses that missile but without a nuke. Will it just hit random civilian targets like the last time either on purpose or because it's inaccurate.

A bigger escalation would be targeting whatever Kyiv's equivalent of the Kremlin is. I believe so far they've not really been damaged.

Very concerning for Russian long range aviation. Peace negotiations are available.

The ghost of Paddy Mayne strikes Putin's folly.

The red line gradually shifts towards Vladivostok.

Meanwhile Zelenski announces his delegation travelling to Turkey for peace talks on Monday 😂

Meanwhile a strong explosion and secondary detonations are reported in Severomorsk, according to Russian channels. Severomorsk is the main administrative base of the Russian Northern Fleet.

So looks like the Russian Navy was targeted today. Plenty of videos of drones leaving truck trailers and it looks like many of the trailers detonated after the attack. Pretty well organised. Ultimately I hope this attack has reduced Russia's capacity to fire long range missiles at Ukraine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,570 ✭✭✭✭Say my name

A nuclear armed submarine may have also been hit in Severomorsk. Big fire there.

    Putin underestimated attacking Ukraine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,135 ✭✭✭✭cnocbui

The United States is not deploying a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile battery to protect Ukraine, as it will do in Israel, given the different defense capabilities of the two nations, Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh said at a briefing on Oct. 15.

Following Iran's recent attack on Israel, Washington authorized the deployment of the THAAD in the country to bolster Israel's missile defense capabilities. The advanced surface-to-air interceptor is designed to shoot down incoming ballistic missiles.

Not equipping Ukraine with THAAD was both disgusting and deeply, deeply stupid. That arsehole Jake Sullivan again, who's Jewish, surprise, surprise.

    Over 40 aircraft burning!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,936 ✭✭✭Homelander

Incredible operation. Putin is probably re-enacting that famous Hitler meltdown scene from Downfall as we speak.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,131 ✭✭✭RoyalCelt

I believe multiple submarines are located there. It'll make my day if the number of subs Russia has lost reaches 2 or more after they lost the one in crimea. The yanks will be delighted with one less Russian sub to keep track of.

Isn't it a bit strange this happens shortly after Trump said bad bad things Will happen to Russia if they don't stop. Russian aviation can only take so many attacks like today.

    Edit:

Images online show the Russians strangled one of the truck drivers. If he was Indeed a Russian civilian who didn't know any better they just did Ukraine a favour by tying up a lead.

The Russian FighterBomber Telegram channel who is usually very reliable for Russian Airforce news has confirmed 4 bases have been bit by these drones strikes https://x.com/NOELreports/status/1929145125873033613
