I think his comments were based on how obviously the referee yesterday was influenced so much by a vociferous Waterford support.. i have seldom seen a referee as easily influenced as he gave soft frees to Waterford and ignored virtually all fouls on Limerick players. One pull across Gearoid Hegarty would in most games have drawn a card but yesterday, not even a free. Imo John Kiely wants the Limerick support in the Gaelic grounds to be as vociferous against Cork and ourselves a week later. Roll on those 2 games; both of which I have my Golden Ticket for!!!!

It's Colm Lyons though. Could have been no crowd there and he'd have reffed the same way.

Any time Lyons refs, if its close, bet on the draw.

He does his absolute best every time to keep a team in the game. And if its close coming down the stretch, he'll manufacture a draw.

In reality we were a good bit better than Waterford yesterday.

If Clares form is true, we should be seeing to them on the final day.

Its about putting a dent in Cork now.

Lyons is always a 16th man for whoever is playing against Limerick.

What's the story with Hannon? Is he injured?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,070 ✭✭✭einn32

Reidy was interviewed and seemed to say he was back training.

Very good performance overall. Scored consistently throughout the game and were comfortably the better team.

Finn and Morrissey were excellent at the back. Was sitting parallel to the full back line in the second half. Finn absolutely unreal at judging exactly when to get the stick in to prevent his man from winning ball.

Lynch is in absolute peak form at the minute. Reidy wasn't involved from a scoring perspective but had an excellent game tracking back and linking up the play.

Prudent decision to sub Byrnes given the ref involved and the fact that Coughlan was available to come in. He backed up his thurles performance with another solid display. One of many players that won their battles under the high ball.

Hayes at 6 is the obvious option for the overall structure of the team. His attacking threat isn't completely lost as O Donoghue is primed to drop back and cover when Hayes forages forward.

Kiely has issued the rallying call for 2 weeks time. Should be some occassion and an opportunity to lay a serious marker down.

It's hard for fans in these games you are expected to win. If you don't it's doom and gloom and if you do shure you were expected to anyway.

Cork and Clare won't be the same either at home or away for Limerick fans. Winning those will have the euphoria from a win in the bad old days.

is Hannon gone off the panel??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,070 ✭✭✭einn32

David Reidy said Hannon was "back on the grass" on GAA+. He was interviewed post Waterford game.

Kiely said in another interview that Peter Casey was just a knock.

Hayes at centre back is perfect. His distribution is most important from there so I dont think we are missing anything by moving him. Most of our good moves start from half back line through Lynch. Barry Nash at wing back is just as effective as Hayes going forward so nothing lost. Kiely and Kinnerk know that Hannon at centre back is where Cork got at us last year so Hayes should be a big addition in that situation with the fast runners that Cork have.

I'd imagine the team that started against Waterford will start against Cork. The temptation will be to start CON but not sure where you can start him given the form of all other players. Tom Morrissey, Hego and David Reidy all played well so will start I'd imagine with CON coming off the bench.

Ide start CON and have Tom as an impact sub. H

Is anyone interested in swapping 2 stand tickets for the Cork game next week (which I have) for 2 stand tickets for the Clare game ( which I need) only interested in a swap giving Cork tickets to receive Clare tickets.

A Waterford win against Tipp next week would take a lot of jeopardy out of Limerick's last two games. The only way we wouldn't qualify would be to lose our two matches and for Clare to overturn what's currently a 17 point scoring deficit.

A tipp win, on the other hand, would make it easier to qualify for a Munster final as a win in either of our two games would be enough.

Don't worry you could sell the Cork tickets I suspect there will be plenty of Clare tickets returned so they won't be difficult to pick up.

A Waterford win and us losing both our games would see us tied with Tipp and Clare on 3 points. We should still give through on points difference with Clare probably needing to beat us by 7 or 8 assuming we don't get ripped apart by Cork.

A Waterford win and a draw against Cork and its all over for Clare and Tipp.

look it would be great jeopardy if it comes down to a clare v limerick winner takes all game but i cant see ye losing next week because of that reason kiely will have the troops well fired up next week ,

A Waterford win would certainly take some of the pressure off Limerick as 3 points would prob get us through if we were to lose to both Cork and Clare. Tipp, Limk, Clare would be tied on 3 but our scoring different should be better than both Tipp and Clare. The hot conditions will give Cork an advantage with their younger legs but I expect Limerick will be fired up for this and with home advantage expect Limk to shade it.
