Getting through on 3 points brings a whole different level of pressure.

Ya we could turn it around but do you honestly see a team winning the All Ireland off the back of a draw and a win over a poor Waterford side.

The campaign so far eerily resembles the u20s! 3 good points away from home but failed to do the job at home, although I think we'll be plenty good enough to get at least 2 more points at home…Nash and Hayes changes in the half back line should address some of the issues we had with Cork last year.

Absolutely no chance we will end up on 3 pts, would be shocked if we are not in a Munster final on Sunday evening

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭biglad40isback

Waterford are not poor imo. Beat the all ireland champions. They are 2 pts from 4. I reckon a great chance v tipp.

Cork who won the all Ireland in april collapsed v a completely out of sorts Clare team ravaged by injury and were lucky to draw. The 14 man tipp match was a joke too.

We will see exactly where everyone is Sunday 6 pm

The All Ireland champions are utter shte year and Waterford are not a bad team but they were poor that evening against Limerick.

Don't forgot Cork were also down to 14 for the Clare comeback.

Very few if any games so far give a clear indication of where teams are. Sunday as you say will tell a lot.

I am fairly confident about Sunday. I think the likes of Hego and Hayes will up the gears and Gillane will torment the Cork back line. Limerick by 3.

    Really powerful squad

    some bench

    No O'Dalaigh.

I wonder if he is injured. I get the feeling they really don't have confidence in him.

Or maybe just no room because that's a serious set of forwards to bring on.

Plenty there to get the job done, hon Limerick

I think Will O'D could be the difference on Sunday. If he puts in a MotM performance we win.

Both teams are stacked but him and Lynch in very different ways can just do things no one else can.

Some of the betting markets on GAA matches are terrible value.

The odds for Sunday give Cian Lynch a 28% chance of scoring a goal. His actual goalscoring record in championship matches is 1 goal in 48 matches (2%).

I'd put Hegarty in that mix. If he's on, he's unmarkable

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 82 ✭✭Shocs24

Wouldn't like to have seen Barry Murphy in the corner. Not sure about Mike as a corner back for match like this against very pacy players

Incredible to imagine what Dowling might have scored if he'd been able to keep playing. Some serious moments of magic in his outfield career.

We cannot afford to leave any space in front of out full back line. I'd imagine that Kyle will play very deep with WOD covering also. English will be given a licence to get forward with Reidy asked to cover alot of space around midfield. We've a strong bench on paper but alot of players that are coming back from injury so it will be a serious cauldron to be thrown into. Great to see Hannon on the bench. I wonder if Limk are chasing the game would he be introduced with Kyle to wing back. Hannon doesn't cover other defensive positions so will be interested to see if introduced. It will certainly be a day for 5 subs to be and with Limk's experience on the bench we have an advantage here.

Our bench is jam packed with proven players and emerging talent.

A Limerick Bomb squad if you like!
Keeping the tempo high in the latter stages of the second half will deliver goals against that Cork backline, its like waiting for Christmas morning!!!
Just out in Limerick having a pint and everyone is talking about the game

Two great teams named. Should be a cracker. Good to have Cathal and likes of Aidan O C to come in.

Not sure I would start Byrnes against Cork (or anyone for that mayter). He has been a great servant, but offers very little anymore. Seems lazy. Likewise with Deccie - what a leader, but as poster above mentioned if we had to chase a game would he cover to allow Kyle move up. Personally, cant see it.

Just hope Sean, Dan and Mike last - we have far fewer options across the back line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,710 ✭✭✭✭billyhead

I wouldn't say Byrnes is lazy. I think he's lost a yard of pace which would be exposed against Corks running game.

People are talking like we got the sht kicked out of us last year but we lost by a bad mistake that led to a penalty and a few missed chances and too late changes.

We don't need to change much and Byrnes was never an unreal defender (so he hasn't lost something)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 660 ✭✭✭C4000

And the tweaks that needed to be made have happened. English and O Brien now established as starters and the half back line restructured.

After the Waterford game I'd feel we are coming nicely to the boil.

Cant say how ill feel after the match, but I'd be very happy going in to it.

    Limerck to win by 4.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭biglad40isback

Everybody seems to think that the kyle

Move to 6 was too late last game but we were winning at ht and i guess Kiely planned a third qtr assault. We missed a golden goal chance and for some unexplained reason cork played god mode for about 10 mins and were out of sight. I couldnt believe what i was seeing. They barely hung on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭biglad40isback

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,167 ✭✭✭Jizique

Kiely hinted strongly at that in his post match interview

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,329 ✭✭✭johnnyryan89

Casey was definitely reading Boards and said I'll change that come Sunday.
