Thinking of heading this year if my county doesn't make all ireland final. Line-up is always so good. Is camping far from the venue and is it free flow to take cans?

no booze allowed into festival grounds.
A few different camping areas depends of using campervan or general camping. 5-10 min walks

They announced the main stage acts.

Last year the last acts on Friday and Saturday night finished at 1.30am so seems like very late slot for Orbital (probably 12am until 1.30am)

No idea why Kula Shaker are so high on the bill when bigger bands like Therapy? are on earlier? Or is that just a list of bands and stage times are to be announced?

In their day, they'd have been a band with a much wider appeal than Therapy?, mor (if hippy fringed) rock vs hard rock veering into metal.

KS defo got a lot more publicity, very much helped by Mills being a 90s version of what is now called a nepo baby.

    Neil Young

    Daft Punk

    Seattle Grunge experience

    Johnny Cash

Capacity will increase to 12k per day for this year with potential for 15k per day.

Last year the tents for some performances like Tribute to Shane McGowan, These Charming Men and The Undertones were absolutely jammed when there was supposedly only 5k there.

Hopefully the organisers ban the lawn chairs in the tents during the popular acts this year. It was beyond nuts last year. Hundreds of chairs up at the front blocking everything..

Definitely looking at this. Decent lineup throughout the weekend. Therapy? playing Troublegum in its entirety would be the highlight for me.

Has anybody any idea whether Forest Fest sold out last year??

Yep, them and Kerbdog are a definite draw. Might wander over for the pillow queens and then leave after Therapy?

Kula Shaker are pure trash - Feile 97 was one of the worst gigs I've ever seen. Both them are the Manics were scandalously poor with dragged out sets because everyone only wanted to hear their 3 supposed hits. The organisers had it right on the Feile 93 lineup with Therapy? higher on the bill.

I must've been at a different gig. The Manics set list that year was class. They were huge at the time with the Holy Bible and Everything Must Go both released within the previous 3 years.

Saturday is a really solid line up at Forestfest, I'd be surprised if there wasn't something to take your fancy after Therapy?

That raindrops keep falling on my head rubbish annoyed me. Was never a huge fan of them and always hated everything must go. They only got worse since.

I might check out the Stranglers but I saw them recently enough. Signing off the night with Therapy? is never a bad shout. They're a hard band to top!

Was wondering about the Stranglers. You say you saw them recently. I think it's only 1 original member left with them? What are they like live these days? Do they do justice to their magnificent late 70s stuff?

Saw them at EP last year. They were excellent.
