mayo were getting serious criticism from that buck when we were inches from beating the best team there’s ever been so I wouldn’t pay much heed to sweaty Pat

If you're listening to Spillane about serious football talk you'd need to have a word with yourself.

A great footballer in a different time a couple of generations ago, a sound fella to have a pint with,a good man on the after dinner circuit......knows fook all about Football in 2025.

    Sin è

A strong team named and as we know these lads are a serious bunch.

Apparently the Louth team are very formidable, as always with underage football it's hard to know how good teams in other provinces are.

Hoping for a Mayo win and a day out at a final.

Always hard to lose by a point though they should have been allowed that last attack.

Probably could have let play go on but no sense of urgency from Mayo players to get ball up the field so he probably just decided to blow up.

frustrating to watch as they could have sneaked it. Those 2 2 pointers from Lynch and Biernes sideline was top notch .

They were 3 brilliant scores alright, disappointing to have kicked the ball away coming out of defence after a hard won turnover. Tough one to take but there's some very talented footballers in that bunch. Any idea why we replaced the goalkeeper for this one? He pulled off some fine point blank saves but kick outs a bit one dimensional - I remember it being a bit of an issue from the 22 minor final as well.

He did but we didn’t attack

    We went slowly sideways

    Bizarre

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,174 ✭✭✭✭Loafing Oaf

Great leadership shown by Stephen Coen

That’s the only positive from the worst half of football we have deliver in two decades

They look like they don’t believe in what they are being asked to do

And I can’t blame team. It’s horrible slow football .

    Mind boggling

People who wonder what Coen brings to the team should take note of today's game. A born leader in a team lacking leadership.

No score in the first ~20 mins.

In a must win Championship game.

    At home.

    Against Cavan.

The management team should resign at half time....Jesus almighty 🙄

case for grinding it out in this sort of match no?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,174 ✭✭✭✭Loafing Oaf

4 points down now, whatever strategy was it’s not working 😦

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 4,450 ✭✭✭MacDanger

    4 down with ~15 left

3 now after a point from Ruane

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,174 ✭✭✭✭Loafing Oaf

    goal badly needed here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,133 ✭✭✭Barlett

There is nothing surprising about this anyway. Can’t see Mayo getting out of the group

    As bad as 2009

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,174 ✭✭✭✭Loafing Oaf

Still give us a shout against Tyrone, third on group is best we can hope for though…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34 Arkiema

I think the silver lining from this result will surely mean it's the end of the road for McStay and his crew once this season peters out. Same subs, same style of play and seems everyone is now just going through the motions. We might lift it again for one big performance against Tyrone / Donegal. This is bad.
