Same here, no idea and I've read some of the books along time ago.

It's been over a decade since I read the books so I'm missing a lot of the changes. Really enjoyed Season 3, particularly the "Golden Eyes" episode focused on Perrin's defense of the Two Rivers.

Bit of a kicker for those of us following it. Cancelled.

    balls

That's disappointing. We'll probably get an AI generated reboot in 5 years time.

Yep. And season 2 probably had more of a finale feel than season 3 which ended with so many balls in the air.

Yeah, while season 1 was slow it got better as it went on and season 3 was really good. I haven't read the books.

I assumed they were just going to keep the pattern of alternating years for this and Rings of Power.

The rings of power shite will keep chugging along though

Not terribly surprising. Too niche and too expensive. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rings of Power go the same way.

I gave up on the books around the same point, think I was about halfway through the fourth book. There was some really interesting and good stuff in them but way too much boring stuff to wade through to get to those bits.

Ultimately I just couldn’t justify the time commitment required.

I would like to know how the story pans out. Is there anywhere you can get a decent condensed version of what happens?

Very disappointing news, though it would get at least 1 more season.

I do think it's going to be difficult for any such multi-book fantasy series to get made any more due to the costs involved. Definitely not on streaming, but is the will/money there with terrestrial/ cable TV studios?

Unless in a few years when ai can generate the bulk of the visual effects. Aside from costs, taking 2-3 years between seasons, which them only have 6-8 episodes doesn't help with watcher engagement. Surely with all the book material for WoT, they could have come up with a few more episodes each season that didn't need much vfx, without it being just "filler"?

Perhaps it'll resurface as an animated series in the near future?

    I was surprised yday.
But I’m actually really pissed off about it now.
The third season was really good.

But on the bright side, vindication for those of us who thought it was an aberration from the start.

**** the showrunner and the writers (and frankly the actors they shoehorned in). They tried to think they were better than an author that sold millions.

    They were wrong. Amazingly.

Here's the fun part though; a full season of WoT would still only pay for 1 or 2 episodes of the LoTR:RoP (yea, figure that one out for cancellations and egos).

@Dave_The_Sheep Been a long time since I read it and I can't remember the timeline. What were the main changes? Seanchan seemed to arrive a lot earlier than I recalled? Other than that it was very weak but improved season on season to where 3 was decent.

So as someone who wasn't too bothered by the changes I wouldnt have minded they kept going, could be a while if ever we see wot again

I mean, both were total muck. Just one has bigger brand name recognition.
