I've heard it's Peter Malone to Boh's, not Simon

no it’s Simon, I’ve heard through a friend that Nenagh are being sent on paid holiday to Tenerife 😂😂

After winning a Senior Cup and being promoted to 1A, I think they more then deserve it

This can't be true about Lee Nicholas? He's still playing? Are Matt brown and Neil Cronin still involved with Shannon, doubt they'd want to be taking direction from a player!

    Who's Garryowens HC now?

It is true. Lee is contacting players and recruiting as DOR. Neil Cronin remains as backs player-coach

is Mick Sherry staying in situ? Seemed to improve them quite a bit near tail end of the season. Heard that about Lee & Shannon. He must be retiring, coaches Crescent Comp and very highly regarded by all accounts

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29 Limerick-Kid

Yes re Mick Sherry. It seems Keith Wood is doing the recruiting for Garryowen which is odd. No confirmation as to who the HC is going to be.

For someone who deals in facts, you are miles off the mark here.

He is new forwards coach with OC and will likely be captain for next season too.

James Cronin coaching Highfield next season

Vinson was named in the Leinster A side today. Doubt they'd be doing that if he was heading back to Australia.

Ben manion who coached bective back to the AIL and is rock school senior coach moving to coach goreys junior 1 side. Strange bective not keeping coach who got them back senior.

just heard Vinson was due to head back to Aus, maybe he will stick around if he’s involved with Leinster. Is he Irish qualified? Hard to see him taking an NIQ spot with Leinster if not. UCD losing a lot of players, Bobby Sheehan & James Tarrant to Lansdowne, Mangan to Blackrock, Evan Moynihan to Mary’s, that’s a lot of quality to lose. Hopefully some good young players coming up for them

very odd re Mannion, who will take over there?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 4,997 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lost Ormond

Appears manion lives down around there. He had coached enniscorthy previously while still teaching in rock so makes sense

Understand Young Munster have recruited Connacht Academy players Harry West and John Divine along with Connacht A player Kelvin Langan from Garryowen. Dylan Hicks is moving back to Cork and is going to Highfield or Cork Con. A lot of business being done in Mid-West with transfer window closing in a few weeks. All quiet at Shannon, Old Cresc and Nenagh who are keeping things under the radar. Bohs have apparently signed outhalf Cian Casey from YM.

I've read somewhere (may even have been here) that Hicks was supposedly going to Nenagh as their 10 (Pope) is going back to NZ or Aus. Talks of Connacht sending some academy lads to Nenagh also.

Young Munster announced their coaching team for the new season on twitter, Ger sla and james o'neill stay on. Stephen Carey is backs coach, Mike Haley is his assistant John Ryan is scrum coach and Eoghan cross is a law advisor. Is that role common in the AIL?

Wish more clubs would announce their coaches like cookies, any news on who Carlos spencer is bringing with him?

I see Bective announced Ben Mannion as head coach again- is he doing both or has he already left Gorey? Very odd either way 😂

any con supporters here? I'm almost fairly sure rob hedderman is back with con this year…….. think he was only in dublin for a season last year while he does a masters or something?

Been a while since posted anything in here (or online for that, a time out from Internet no bad thing let me tell you)

Congrats to Clontarf on a great year and league win and especially Nenagh @ormond lad

Also the few lads from Lansdowne here. Good bounce back season from you lads. You'll be there or thereabouts next year

Obviously Carlos the big news. Interesting but feels like we will spend alot of money

On transfers. I'm sure somethings already said

But Jim White and Mikey O'Reilly from Terenure to UCD. Harrison Brewer coming back.

We are looking for a new 9. Alan Bennie gone

Alan Spicer going to Clontarf. Told Wanderers bringing a good few bodies in. Tom Daly to Lansdowne

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 362 ✭✭luke9311

any word on where Bennie’s off to? Is it a club move or a move abroad for work or other reasons?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 660 ✭✭✭Chico Flores

No idea on Bennie, just that we are looking for a 9. Tried to get Oliver Coffey but he is staying in Blackrock

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29 Limerick-Kid

Alan Bennie is heading to Australia.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22 CBC14

Bennie will be a loss but comes with a lot of baggage, Coffey would have been a great signing for Terenure, can’t imagine they will see much of Fintan Gunne. Is Chris Connor’s still there, a lot of hype around him this year, he could be the long term option for them. Heard Tom Daly to Lansdowne, Spicer to Tarf, Sparrow to Mary s (UCD losing a lot). Belvo trying very hard to get the Michael’s senior Cup players, would be a good move with Belvedere school falling behind quite a bit. Bernard Jackman taking up a role with Navan? Anyone know what’s going on there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 362 ✭✭luke9311

always wondered given recent events in the irfu what will happen to the 7s players if they will go back to ail clubs or not and get game time . roche, mollen, phillips lawlor ed kelly etc etc etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29 Limerick-Kid

News in Limerick is that Keith Earls will be lining out with Thomond in 2C next season. Should attract good gate receipts at home games

Genuinely wonder how many clubs have to hire Bernard Jackman before it’s accepted that he only looks out for himself and isn’t that good a coach.
