thank you thats interesting ! Could be that the 1.2 batch invites are not officially out yet, just the reschedules from 1.1 !

I had to submit mine on a Wednesday morning, my interview was the following Monday.

It appears that they just called the people that missed interviews for Batch 1.1 (so far)

Has anyone else been contacted for Batch 1.2? (That hasn't missed earlier interview)

I asked for an update today and this is the response from PAS,

"At present we have called forward up to open OOM 53 and interdepartmental OOM 26 to stage 3 interview and presentation for Dublin."

Yikes.. best start concentrating on the aptitude for next comp so!! I'm mid 500s so no chance of getting called when this is only going to be a year comp.. unless they extend it, was surprised they said it was only going to last a year

Two days beforehand, heard of others being 3-4 days.

Interesting - I emailed them last Friday with the same question, and the response was different:

"At present we have brought forward up to open OOM 42 to stage 3 interview for Dublin.

As we are operating a demand led recruitment approach for this competition, therefore we are unable to predict if or when vacancies will arise, so we are only calling candidates forward when there is a demand from Departments to fill vacancies within locations."

So they only called additional 11 OOMs for the 1.2? Or doing smaller batches?

    ".

They didn't even start to call Galway!!!

"At present we have brought forward up to open OOM 42 to stage 3 interview for Dublin.

This might be crazy but 53 and 42 are very close together when typing. I suspect its a typo?

I'll take my tinfoil hat off now.

I was called this week and indeed I fit under the 53 OOM, so could be true.

No movement in westmeath at all yet either. Would be nice to even just find out if we've been shortlisted

Was this for a rescheduled interview also? Or was your OOM somewhere between 42 and 53?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4 _SpringOnion_

I asked again for an update - and PAS got back to me today with the following:

"At present we have called forward up to open OOM 61 and interdepartmental OOM 28 to stage 3 interview and presentation for Dublin"

So yes, it seems that they are currently going through the batch 1.2 for the interviews, but it is very, very slow as it was 53 a week ago.

No, not rescheduled, but OOM between 42 and 53.

I'm in Dublin batch 1.1. Got told 3 weeks ago that I passed interview. Pre-employment check process started today. Job offer after that.

To give an idea of timeline, I had my interview the last week of March, results 3 weeks later, pre employment checks started 3 weeks after results.

    FYI.

PAS have said to me this morning they’ve called up to OOM 61 to interview in Dublin Batch 1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4 _SpringOnion_

OK, so it looks like they only took around 20 people this time around (assuming that there is more than one person for some of the OOM numbers). This seems very slow! I was hoping they will take another 40+ as my OOM is between 70 and 80, in which case I would be included as 1.2. But considering that I had the same answer (61) from PAS on Wednesday, they must have stopped at 61 last week so it is a very small batch.

I'm in Batch 1.1, OOM in the low 20s on the Open stream. No word yet on clearance so I'm guessing there's no urgency beyond the top half or so of those successful from the first round of interviews in late March. Unless anyone has insight into how they handle clearance: do they tend to do it on demand or in batches?

assuming that there is more than one person for some of the OOM numbers

This was discussed earlier in the thread. I think the conclusion was that there is only one person for each OOM number.

Very small batch which is surprising. I assume you'll be in Batch 1.3!

If there is only person for each OOM - then they are doing 1 week of interviews this time? And yes, I am hoping to be in the 1.3 although I fear that it will be over the summer (when I am on holiday). Anyway, I it is painfully slow, considering that I scored above 250 points at the shortlisting stage and I was hoping to have the interview behind me a bit sooner.

Whatever about the Dublin panel moving slow, spare a thought for those of us in other regions…I scored almost perfect scores in the tests but haven’t heard a word since and I am in a large county with many government departments…got to be the most frustrating application process ever invented

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12 mol_89

Yes seems that way! I have a similar OOM too so was hoping to be in 1.2 and get the interview done before the summer, but from experience on a different technical AP panel, these processes are crazy slow and the only way to keep your sanity is to put them to the back of your mind until you get word from PAS… it really is the most frustrating recruitment process imo

Just to say for those enquiring about Cork, I emailed public jobs last week and they are yet to call anyone forward to shortlisting/interview stage.

Hi, based on my communication with them I think my preemployment clearance will start in a couple of weeks. Did they give any indication to you how long that would go on for? And were you able to negotiate a start date at all (or maybe that only happens once clearance concludes). Thank you

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2 tk145

Can I ask whereabouts (roughly) you are on the OOM? And why are you anticipating clearance to begin? I asked about that too but only got back some cut-and-paste text

For what its worth I've emailed today to see if there was any movement, seems none so far.

I wonder why they're giving some people an update with different OOM figures?

How did people find the strategic analysis exercise in the interview and the prep beforehand?

This competition is moving real slow or is it just me?
