Arsenal will be lucky to get a draw here.

It’s bad enough thay Arsenal have had to play their full team, but to then maybe lose as well isn’t going to be great for morale.
I like Evanilson. I think Arsenal could do a lot worse than take a good look at him.

    Injury time FK

Dont waste the usual few mins

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,935 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Well….that is not ideal, they have to make Weds worth that.

it looked like odegard was fouling evanilson. so if the goal was disallowed for handball i just wonder would they have then reviewed for a pen which would have happened before the handball occurred.

    Got it.

Would have been a bit harsh, I think. It looked like they were both kind of tangled in the challenge.

Arsenal play the full team and still lose. Even without injuries Arsenal nowhere near Liverpool this year. They're form since Saka came back has been atrocious in the league. Will be mad if after all the talk Man City finish above them and win a trophy. United or Spurs could end up having a better season as well

City with Southampton, Fulham and Bournemouth to come

Arsenal with Liverpool, Newcastle and Southampton

City's games on paper look more winnable, though Arsenal will be playing a Liverpool with nothing to play for I guess

Newcastle are only 2 points behind Arsenal if they win their game in hand tomorrow as well, and play against Arsenal themselves, so 2nd, 3rd, and 4th is actually pretty open between City, Arsenal, and Newcastle.

Southampton could yet end up the worst Premier league team statistically ever; Derby ended with a goal difference of - 69, Southampton are currently on - 57, but, have 3 really difficult fixtures against Man City at home, then Everton away and finally Arsenal at home on the last day of the season. They could well ship 3 heavy defeats there, enough to end with a worse goal difference; City have picked up form lately and still need to confirm CL spot, Everton's last game at Goodison, so they will want to go out on a high and Arsenal could also inflict a big defeat.

That would infuriate me if I was an Arsenal fan.

I didn’t realise how many of them now absolutely despise Odegaard

Considering what happened yesterday, this is a great headline!

So are people expecting a championship winning hangover or a party on the pitch from Liverpool vs Chelsea today?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,320 ✭✭✭doc_17

I’d say it’ll be drab because Liverpool have nothing to play for and Chelsea stink the place out with the style they play.

A lot of players these days don't drink much or not at all so I doubt the Liverpool players were on the piss all week. I'd say they'll go hard but maybe be a bit more careful going into hard tackles like they normally would. I'd still fancy a Liverpool win.

You’d have to expect Chelsea will be all out for a 0-0 or 1-0 even.

Brentford playing the Star Wars theme pre-match.

Slot said he's going to rotate in the players that didn't get real opportunities during the season. It won't be whole sale changes to the line-up as happened in the FA Cup, instead players like Chiesa and Elliott will get an opportunity to start.

I remember Man City hammering a drunk Liverpool after Liverpool won the league a few years ago.

Hopefully they are drunk again today as it's the only way we will beat them. If we can't beat a drink team....

Second time VAR is going to have to overturn the ref trying to give Newcastle a penalty. It’s every game they play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,935 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

    Newcastle love a dive.

Pen overturned. Card dished out to Willock

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,468 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Pawson doing his level best to help them out, all the same.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,935 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

Can probably forgive him the 2nd one, and it's good that VAR has stepped in. To be fair, he rolled back. First one never really looked inside the area, so he was a little quick to give Anthony Gordon the benefit.

That name alone should put doubt in your mind as to whether anything is a foul to begin with.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,468 ✭✭✭✭CSF

I think the benefit of the doubt just completely falls away when it’s referees and Newcastle. It’s every game nearly.

ManU getting a thumping. Used to it by now surely.

How one team with a GD of 6 and another with something like -10 are in contention for a CL spot next season is ridiculous.
