why can’t they just tell us when the matches are.
is it any wonder why the attendances are in the bin.

Louth minors beat Dublin by 12 points in the Leinster semi final tonight, worrying times about the talent coming through as Dublin seniors are looking to rebuild.

It's been a terrible few weeks for Dublin men's football. Last night was very comprehensive. Really important the seniors put jn a big performance against Galway.

I'm friendly with 2 people who coach at underage level. They both feel that over the last couple of years there has been a bigger emphasis Hurling. I don't know if true or not. But the underage hurling sides look to be in better shape

Dublin fans have plenty of experience at this so what time would you expect to be leaving Croker after a Leinster final? Regardless of who wins we'll stay for the celebrations. Starts at 4.15 so you'd probably be walking out of the stadium at 6.15?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,231 ✭✭✭diceyreilly

Been to every single one of them. Absolutely no idea what time i walked out but 2 hours is plenty imo. ( unless extra time )

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,716 ✭✭✭Trampas

Depends where you’re sitting as if down at the front it can take a good few minutes to get out but should be easier if you’re not pushed to hang around for the trophy presentation. You’d be out by 6.15 no problem

First time in a long time Dublin haven't contested a Leinster Final in any of the underage football finals. There really has to be a full on review of underage set up in the county .Credit to louth but last night was a terrible defeat fir us really .

I thought at one point re Dublin seniors that Dublin will manage to make it a gradual decline, then go back up in 5/8 years. Unlike other successful teams who ultimately have to start all over again.

But that does not seem possible? Human nature means managers stick with the old guard out of loyalty, blocking youngsters progress - Cluxton.

Eventually the old guard lose desire and have enough McCarthy, McCaffery, Fenton, Mannion, etc

Now there is the worst of both worlds a vacuum of not many experienced players, gaps in crucial areas of the pitch, and younger players who have not had much experience.

OK rule changes have not helped this, only accelerated the problems. But I can’t remember the last time I heard of a young player that fans know of, and can’t wait until breaks into senior. Jayus, you would think there would be one/two?

A good young fella can really put spark into a team, immediately thinking of what Jayo did in 95, or Alan Brogan later on.

You would have to wonder what happened now, nothing coming through?

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Was it Alan Brogan who was pointing to the scoreboard , I think in a Leinster final , when Dublin were thumping West Meath? Think that was around the time TV3 were showing games and somebody coined the phrase “Hollywoodism” about Dublin.

Looking at what’s coming through lower levels we could be heading back to those painful days!!!

The three match ticket goes from three for the price of two to just saving a tenner this year .

So the group is complete - Galway, Armagh, Dublin & Derry. Dublin have their work cut out, they'll likely win one of the games to get out of the group.

Enjoyed that game this evening but I doubt we would beat either on performances to date .Think a lot hinges on how we get on next week, don't expect anything other than a loss but the manner of it will proberly determine whether we qualify or limp out .At this stage looks like two losses anyway .

Product of their environment I think. I was at the 2005 Ulster Final. Held in Croke Park. Tyrone v Armagh.

Before throw in CP announced a minute’s silence for the London Tube Bombings.

There was a good few “Tiocfaidh ar la’s” from around the ground. Minutes silence ended early.

In fairness most of the crowd said “sush” and/or seemed embarrassed disgusted.
But there is definitely a nasty undertone (not found elsewhere) among a minority of some northern fans, in particular Armagh.

The Dublin Jackies did well v Meath were 3 down second half at one stage, and won by four.
I noticed Croke Park have put up two flags for Meath. Not just the one!

Must be worthy of a complaint to GAA HQ?

There's two Meath teams though, so I wouldn't have a problem with it

Looking at this, hard to believe Dublin lost to this Meath team. Just illustrates how poor Dublin were that day.

Unless the Derry boys have stopped huffing with Gallagher gone, Dublin will sneak third. Can't see them beating armagh or Galway

I say you won't be home until Tuesday with all the celebrations.

Happy to see Louth win that they have played some great stuff in last few years Gers doing an amazing job hope we see him back with the Dubs soon though!

Mulroy is a top player for Louth but there a very good team play as a unit.

Least that other shower got nothing in the end!

I see the 9.00 train back to Dublin from Galway next Saturday is sold out.

Do you reckon an extra train might be put on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 937 ✭✭✭Dogsdodogsstuff

Has anybody gotten their tickets yet? Bought the three ticket deal for season ticket and an extra one and can’t see any.

Also, presume the neutral game is against Derry but is it gonna be played breffini ?

Start of year I thought Louth were a good bet each way for Leinster. So not surprised they bet Meath.

Surprised Dubiln lost to Meath in Portlaoise though, should have finished them off but lacked the composure or plan. Meath were virtually gone.

Ger’s Louth definitely had a plan and they didn’t look panicky like Dublin did. Not much hopeful stuff from Louth, they know their jobs. Don’t see why Ger can’t do that with Dublin,

I wonder will Ger Brennan be hoping Dublin does not get out of group, then the job is his.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.
